The Best Nyaa

I really love this show. And Rayla is my favorite character.

Selim

finally. i hope deeply that you continue this show!

Mark O'Leary

Fun fact: In the Claudia's first scene, she's reading Love Amongst the Dragons, which is a play in the ATLA universe. Zuko mentions it in the Ember Island Players.

VVenture

Someone needs to do a photoshop of ‘The Creation of Adam’ but instead of it being Adam and God it’s Cheyenne and Montana because every time Cheyenne reaches over I die laughing thinking of that painting 😂

Tyler Jacobs

Great Episode! I will point out that Kenny made an honest mistake during question 2. The elves Rayla and Runaan are not siblings. I do however love his analysis of the dynamic differences. Anyways I'm super excited to watch yall analyze this show. It's big on the mental states of the characters.

SweetCandle

The references start: Claudia is reading "Love Amongst the Dragons", the play that the Ember Island players butchered each year.

Selim

just finished the reaction. awesome as always and i can’t wait for u both to go deeper into the lore as the show progresses. hope ur both having a good day and can’t wait for the next video.

Tyler Jacobs

Because I think tracking characters is fun and I wasn't sure if you caught it but the human soldier with the spiked black hair is the man Rayla spared.

jamurano

Definitely would love to see you guys react to this whole series, especially since we are getting season 4 soon. To clear up a tiny bit of confusion: Claudia and Soren are the ones we saw interacting with the Step Prince (those two are siblings). Ezran and Callum are the two brothers. All of which are human. The elves, we don’t really know their dynamic yet. The girl though was called Rayla. Also, please just say CG or 3D, not CGI. They are different things. As an Animation and Game Development graduate, it’s a mild pet peeve. 😅

Connla Lyons

I feel dragon prince is the strongest contender. There's just more dense episodes for you to reacto compared to young justice or owl house

Metaljacket

The stutters from low framerate animations do bother me in this one but it's fixed in later episodes.

Asteroidea

Really hope you pick this one up going forward. It's a great little show with a lot of that AtlA charm, and I'm looking forward to the coming season.

Matt Lievens

Y'all should repost the dust episode of young justice for those who might have missed it the first time

BlueEyedRaven

I really wish you could do both The Dragon Prince and The Owl House. But if I had to pick which one you should react to, it would be The Dragon Prince. Each episode drives the story and there's really no "filler" episodes. But I would not be disappointed if you decided on The Owl House as it's a fun series as well.

Robin B

I forgot how awesome this show is... damn I want to watch it again now

Kelsey Krehbiel

The book that Claudia is reading as she almost walks into the tree is called Love Amongst the Dragons--which is the play Zuko says his mom made them go see on Ember Island every year! :) I love this show and I am so excited for season 4!

I've already watched it. I was just suggesting it to make it easier for other people since those posted so long ago. Specifically on Patreon not YouTube. YouTube search functionality is a lot better than patreons

Asteroidea

Also as a genuine, registered 'Scottish Person', Rayla's accent is indeed Scottish and not half bad. She goes a little jarringly hard on the 'Ah's instead of 'I's at the start of the show, but she sounds a lot more natural after the first few episodes. While the actor is Canadian, I think her parents were from here, so that tracks.

Racso Rhodes

Great reaction, glad you are liking it so far.

MLynn

I absolutely adore the owl house but dragon prince gets my vote! I love both shows but dragon prince was a lot more memorable for me so I’m really hoping you choose dragon prince to continue reacting to!!

Thyodor Cloudbreath

Voting for Dragon Prince here, it just has a very special place in my heart

Catradora fan

Fun fact: the narrator at the start is the same voice actor as Koh the face stealer from ATLA

David L

Dragon Prince is just such fantastic show. Owl House is pretty good too but this one gets the node from me

Courtney Bogle

A vote for Dragon Prince! Especially with the new season coming out. A lot to analyze in the relationships between the main characters and history's impacts in this show. Plus, it's beautiful! Especially when they improve the animation in season 2.

Beeboop

This show is so much fun, and truly if you are looking for a story that is engaging and new but still has the feel of avatar this is the perfect one!!! Also I love Montana and I will laugh at the title joke every time 😂😂😂💖💖💖

Robert Bonfante

Dragon Prince gets my vote for the Avatar feels! But the strong support for Owl House does have me intrigued.

Lars

I’m going to have to rewatch your reactions to the first YJ just to remember where the episode break was lol

SimoDexx

I think you guys would love this series. My top two are The owl house and The dragon prince. I'm hoping one of them win.

Andreas

My vote goes to Dragon Prince, but Owl House would be nice too.

Max Myrbäck

vote for Dragon prince! It is my second favorite animated tv series avter Arcane

jolly

my vote is def owl house

Bowl of Rice

You guys absolutely need to do Dragon Prince next — with a new season finally coming out soon, it is a must-watch

Anthony Tucker

How does no one else dislike this animation? Im so sorry but it looks... terrible in my opinion

Leighton Williams
>>92369115

I was literally cringing at the animation the whole time, I tried to watch the show once a long time ago and couldn't get past it then, either

pineapplegreg

This is a good show, you guys are definetly gonna enjoy watching!

Zak Moran
>>92369115

The framerate changes, making some of the motion less choppy, but the overall animation stays the same.

fr0st
>>92369115

Yeah, it's pretty choppy but that alone won't deter me from a good storyline.

fr0st
>>92369115

That said, I think I suffered a bit watching this right after Arcane because it set the bar so, so high with the facial microexpressions and amazing animation in general.

Nazrel
>>92369115

The choppiness was deliberate and intended to emulate more traditional animation styles, realizing it wasn't really working as intended they smooth it out in later seasons.

Anthony Tucker
>>92369115

@nazrel, im sorry but i dont buy that at all, ive seen many "traditional styles" as you put it, and none are as bad as this. I assume they bit off way more than they can chew in terms of budget when it comes to their animation style. It gets better in later seasons because the show has positive reviews and more money to work with. I just dont think its for me at all though that being said. Sad because the story does seem extremely fun

christian

I am so so excited for this

SkinnyAsAStick

The callbacks to avatar in this show are what I really want to see you guys react to. Owl house seems cool but I wanna see y'all react to this show

hayden

yess!!! love dragon prince!!!

Random Gal

For those asking about the animation, book 1 is all like this, while it is very choppy and doesnt look too great, I believe it was an experimental stylistic choice that obviously didnt end up going so well. So starting in book 2 it is much smoother and better looking. While it is a bit rough to get through in book 1, I think it is well worth it for the great story and I think its great that the team behind the show were trying to be creative and try something new, they also recognised the issues and were willing and able to change to the animation going forward.

Random Gal

Also after watching this…. Idk about my earlier vote for owl house. I love them both but I have been so caught up in the hype of owl house since I found it while season 2 was airing I immediately voted for it. But after seeing this episode again after so long of dragon prince being on hiatus…. I kind of would love to see what you think of it. And I mean there is and will be enough owl house content on yt for awhile. Especially with the third and final ‘season’ about to start airing. So Im kinda leaning towards a vote for dragon prince now? Then owl house after that once its fully released? I mean either show I would LOVE for you to watch. Anyway, glad you enjoyed ep. 1!

Robbie Crow

Dragon Prince all the way 😁

Attila Kos

Awww you guys are vibing with the dragon prince just like i hoped you would.. its so difficult to decide owl house vs dragon prince rn.. they are both so good..

Attila Kos

Damn just seeing how you two are feeling nostalgic and really loving the vibes i have to vote dragon prince as the next series!

Ben Sarchett

I was very surprised by how much I liked Dragon Prince, I can't wait to see more!

Robert Bonfante
>>92369115

Framerate issues aside, I find it gorgeous to look at. And I feel like that's where Kenny and Montana are at as well in their reaction. The framerate issues resolve in Season 2, and honestly, Season 2 is where the show went from being just a good and interesting show to a must see experience.

jay

id love to see you react to this show. I think you'll really like the references to not only avatar but just pop culture in general

CC

I haven't been on the channel in a while but I was so excited when I popped in and saw this!

Malea Probus

Seen dragon prince 4 times, I could use another excuse to watch it again

Bibbles

I’m obsessed with this series and I know you guys will be too!!

Merfhew

Yes please.

Anonymous

Rayla is freaking gorgeous

JennatheBreadQueen

it’s so rare for me to get hooked on a series right away, but i’m already planning on watching the rest based on this reaction alone. would love to see y’all do this!!!

Richard C.

If you need to pick only one show to watch next, make it this. Just like Avatar, it starts good, but becomes amazing! Also, season 4 is about to drop. Yay!

SixAverage

so glad you guys are finally watching my favourite show! i really think you will like it

Edina Lewis

So excited to see this, really hoping Dragon Prince takes the next slot!!
