Very exciting, these last few episodes. Things are getting really interesting and moving superfast again as they were during the first arc of the show. Great analysis, and I was waiting to see you two just appalled at the audacity of this man when he meets up with his old girlfriend again.

The gun laws in Japan are actually pretty strict. Other than the police and the military, no one in Japan may purchase a handgun or a rifle. Hunters and target shooters may possess shotguns and airguns under strictly circumscribed conditions. The police even check gun licensees' ammunition inventory to make sure there are no shells or pellets unaccounted for.

Never to late or earlier to bring future options into play for after demon slayer or post show after death note. Cowboy Bebop is certainly a classic.

I think what doesn't really translate well in the show and culturally is that Light would be the American equivalent of a rich attractive guy who is a genius and top athlete. On paper aside from the whole Kira thing he's basically the ideal guy that everyone would be after. From our perspective he's a nerd with a God complex but for people like Misa and Takada he is a dream guy.

Aside from the fact that in Japan, guns just aren't that common (as in most of the world), I feel like guns are a more removed weapon and Misa is absolutely that girl who wants to get up close and personal if you try to take her trash man away.

One little fun tibit that I thought you would get a kick out of: Masaru Kitao, the character designer and Chief Animation Director of Death Note actually worked on Attack on Titan Season 4, Episode 20 (his style is really noticeable when Grisha has his breakdown after killing the royal family).

You guys should reexamine what Light said when Takeda announced that Kira will kill people who do not contribute. Light says "it's too early" for stuff like that. In his eventual society after winning, he plans to do this, but Mikami is moving too fast because he doesn't know about Near and Mello yet.
