Letts get it.

MJ Eid

Second?

Mark O'Leary

Just so you know, for captions and whatnot, the doctor's name is Singed. As in "slightly burned". Also, sad fact: Vi's nickname for Jinx, Pow-Pow, is the name of Jinx's minigun in the games.

Chelly

This whole episode was phenomenal, but I will never not gush over how perfect that reunion scene between Vi and Jinx was. Just so many great expectation subversions. It’s like, you half expect them to not meet up at all. But they do. Then you half expect them to fight. But they don’t. Then you think Caitlyn just screwed it all up by showing herself. But she didn’t. The only reason they got separated at the end was because of the Firelights, and that was out of their control. The whole scene is legitimately one of my favorites in the show for this reason. They’re characters behaving like actual people. Arcane doesn’t move the characters along for the plot, the characters move the plot along. We don’t get enough of that in shows these days so I will always be grateful when it does happen.

Jenny D

The Owl House!

Jenny D

A trick I use for hiccups is to take a deep breath in through my mouth—I’m talking diaphragm deep breath—then plug my nose and hold that breath as long as I can. It works most of the time. To see if it worked I try coughing, and if I can cough without hiccuping they’re gone.

Gabriel Dobson

From what I gathered the person Vi saw when she was all hazy and Caitlyn was saying her name was her mother. We've only seen Vi's mother's face once and that was at the very start, dead on the bridge. It's the only person that looks similar. To me at least.

Keshy

that person @33:30 I believe is their mother if you remember from episode 1 she had blue hair

SkinnyAsAStick

So we need a hiccup counter. Yeah sorry

Jenny D

Well now I want nothing more than a Montana Hiccup Counter!

?Josephina?

the owl house or clone wars

Mten10th

Vi never abandoned Powder.

Élina Kressmann

to anwser your question, the purple haired person Vi was hallucinating just before taking the shimmer was her mother ! We see her int very first scene of the show, killed by enforcers on the bridge, before Vi and Powder gets adopted by Vander. Vi is loosing blood and it's implied that that shack in the depth of the underground was her and powder's childhood home before the failed revolution and Vander, and since Caitlyn and Vi's mom kinda have the same hair, she hallucinated her. She however was not in Viktor's flashback, idk where Kenny got that from !

Jenny D

I still want to know who let Silco and his goon(s) into Marcus’s apartment. Did he just leave his like, 5-year-old (no way she’s as old as Vi was in Act 1 like Silco claims) daughter home alone, or did some incredibly negligent babysitter just let them in and leave? Or did Silco kill the babysitter somehow without the little girl knowing? This is one mystery I don’t want to remain unsolved!

Élina Kressmann

also i think you missed the fact that caitlyn was knocked out and taken with Vi at the end of this episode ! Amazing reaction though, i love to see your interpretations of the characters and story lines, i think act 3 really is going to blow you away ~

ADHD_Selkie
>>90177274

No, but in Jinx's mind that's what happened. Last thing she remembered was being hit and Vi walking away from her. That definitely seemed like being abandoned to her and that's the framework that they're coming from with their analysis at the end of the video. They were speaking in terms of how Jinx internalises those events

JennatheBreadQueen
>>90177274

I think we can all agree, Montana and Kenny included, that this is true. However Powder/Jinx never knew that. Even Vi said herself that she never meant to “abandon” Powder - she understands herself how it looked despite knowing the truth of what happened. Both Jinx’s perception of the event and what actually happened to Vi can be true at the same time

SimoDexx

I think you guys would love the owl house. And, dragon prince would also be a good one.

Raven Rain
>>90177830

Silco says "You were so busy little Ren here saw me in". Maybe Marcus was home but he was in his office or something? I don't quite buy that but maybe it's an answer haha.

Jenny D

I’m fairly certain the person Vi was hallucinating, besides really young Powder obviously, is her mother. She had purplish hair, same as the dead woman on the bridge in the opening scene of the series. And purple is a mix of red/pink and blue. Plus they’re in Vi’s childhood home, and she’s hallucinating Powder as the same age she was when they lived there.

Thiago Ayres

Take a look at Castlevania, guys. I'm sure you will like it.

Jenny D
>>90177830

It seems like the most likely answer, but what always throws me off is that it looks like Marcus is just getting home from a long day at work. And I know the girl’s mother died (in episode 5 when he’s at his desk listening to Imagine Dragons on the radio there’s a childish drawing of him and his daughter with a winged woman in the sky) so who takes care of her when he’s working? Even if she is a little older than 5, I can’t see her being any older than like 7. I guess what I’m saying is that I need a Ren/Wren backstory in season 2!

Jenny D
>>90176773

I thought it was purplish, like her hair was a mix of Vi’s and Powder’s colors. But I guess we’ve never seen her hair in good lighting to say for sure.

Jon Wake

If you guys ever get tired of the endless Shonen anime, you should really check out Kaguya Sama: Love is War. It's a brilliant comedy and the english dub is the best I've ever heard. Two genius highschoolers point their amazing intellect at each other, enacting schemes within schemes in order to get the other person to ask them out.

Jenny D

I just love the fact that if Vi hadn’t stopped and turned back to flip that guy off and tell him, “Fuck you,” then she never would’ve seen the flair!

Mathies

why can't Vi resurface? because she can take Jinx away from him, bring Powder back, cause jinx to abandon him. Vi's the only person who could make jinx leave him.

Jenny D
>>90177564

I thought that Kenny thought Vi’s mother was the doctor from Victor’s flashback. Either way, whether he thought the Mom looked like young-Skye or pre-singed Doctor, it’s fascinating the kinds of connections the human brain can come up with!

Swanzy

Most of the title names of the episodes are from the songs that play in the episode ☺️ for this episode it's the song that played when jinx lit the flare and the enforcers put up the barriers on the bridge

Luca

IMO the show to watch next should be Dragon Prince even thou the CGI is kinda ugly.

Jenny D
>>90177274

Yeah, not even “lowkey” abandoning Powder. She went like one building away to give herself a moment to breakdown without making anything worse with Powder, and then she got chloroformed and taken to prison. Yes Powder believed differently for very valid reasons, but we the audience always knew it wasn’t an abandonment, it was a forced separation.

fr0st

NGL, the hiccups have me giggling too. Absolutely hilarious!

Eduardo

I don't know if you guys missed this or not, but I don't believe Silco deliberately misled Jinx about Vi since it was Marcus who lied to Silco first about her dying when in reality he put her in prison (which was why it was such a big deal to him that Vi showed up again, and why he went to go threaten Marcus in the first place.)

Thyodor Cloudbreath

Dragon Prince is definitely one of my favourite shows, on the level of Arcane in my mind plus it gets bonus-points for one of the main characters being voiced by Sokka!

Jenny D

Jinx’s tattoos are blue smoke, much like the smoke that came out of the flair to signal Vi.

Robert

I feel like they are mischaracterizing Silco in their heads and thinking that Silco is like Shadow Weaver from She-Ra when it's completely different.

Mathies

jinx tried to save VI but they smokescreened away before she could. actually very similar to what actually happened in episode 3 but I dont think either one will feel like Jinx abondoned Vi here. She didnt make the concious choice to walk away first.

Jenny D
>>90181811

I’m actually a bit confused about what Jinx thinks happened to Vi. The way Silco talked to her in his office in episode 4 sounds like he had been telling her that Vi abandoned her, and since Silco believed Vi was dead that means he did deliberately mislead Jinx. But the confusing part is Jinx’s reaction to Sevika in this episode, because Vi being back in the city doesn’t contradict what Silco had been telling her. So if Jinx didn’t think Vi was dead, nothing Sevika said should’ve made Jinx believe Silco was a liar.

fr0st

Owl boy aka HOO it is? Kenny's terrible puns are rubbing off on Montana and we love to see it!

Jenny D

I wrote this in reply to another comment, but I wanted to make it its own comment as well because it’s something that just occurred to me: I’m actually a bit confused about what Jinx thinks happened to Vi. Basically Marcus lied to Silco about Vi being dead, possibly even said he killed her himself. From there it seems like Silco, believing Vi was dead, lied to Jinx and said Vi abandoned her.

Valentina M

The girl in Victor’s past is Sky, the assistant. Also I think that person in Vi’s hallucination is their mother

Stephen Ray
>>90181811

"Your sister is gone" is what Silco said to Jinx in episode 4. He believes her to be dead because Marcus told her so. But Silco believes Vi died after she abandoned Jinx, so both things are true - Vi abandoned Jinx and then Vi died.

Syrelis
>>90181928

It's been my theory that Jinx's tattoos are symbolic of a silent crying out for Vi. Their positioning also lends to the thought of a duality in her, Powder and Jinx.

Jenny D
>>90182142

I wouldn’t say completely different. Jinx is basically his Adora. The only real difference I see is that, over time he has come to genuinely care about Jinx for who she is as a person (and bear in mind this is the person that HE created her to be, and not necessarily who she actually wanted to be) and not just for how she can help him gain power. But overall Silco and Shadow Weaver are very similar characters. He’s just a little, tiny bit less heartless than her.

Stephen Ray

Love the reaction. A few points: 1) Silco is draining something from his eye, not injecting shimmer. All there is to his device is a springloaded needle and a container to hold it. 2) It's their mom that Vi hallucinates. We saw her in the first minutes of episode 1 3) Silco believes that Vi is dead, apparently because Marcus told him so. That's why he's so surprised that she's in the Lanes in episode 5, and why he goes to confront Marcus. 4) Vi can't resurface because she's a strong enemy who knows that Silco isn't the upstanding industrialist the topside believes him to be. With an enforcer at her side, she could blow his cover. Also, Marcus may have told him that she can link the two of them to Grayson's death, which would definitely have the topside turning over every inch of the undercity to find and deal with Silco.

Sinewmire

I think the person Vi sees when she wakes up is her mother. We've only seen a glimpse of her, in the first episode. Vi left Powder. Only for a moment, in the heat of awful circumstances, and she tried to go back. But she left. Vi's life has been fully determined her absolute lowest moment, and that's just... awful and unfair.

Eduardo
>>90181811

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Silco told Jinx that Vi died, not that she just abandoned her. Because like you said, she wouldn't have the reaction she did to Sevika telling her Vi is back if she didn't think otherwise.

LeFlaneur

I’m recommending Invincible. Not my favourite of the choices, but it’s short and very popular. In just 8 episodes you’ll diversify your reactions backlog, likely get a significant boost in subs, and since you can speedrun the show in less than a month you’ll be able to quickly jump into a longer series like Young Justice, Castelvania, Owl House, Infinity Train or Dragon Prince. To consider especially since you’re juggling 2 long series like FMA and Demon Slayer.

Hailey C

My recommendation is the owl house

Jenny D
>>90183067

The thing is, when we’ve seen him poke his eye close up, we can see a drop of purple when the needle is retracted. I always thought he was both releasing pressure as well as injecting a tiny bit of shimmer into his eye.

Jenny D
>>90181811

True. I guess if I was Jinx I’d wonder how he knew she was dead without seeing the body, or I’d have to see the body to believe it.

Eric Smith

I'm definitely rooting for The Clone Wars, though be aware that it's one of those series that takes a bit to hit its stride. Also, DEFINITELY watch in chronological order, they tried to do an anthology thing with the early seasons that didn't really work.

Eric Smith

I feel compelled to point out that Vi and Cait glance at each other's lips during the face holding scene.

KT Bees

I am once again humbly recommending The Legend of Vox Machina. It's twelve episodes so far and has some voices that are familiar to you from fullmetal alchemist (Laura Bailey as Lust and Travis Willingham as Roy Mustang), AoT (Matt Mercer was Levi), and even avatar (Grey DeLisle as Azula).

fr0st
>>90179149

Yeah we do see that character briefly once in ep 1 when Vi soundlessly is asking about her parents and Vander silently gestures to the dead bodies and you can see the blue hair of their mother.

Vex Valor

I recommend The Owl House from the presented choices, but I also suggest checking out Infinity Train and Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts. Infinity Train has an entire plot based around working through your mental health, so I think Montana will really like it. Kipo is a great show with a lot of good representation. The main character shares a VA with Glimmer from She-Ra.

bloodyshadow1
>>90186429

while I think it's a great show, I don't think it's one that really fits them as reactors

Void Weaver

Owl House would be a good choice

TrixieTurner

Yo give arcane a little more credit than that, they wouldn't do such a by the numbers story that they'd have the plot be silco manipulating jinx and vi fighting that with the power of friendship and family.

That Guy

Invincible hands down is the best of those, but dragon Prince is SUPER avatar esque so thats good too. All other choices are good though and I would be happy with.

Robert Bonfante

For all of the shock and awe that happens in episode 3, it's episode 6 that really gets me. It just cuts so deep emotionally. The moment Heimerdinger gets expelled from the council; the entire flare montage; and that final moment of Jinx and Vi reuniting -- this episode just throws emotional haymakers.

Robert Bonfante
>>90182733

Silco used Vi's seeming abandonment to continue to stoke Powder's resentment to her sister. It makes sense that Silco would use that, over telling Jinx the "truth" that Vi died. If Vi did die, Silco can't keep saying that Vi is purposely avoiding Jinx. It would create doubt about Vi's continual abandonment of Powder. Silco would then risk losing his hold over Jinx. That Marcus would lie to Silco about Vi makes sense in that he is trying to hold that as an ace up his sleeve. Marcus isn't smart enough to know how to use that hand, but I think intuitively he felt he could hold that over Silco.

Metaljacket

There's a trick that always gets rid of hiccups for me. Take a deep breath and hold it without letting a hiccup out for about 30 seconds or until you need to take a breath. Then swallow before fully exhaling and inhaling deeply one more time.

fr0st

The Owl House for sure. You'll enjoy theorizing about magical systems and the core mysteries.

fr0st
>>90182142

I don't want to spoil anything but agree that they are incredibly different characters, both in terms of general motivations as well as their relationship to their chosen golden child.

fr0st
>>90182733

The resentment part is that Silco is dispatching people to take care of "some girls" and Jinx later discovers that those some girls are Vi and someone else and Silco is hiding it from her and trying to kill Vi so that Jinx will never actually find her.

Rory Fitz

Putting “Our Flag Means Death” out there again as a suggestion! I know it’s live action and so far you guys have just been doing animation stuff but I think it would be really up your alley and also not a long commitment (one short season, similar length to arcane)

fr0st

Interesting to note that the three major women in Vi's life that she cared about all have blue hair.

fr0st

Everyone's very hard on Vi but she removed herself to get space because she was literally so angry and emotional that she was hitting Powder. She walked away intending to cool off and come back and is immediately ambushed. The fault is 100% Marcus for keeping her literally locked in a prison most of her life and Silco for ensuring that she died (or so he thinks) so that he can use the abandonment to bind Powder to him.

Synth

That person Vi saw isn't connected to Viktor at all, it was a vision of her Mother, her and Caitlin have the same hair color or rather similar. This isn't a spoiler because it's never gonna come up again so thought I'd just throw it out there now :)

Atar

I don't care what your mom named you.. your name is now Chuck!

Kara

I would watch Invincible, but I would much rather The Owl House

Asteroidea

Looking forward to Invincible if you end up doing it, but Dragon Prince is a great show too, and I think you'd both like it a lot. I mean it's got some of the Avatar: The Last Airbender creative team on it, so...

Mathew Staib

So the person Vi sees Caitlin as was her and Powder's mom who we saw on the bridge at the beginning of the show. Her and Caitlin have same hair color and was caring for her so it was a connection for Vi. As for the girl Vicktor saw at the beginning its not a spoiler but you can here her name be called in that scene, it is Sky. I won't say much more about here because I didn't see anyone say about her so IDK if it's a spoiler or not to say who she is.

fr0st

As commented by everyone, y'all may have missed that Kait is the first one to be knocked out, the ball rolls out of her hand and the firelight person takes the ball and her. They then knock out Vi later and they're about to kill her when the leader says to take her as well.

Ben_Kenobi_77

next one I am interested in watching you watch is Clone Wars. :)

Prda

Nah, Silco isn't afraid of Vi because she's a good fighter; she's still only human.

Bradley Hall
>>90181811

Thank you! I feel like alot of people miss that Silco thought what he said was true.

Bradley Hall

Kenny: "I don't see how they can top the craziness of episode 3" Me: Laughing maniacally

Bradley Hall
>>90199730

I don't think Silco knew anything about what Marcus did with Vi, so I don't really think we can say he did it SO he could bind powder. I mean his original intention seemed to be to kill her after all.

fr0st
>>90199730

Yes, he thinks Marcus has killed Vi so that she can absolutely never turn up to influence Powder again. He can keep feeding Powder the narrative that Vi is alive but has just abandoned her because she doesn't care about her and he does.

Suplee215

Considering you are doing a 1 season show I rely want tk get back to longer commitments than Invincible. I love the journey you guys goes on for months on end and multi season arcs can really define a show in my opinion

Hehe

I’d like to put emphasis on dramatic irony of words “are you real” from jinx. This scene never fails to choke me up… from vi’s perspective it conveys Jinx’s disbelief and shock of finally being reunited with her sister. For jinx and the audience, the phrase offers a double meaning as we know the extent of Jinx’s hallucinations and mental illness. “Are you real” literally means weather Vi’s existence is real or in jinx’s head. Her hallucinations are so deep-rooted and extensive that jinx literally cannot tell the difference between her hallucinations and reality (poor girl). This also signifies that Jinx has had multiple hallucinations with uniting with Vi since their separation, illustrates really how desperate jinx want to be reunited with Vi. Absolutely heartbreaking stuff.

Suplee215
>>90177830

Simple tk have it be a baby sitter or nanny. Either one who is loyal tk silco or one silco can firmly suggest should leave

castle215

Great quote with "a desperate genius is a dangerous genius," definitely could apply to Jinx as well!

josgilmore

Just to help clear it up for y’all, the woman Vi hallucinated and the girl from Viktor’s flashback are two different people. Vi imagined her mother, which we saw briefly at the very beginning of episode 1. Which makes sense, since she was in her childhood home and Caitlyn was taking care of her at that moment.

Jenny D
>>90210361

I saw other comments point out who she is. The first time I watched the show I had subtitles on and I still didn’t really pick up who Skye was, but I don’t think it’s a secret or a spoiler. In fact, I’m pretty sure Jayce says her first name at one point. It’s just that Victor only uses her last name.

Jenny D
>>90182754

Well his illness does seem to have aged him quite a bit. Look at the time skip between Acts 1 & 2. Jayce looks mostly the same, where as Victor looks a lot older.

Leighton Williams

Owl House for your next show, PLEASE, you'll absolutely love it

Azi

the owl house

Azi

Marcus looks like those angry mushrooms from Mario

james lee

Please watch invincible and have you guys ever thought about doing a reaction to the official music video for enemy by imagine dragons

Robert Bonfante

The Dragon Prince is made by members of the same creative team that did ATLA and Legend of Korra. There are even Easter eggs in the series that call back to Avatar. Yeah, the animation in Arcane definitely eclipses that in TDP (but honestly, I don't think anything else out right now competes with Arcane in that regard). But the Dragon Prince hits those Avatar notes. I also second someone's suggestion of The Legend of Vox Machina. It's crude, vulgar and has a lot of (excessive, IMO) gross-out humor, but it's hard not to fall in love with the 7 characters that make up the team. The story, based on a role-played campaign, is also very well written.

The Evil Queen

First Invincible and second Dragon Prince. Both are really good with good stories

Antonella Urbiola

Actually, Vi saw her mother, they showed her at the beginning of the first episode and it makes sense she started having hallucinations from when she used to lived there with Powder and her mom.

Antonella Urbiola
>>90595100

I believe the girl young Viktor was playing with at the start of the episode is their lab assistant, the one that seemed to have a crush on him. Idk they look similar to me, could be wrong tho.

Chaos Gaming

still no episode 7? hmmm someone is late!

Chaos Gaming

I feel lied to! c'mon KENNYYYYY stap slacking

DarkEden

Kipo and the age of the wonder beasts you should check it out

Cathy Breuer

OWL HOUSE!!!! Your psychology discussions will work so well with that show hahahaha but Dragon Prince is also good

Joel David Allport-Cohoon

Look, I'm excited to see you react to all three of those options, but top of my list definitely has to be Owl House
