My vote goes to Code Geass, best option for story, as a follow up from DN, and as far as the least amount of fanservice goes among the choices we are presented with. I do hope you guys will pick Code Geass, plus, it'll be a blast for you guys. And I hope you have fun.

One thing that was really cool about the L and Light scene in the rain is it draws back to some religious imagery of Jesus cleaning the feet of Judas before Judas eventually betrayed him

This episode when I watched it for the first time made me so angry, that it took me months to finally go back and finish the show. In my opinion, L is smarter than Light. He knew practically from the beginning that it was Light, but he just couldn’t prove it. Light would’ve never found L had L not came in contact. Light can make elaborate plans, but L has the more difficult job of proving that it was Light. What also infuriated me about this episode was that L specifically said that if he died, Light is Kira, but literally no one believed L. Watching it again with you guys, I can understand now why he wasn’t believed. With the fake rule in the back, it being months upon months from when that’s initially said and when they “clear” his name, and L finally unchaining Light and Misa. I get it, but it still makes me mad. Either way, L will be missed. The rest of the show isn’t as good without him, but it’s ok.

I also don’t see it as a foot fetish thing. I think it’s very clearly supposed to be religious. It just comes off as weird because we’ve never seen L do something like this before.

I honestly feel like a lot of the feet stuff gets pretty fetishy. Like they definitely didn't need to linger that long on playing with his toes a few episodes ago
