I'm not including My Hero Academia because it's already our top choice right now, but these are the top 10 choices that have cropped up! I'm thinking of doing 4 polls, with the bottom 2 choices being removed each time! This will be one of the ways we determine what to watch, so PLEASE vote below!

YOU CAN VOTE FOR SEVERAL OPTIONS

Comments

opheli

as much as i adore chainsaw man and would LOVE for y’all to watch that, mob psycho really is perfect you guys. cannot recommend it enough, you would love it

Bradley Hall

Code GEASS. if you like death note you'll probably enjoy code geass.

Echodec

CSM, JJK, and edgerunners are great shows, but Mob Psycho seems like a really good fit for you 2. I also think ranking of kings would be great.

Boolanda

Edgerunners blew me away, I didn’t know anything about cyberpunk going in and after watching that show I instantly bought cyberpunk 2077 and since I have gotten every achievement for it and have beaten the game multiple times. The animation in the show is top notch and everything about the cyberpunk universe is just so cool imo. Music is S tier as well

Addison Warns

OMG, please watch Fruit Basket 😊

Gareth

The promised never land is sooooo underrated and good

Gareth

And it’s shory

Gareth

Short

Gareth

Easy to get through

xiolette

mob psycho gang where're you at 😭 you KNOW it would be perfect for them

Gabriel Dobson

If you watch The Promised Neverland at any point just stick to Season 1. I don’t know what they were thinking for Season 2, but it was so bad it’ll never be finished and that’s a real shame. My vote is towards Fruits Basket and Spy x Family for shows that are bit more light hearted :)

Oliver Ryburn

Cyberpunk might have to be patron exclusive if you ever do react to if do to the explicit scenes

Roy Meulblok

Sad that The Legend of Vox Machina isn't in the list T_T but there are still a bunch of great choices in the list! So I made my vote.

cosmotron

Considering all the (extremely weird and pointless) fanservice in Code Geass I'm honestly surprised its been recommended lol.

Æther Paradox

Is this for Sunday or Thursday? Cuz you guys have kept the serious/fun shows separate.

Æther Paradox

Also why has nobody said hunter x hunter or Fairy Tail 😭😭😭

Robin B
>>103060200

I would sign up for Fairy Tail but it would be a loooooong ride 😂

Robin B

Spy x Family is an awesome show! It's very light and funny, and there aren't that many episodes to be up to date so it would even be possible to start another show after this one pretty fast

fr0st

Spy x family and fruits basket would be right up.your alleys. Chainsaw man is excellent but absolutely would not be Montana's thing, imo.

fr0st
>>103059859

These are replacing the anime show, so it makes sense that western animation.is not in this list

Daolord Badlands

I feel like people get too caught up on the fan service in Code Geass. Sure it's not necessary, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be watched. It's a Legendary ride.

Darby

please jujutsu kaisen!!! its a perfect stepping stone i think

Leighton Williams

I'm so sad Fruits Basket doesn't have more votes, I really think that's a show you guys would enjoy, especially when it comes to discussions of mental health and family dynamics

Eric Heim

They shouldn't watch something that's still coming out. We should prioritize shows that are completed. I would hate for them to have 10 shows waiting for new seasons or on hiatus. 1) no satisfying finale and 2) if they all return in the same season trying to figure out what to start releasing first.

cosmotron
>>103064381

Yeah, Fruits Basket would be so great for them to cover. I hope more people vote for it.

Roy Meulblok
>>103059859

I am pretty sure Edgerunners is supervised** by Project Red themselves with the help of Studio Trigger.

Amadhe

Log Horizon is a lesser known show, but near and dear to my heart. It has excellent worldbuilding and a wide cast of amazing characters, but it’s a bit of a slow burn. Even if you don’t end up reacting to it, I highly recommend you should to watch it.

Carl

PPPPPLLLEEEAAASEEE CONSIDERR WATCHING COWBOY BEBOP!!!!!! i need some backing on this, i know y'all(the community not the reactors) know how much praise the show has and how good it is

Jericho

I definitely think you guys would love Fruits Basket, there are tons of really lovable characters, lots of psychological stuff for Montana to analyze, plus its got a killer dub!

exhausted

My heart hurts that Violet Evergarden and Erased aren't up here, but Imma keep recc-ing them on the dl lol but Spyxfamily is such a sweet show and is really popular rn! It'll be a fun break from the drama of the last anime you've seen.

fr0st

I feel like y'all are going to have to basically decide on the direction for the channel with anime. You can go the shonen route, with more action based shonen anime, or the more wholesome route with slice of life or comedy/romance anime.

Recable

Code Geass is really good, hope that's the one you end up watching, and as others have said, you should watch completed shows, or at least near to completed shows that will finish before you get to a point where you have to wait.

EssDeeAre

Hate to see Code Geass lagging behind. It's a truly amazing anime, and its dubbing is really solid. Hope to see it get the reaction series it deserves someday soon!

EssDeeAre
>>103060200

HunterxHunter and Fairy Tail are very long rides. Perhaps unfairly so for other Patrons who would like to see them watch other series.

Æther Paradox
>>103060200

But isn't it unfair to Kenny and Montana to make them have to commission new art, learn a whole new cast of characters and the world they they are in every month? Like, they got FLAMED every time they got the smallest thing wrong with FMA or Death Note. Avatar was the first show they did and followed it by Korra. HxH is like 138 episodes. It would be nice and consistent and take them ~1 year to finish. Plus the people who they attract to join the patron because of the longer show will stay subbed longer as opposed to those who signed up for demon slayer and are already gone 🤷🏽‍♂️ and they are taking on MHA which is A. Longer, and B Not done yet. At least Fairy Tail is done and HxH is coming back, but has been "done" for over a decade.

Æther Paradox
>>103060200

In reality it's always good to get a grip for the basics before you dive into the pits. There is no denying that Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece have revolutionized how eastern animation is perceived in the west in addition to DBZ. Of those 4 shows that are the pillars that most other anime that became popular in the west built off of we have watched 0. HxH and Fairy Tail were the next closest to that influence level in the west and so I would start people there. Cuz nothing will amass hate comments quite like saying an aspect of a show is like Jujitsu Kaisen when it was paying homage to a foundational show.

Æther Paradox
>>103060200

It's like taking duolingo and only taking advanced lessons and then trying to speak in the country who's language you learned. You're not gonna understand the nuances and miss a lot of the themes that are present in these newer shows because these directors are assuming that you have seen Naruto or seen bleach and you can just GET the weird magic systems. If FMA thought us anything it is that people get really hify about their anime.

Liz

I cant believe fruit baskets is a option!!! I'm dieing right now they would love that show!!!!!!

Anthony Vargas

So many great picks but I gotta go with chainsaw man

Ethan Brown

Please for the love of all that is good.... watch Code Geass. I was talking to afriend earlier today about it and the following around a show like Deathnote. In our opinion, Code Geass did it first, and did it better. :)

JSB

I love chainsaw man, but I’ll be honest. I don’t believe montana could handle all the gore that comes with chainsaw man. I’m just going by her reactions to mild at best gore from other anime’s. Also My Dress Up Darling should be on the list over Fruits Basket.

Mortis

Fruits basket is a masterpiece show and I could see it being one of you guy’s favorite shows ever but it’s not gonna win a poll it’s to underrated in the west. You guys just need to decide to watch it. You guys will love it and fruits basket fans dying for more reactions will love it

Micaiah Wilkes

I cant stop watching code geass please watch the eng dub version starring the Johnny young bosch!

Micaiah Wilkes

Also I JUST became a $20 patron right now and I'd subscribe for another month if you did!

Zach Feifel

Can I make the recommendation of "The Legend of Vox Machina"

Micaiah Wilkes

Also code geass is similar to Death Note with both protagonist becoming gods

Jesse Ramsden

I think you guys would really enjoy Ranking of Kings 👏🏼👏🏼

Swanzy

BLEACH is a good one to consider down the line too x

James S

Chainsaw Man is my top choice followed by Edgerunners and Spy X Family. I think the insanity and awesomeness of CSM would be fun to watch (plus season 1 is 12 episodes, so no a super long run)

Iago

Please be aware that many people doesn't even know older anime. I bet most chainsaw and jujutsu kaisen votes have never seen code geass. The fact that most options are less than 5 years old says a lot. Sure it is what gets hyped nowadays, but Code Geass is just a classic, in the same level as Death Note. I am sure you will notice the difference between something like attack on titan, death note, code geass, and anime like demon slayer. Recent anime are too childish really. One anime I feel like both of you will just love is Monster. Monster is one of the best stories out there, it has detective/mistery elements on it, and it is a very mature show. But, if you are doing just for the views and the growth of the channel, then good luck with chainsaw man, jujutsu kaisen and demon slayer.

cosmotron

I'm finding out from all of these comments that I apparently don't like Code Geass as much as the average anime fan lol. Just not something I'd personally label a classic, but everyone has different tastes for that sort of thing haha.

James Rabbit

Spy x Family isn't a bad show by any means, but it is very episodic, so I don't think it would lend itself well to your style of reaction content, where you break down the character arcs and their mental state as it progresses over the run of the show, mostly because there isn't a lot of progression.

Markub El Jaden

Haven't ya'll learned anything from the Demon Slayer reactions? Not because you like a popular shonen anime that doesn't mean it will be good for a reaction for them specifically (especially since it will be in dub)

Jenoze Wyvern

Looking forward to the day where Hunter X Hunter or Kakegurui are in the vote, since both of them has their dubbed version ^^

brosenthalUO

Fruits Basket is a gem with a stellar dub, it would be something that would get Montana's psych brain whurring and have lots of tearbending. Also watching you two watch what is partially a love story would be so cute.

Sam Cam

Spy family’s dub is horrendous keep that in mind

MacarooniR0b
>>103103565

True. I’m usually not a subtitle supremacist, but the sub for Spy x Family is far superior to the dub.

Sam Cam
>>103103565

Same here so hopefully they look into that if spy family wins

Wade Kruse

I’m not sure why people are shitting on the dub, because the Spy X Family cast does a great job. Hope it wins, it’s a fun, wholesome show I think you’d both enjoy.

Matthew clavell

there will always be people that want the sub, the dub isnt that bad stop lyin

Justin Spencer

I’m surprised hxh 2011 isn’t on the list you guys loved fma brotherhood and in terms of themes and characters they have a lot in common it is even a remake like brotherhood attempting to be closer to the source material. It is long fyi

jolly

you guys NEED to add hunter x hunter 2011 to the list!!! it’s a long show but it’s incredible

Mya
>>103127833

I love hunter x hunter but its too longer with too many filler episodes. Id be so bored during some arcs till the action finally happened.

Mya

I would love a reaction to spy x family. It has great topics to discuss I think you two would do well with and every episode is fun!

Tom Horne
>>103127833

There are 2 filler episodes in the entirety of HxH, which are recap episodes. The "boring" episodes you are talking about are crucial to the plot or development, especially later on during the invasion where everything happens super fast, so the anime has to slow things down and show you what everyone is doing. HxH isn't just a combat show, it has a lot of deep themes, especially about humanity.

Jinchuriki87

SO happy to see jujutsu kaisen made it into the running! It's a great show and season 2 starts up soon as well. so by the time yall got through season 1, y'all could probably go straight into 2 at that point or potentially do a reaction to the movie (which was awesome!) Others mentioned it, but hunter x hunter could be a great option. And have yall ever considered doing a longer show (like Naruto or bleach?)

CC

I haven't seen the anime for SpyxFamily or Fruits Basket yet but I read both manga and loved them. Promised Neverland is great too!

Janne

awh man, i LOVE mob psycho 100, its my favourite anime ever TuT that wouldve been awesome, but i dont think its gonna win this lmao! i dont know most of the other shows, so itll be interesting to see :D

Geneva

I voted for spy family but the first season of promised Neverland is really good

John M

Fruits Basket is a must for you guys at some point. Your deep analysis of the characters and story makes this hands down one of the perfect reaction channels to watch this incredible series. I doubt it would ever win a poll against Chainsaw Man, JJK, etc. But I have no doubt you would be hooked after the first 1-2 episodes…

Camilo Mella

Please watch the sub version of Spy vs Family when it wins

Matt Lievens
>>103153824

They've stated a few times that they really can't do subs. They have some audio processing issues that make subs really hard for them to watch

Norrin Radd

There’s some absolute juggernauts on this poll, sheesh! I voted for Promised Neverland because that first season is an absolute masterpiece!

roguegabe

Fruits Basket is the only shoujo on here :( which means its definitely not gonna win🥲 but 100% you will love it

Nekojin

I'm surprised Eminence in Shadow is not amont the choices

Azi

There are a lot of good shows in this poll which makes it really hard to choose just one. Spy Family is leading and I’m sure y’all would love it

Addy Sandoval

Promised Neverland would be a great follow up to Death Note and I think many others would agree. If you like the “cat and mouse” aspects of Death Note.

GM Richter

I always Suggest Code Geass. It is an outstanding anime.

Mariana J

I suggest you read the promised neverland in your own time instead of watching it, simply for the fact that the second half of the anime is not faithful to the manga (or good)

Regular Grayzone
>>103283200

The first season was really good though. Wouldn't it be worth it to only recommend S1 and make it clear that the rest of the story must be explored through the manga?

Regular Grayzone

Code Geass, Cyberpunk, Promised Neverland (NOT S2) and Spy Family Skip S2 of PN.... It just fumbles around, disjointed from the manga.

David L
>>103189514

It definitely has an uphill battle, but I believe we can get there. Totally bias but it's too perfect for this audience not to gain traction.

Tue Zepernick

How about Psycho Pass? It has a really great and deep story, with great intellectual depth, including philosophy, psychology, and state craf. Plus, it has a good english dub, and despite its high production value, not that many has made reactions of it. I think it's right up your alley :)

annie

im so glad jjk is leading 2nd place, i adore that show🥲

RGB_Vector3

Honnestly if you love death note and Avatar, it means you love deep character developpement or storylines. I would recommand a short 1 season anime called Erased

Malea Probus

Soul Eater should be added to this list. It's complete, not too long, and amazing.
