Is it worth Reconsidering Young Justice (Patreon)

Hello Everyone! This is just a question, as today we plan on filming YJ ep 2, Owl House ep 2, and Dragon Prince ep 2! It seems YJ consistently comes in last in the polls, and that makes me wonder whether its worth doing another reaction to it, considering we already tried it once before and it came in third then too. Let me know what you all think!

Also, I believe the show has no definite end point, so there's that.

I'll be honest, I'm way more interested in DP and TOH than YJ 😅

Laoise Talley

Yeah the way they ended it is kind of why I don't want y'all to react, but if you choose to that's fine with us🙂

Marcb92

In all honesty I think it is amazing. But even if you don’t watch it and record the reaction, I strongly recommend watching the 1st season anyway and not reacting to it. It’s story telling is top tier and on par with some of the best anime shows.

Ray

I would also like to add that while I LOVE Young Justice, I don't think reacting to Season 3 and 4 is really necessary. I'm sure others will disagree but my opinion comes from the fact that Season 2 ended years ago and while there was one thing that had yet to be resolved by the s2 finale most of the story had wrapped up and that's all any of us had gotten from the series until YEARS later. Season 3 and 4 are .... okay I guess. But nothing in comparison to the first two seasons (especially in terms of storytelling). Just a thought that I'm sure many will disagree with ...

M00nD0ggie13

I think TOH and DP win bc they have shorter seasons. YJ is longer and more complicated plotlines that stretch over multiple seasons plus season 5 is up in the air. It's not like it's going anywhere.

Asteroidea

In terms of your non-anime stuff I think there's a sort of commonality between Avatar, Korra, Shera, Dragon Prince and Owl House that maybe doesn't extend to a more trad DC comic-based cartoon. If you went forward with it you might draw in new people, but I can see why there might not be nearly as much enthusiasm for it with your established audience.

Chelly

I personally prefer Young Justice to The Dragon Prince. I just want The Owl House to win. So taking YJ off the polls (for now) would be fine… as long as YJ fans vote for The Owl House lol

Zo Hunter

Yeah, I'm more interested in Owl House and Dragon Prince. I tried to watch the first episode of Young Justice, but I got bored

Jinchuriki87

I mean, you can always take off young justice, and then put another superhero show on there...say, My hero academia? See how the polling goes then? 😉😉🤣🤣

The Evil Queen

Dragon Prince is better in my opinion, it's different that the other shows.

Retied

Kenny, I think with the start of season 3 of ToH and with the trailer for season 4 TDP, YJ just doesn't have the hype factor right now. It's just not a game on the same playing field between the three series.

Tann

I personally have zero interest in owl house and dragon princess so my vote is for young justice witch is one of my favorite shows

Gestrid

I personally love at least the first two seasons of Young Justice. The third season (which came out years later) was okay, and the fourth season I haven't seen yet. Despite that, out of the three, I would actually prefer Young Justice to win. For the record, I've seen Dragon Prince but have yet to see The Owl House. And I do think that other commenter here might have a point: Young Justice would probably attract a new, different audience to your channel, but your current audience may not be as into the kind of show Young Justice is (or, rather, the genres the show is a part of).

Isn’t that an anime? They’re looking for a new western animation to replace Arcane, which replaced She-ra.

Justin Spencer

The show has this incredible fire in its first run seasons 1 and 2 when it returned it just wasn’t the same show to me and didn’t give the same vibes perhaps that’s why it’s last if you just watched the first 2 seasons I think you’d have a good time but it’s a very long show to commit to otherwise with no clear end goal. I’d personally like to see you watch DEATH PARADE or ANOTHER both 12 episode animes I think you’d both enjoy

Rob Carlstrom

Young justice just isn't as popular of a show in general, but it is worth watching eventually. Ofc you have a business to run, but someday maybe even a Kenny solo series, it'd be fun to see you react to

Zzz Zzz

I feel like owl House or dragon Prince would be a better fit for the channel and they are shorter which means they are less of a commitment

Jinchuriki87
>>93312440

Ah ok, I'm new to the Patreon side of things and wasn't aware of that detail.

Dead Man Talking

Honestly I think Young Justice Seasons One and Two are fantastic and worth watching but the other two seasons aren't nearly as good so I'd actually say skip Young Justice. It just doesn't fit you guys imo. I love the show but I think something else fits better.

Suplee215

Yea heavily disagree. I find season 3 and 4 the most interesting.

Matt Lievens

I love Young Justice. I really hope y'all watch it eventually. But it's not going to win out over Dragon Prince or Owl House. All 3 are good shows, and you should watch them all eventually, but it probably doesn't make sense to watch the second episode of YJ now, just for it to get back burnered again.

John Anthony

I love young justice and I truly hope you keep considering it for a series. I feel your viewership definitely leans toward shows like TOH and DP but I feel YJ can be a unique show to experience

Macarthius

I really loved Young Justice season 1 and 2 and absolutely recommend watching it on your own but seasons 3 and 4 kinda fell off in my opinion and wouldn't really be worth reacting to I think. Dragon Prince and Owl House are a lot more relevant to most people at this time with new seasons coming out soon. I can't speak on Owl House but I've heard good things and I'm interested in it myself and I feel Dragon Prince has been consistently good so I think they're both better picks right now.

Sean Fox

Recently said owl house was boring, thought I’d finished it but actually hadn’t went back and rewatched and I enjoyed it. Still love young justice tho 🥵

fr0st

Not really my thing so voting no but maybe a candidate for a solo series someone

Sean Fox

Just react to young justice one day is all I ask 🙏🏻

Jericho

I like all three shows and think they are worth reacting to, but Owl House and Dragon Prince are both getting new seasons in the next two months which is definitely going to drive their popularity up and unfortunately I think leave Young Justice in the dust voting wise

J. Antonio Ligorria

Young Justice has currently 4 seasons out, so it is definitely the longest of the series to date. The hype behind Dragon Prince comes primarily due to it being made by most of the production team behind ATLA & LoK; they will also premiere their long awaited 4th season on Netflix soon. I don't know much about Owl House, but I'll say for Young Justice that it's quality is consistent

They already did, back when Legend of Korra was ending, they posted their reaction to the first episode for us to vote on the next series. Kenny recently reposted it too

Sean Fox
>>93324775

I know I mean the whole series cause I see some people saying watch it on your own time and I’m like nah I wanna see them react to one of my fav series

SweetCandle

It's a good show, and it would be high on my recommended list, but I would personally rank Owl House and Dragon Prince higher.

Zakk

Young justice is one of my favorite shows of all times. And I think it would be a great addition to react to. Unfortunately it has been stacked against some other really popular shows that have been more in the mainstream audience giving them more hype. These shows are very good and well received for a reason. But young justice aired around 12 years ago now or something like that. So alot of its original audience is college age to above not to mention that it's last three seasons I want to say we're geared towards that age group instead of kids not receiving as many new audience members. So I do belive that young justice will be a great show to watch and maturity of the show grows with the character so it will make it fantastic to watch. So I say keep it. Also fair warning. Young justice operates on a "if you don't know, you don't need to know" basis. Such as if you don't know who some characters introduced are it doesn't give you their back story. Or if there a plot deduced mentioned it won't go into further detail about it and will just continue with how our characters are handling it.

If you think the main audience for TOH and dragon prince are kids, boy do I have news for you :D

fr0st
>>93324745

Yeah, I think given your existing interest in comic book universes and characters, you may actually get a lot more out of a series like YJ compared to Monatana who would need a lot of context for some of the jokes and themes to make sense, maybe. Definitely worth a solo series to keep the folks who are really keen on it happy, I imagine

Hannah

I love young justice and think it would be a good reaction. Definitely recommend keeping it on the list for a future reaction if it’s a no for now.

Zakk
>>93335671

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I'm well aware. I'm also college age and I love these shows. Originally they were marketed for kids so people older saw it too and liked the premise as well. Thus how I found out and fell in love with all these shows. (To be honest some of the best story's are still the ones meant for younger audiences. That's why I offered to take my cousins to see miraculous ladybug movie.)

Mithrell

I love young justice and it's been my pick in this last poll as well as the last one post-Korra, but I don't think it's something the core of your audience is interested in so my vote is to not keep it. At least for now.

bloodyshadow1

honestly, dragon prince to me is fine, but overhyped. I watched it but it came off very bland to me by the end of the first season. I just think young justice is a better show, but I don't think it's going to be an option

Holly Brawner
>>93341883

It got way better animation and story wise by the second season and I'm hyped for the fourth, the character interactions were interesting too. I suppose it's personal preference but I disagree that Young Justice is better. In fact it was Young Justice that came off as bland to me...kinda. Interesting and fun but I really didn't like the second season at all and the first season was more a 7 and a half out of 10 for me

PuccaLover15

Obviously, Owl House and Dragon Prince are the most popular right now. Maybe just watch these two first, and then come back to Young Justice some other time in the future.

Andy Canning-Skinner

I initially joined the Patreon to vote for Young Justice. It is an incredible show, that starts simple, but grows and builds into an amazing story. I will always hope you both react to it soon

bloodyshadow1
>>93341883

that's fair, I will also admit, I watched young justice when it came out over 10 years ago. I was in college and it was the best cartoon on tv since avatar and it gave me nostalgia for the old DCAU which was my childhood so I'm not going to pretend I'm not bias. Dragon Prince also got pretty ruined for my by it being everywhere, people talking it up, and when I actually watched it, the show just felt fine, but kind of clunky when I actually watched it. it's unfortunate that people do that and can't let things stand on their own first, but it happens

LabPartners

I’ve watched all 3 shows and Young Justice is leagues ahead of the others once it gets to season 3

Malea Probus

I just watched YJ so I can ask questions. It's really good.
