I'm new to the game but having the BEST time, realized I have never asked y'all what if you all are interested in D&D generally!

Comments

Remix City

I personally watch I lot of dnd content but I’ve never played

Theshyshipper

i love dnd so much i have done 3 homebrew campaigns, been dming for 6 years now

PearseNation

I’ve run/played in a game every other week for about 6 years. It’s really fun when you’ve got a group that works well together!

The Snarky Druid

Big D&D fan! Been playing for years! Its the best!

Suplee215

I just finished another dnd campaign as a dm. I love it and it's amazing. A lot about finding the right dm and group and stuff but yea. Key is communicating what parts of the game you enjoy and stuff. Also this reads more like advice for someone wanting to get in because I thought that was what it was so opps. Yea a great story telling method and leads to some great things. I also hope this helps give legend of vox machina some help as that's based on a dnd game

Dylan The Bear

Fantastic game! Part of 6 campaign rn, DMing one of them, and have DMed 2 homebrew campaigns before :)

Sibelius

Yup, been a player / DM for almost 8 years now.

Tranbärnöjd

I love D&D. Played 3 campaigns and running my first homebrew campaign rn, and it’s a blast.

Fukkyu Bisch

I like DandD, but only because of Critical role, and I started my fascination with them by watching The legend of Vox Machina... To be honest, Vox Machina is the best introduction I can think of to the wacky shenanigans a campaign of D&D Can get into. With that in mind, did you guys have a result for the Western animation poll from a while back?

Corey Porter

I've never played but wanted to since I was maybe 10. Just never was extroverted enough to meet other d&d players

Macarthius

Love the experiences I've had with it but have never been able to find a consistent group to play with

Declan

Love it been planning my own campaign based on The Owl House!

Kevin Canady-Pete

I've home brewed a few campaigns before and have DMed but not for a long time.

Andrew Miano

Me and my friends are in the middle of a campaign. And I'm in the process of writing my own campaign

Harriet W

Absolutely!!! Currently DMing one campaign and playing in another, it's my absolute favorite thing ever

Roy Meulblok

I am currently playing in 2 different campaigns with my longest campaign ending a few months ago, after more then 3,5 years. Also I am one of the proud backers of the Critical Role animated show The Legend of Vox Machina. So yes, I would be interested in D&D generally.

Thomas Shaw

I love D&D!! We are just finishing up a 4-year Starfinder campaign, and are looking to jump back into either 5E D&D, or Pathfinder 2.

Uncle_Tony

I love it!!! I'm currently in a 3 year campaign and still going, finishing soon, but I've loved it all the way through.

Eddy Kubus

Yesssss, I'm a DM in one campaign and a player in another. This is why we have been suggesting vox machina as a reaction for you to do.

Maybe an idea would be via discord? Thats how I play. Granted I met most of the people I play with, but not all. Most of them live too far to do it at someone's house each week so we use discord instead and that works fine most of the time. For big/impartant battles our dm turns on his camera on a battlefield he prepaired or draws out real fast on hexagonal or squared paper. Oh and I am very introverted.

Keygirl13

I'm interested but I've never actually played a game but I listen to D&D podcasts

Craig Payne

Play a lot of D&D and other tabletop RPGs. There's a recent Avatar RPG that might be of interest if you are enjoying D&D

Corey Porter
>>109131022

I've thought about it but I just get too anxious about stuff like not having a good camera setup, audio quality being shit because i can only use my s22, not knowing enough about playing the game or making a character, or even just being overly annoying to the other people in the group

Bradley Hall

Yup big d&d fan here. Who doesn't love writing their own stories. Btw should watch vox machina.

fr0st

Yeah, it's great. So pleased it's becoming more and more mainstream these days and everyone's joining in the fun!

cryptc

Been playing it since I was a kid in the 80ies

Cavan Bryce

Currently run 3 seperate campaigns per week s it fees more like a job than a game

Myles Miller

I ran a campaign for over a year, recently finished playing one that lasted 2.5 years, and am actively playing in 3 others. You could say that I dabble, sure

Jaelyn Mcgee

I love d&d!. I'm currently in three different games at the moment, and have been in a few games that have ran for four years. I tried running my own but unfortunately life and work got in the way. I'd love to see you and Macena react to the Honor among Theives movie. Do you have any class or race you'd be interested in playing?

SweetCandle

I'm not a huge D&D fan, but I play other RPGs. GURPS and Fate are my go to game systems.

Kailor Aurelius

The delighted gasp I gave at this post should tell you something lol. DnD is just fantastic. An amazing outlet for storytellers and for people hoping to explore parts of themselves! I got all my friends into it ages back and now they're all obsessed lol. It's such a great game and 👀 if y'all were gonna do any DnD reactions, I would totally watch. No matter the length!

Leenis

Played dnd 3.5 quite a bit, and then before 4.0 came out, we moved to Pathfinder and never looked back. I have dm'd for years and played almost every Pathfinder class and archtype. I got too busy, but my oldest plays dnd 5e from time to time. The new DnD movie is quite fun, tho some of the ways astute viewers will notice how they interpret rules make it closer to Pathfinder...the superior game !:P

Leenis
>>109131298

Pathfinder player here who dabbled in Starfinder. Everyone moved, and with kids and work, scheduling time to game online just never worked out. I have been curious about Pathfinder 2. I have the books. Ever play it?

Leenis

Anyone use a VTT like Fantasy Grounds?

Zak Moran

Yes! I run a Campaign that plays every Wednesday night, and then I watch the new Dimension 20 episode when we finish haha

Abby

I love D&D!! I'm playing three different campaigns right now!! Also, if you love D&D, maybe you might be interested in reacting to D&D actual play shows in the future? I personally think you'd really like Dimension 20, but a shorter campaign I watched recently that you might like is from Critical Role called Exandria Unlimited: Calamity. It's four episodes long and they're all on youtube for free. It's genuinely some of the best storytelling I've seen in any medium. I'd love if you guys ever reacted to it!

BlueEyedRaven

I've been playing since 1981. I've played every edition except 4. I've also played other role playing games aside from D&D. To me it's like being a character in a story and the story is being written as you play. It's also fun to just be someone else for a while.

Aidan Pullen

I love Tabletop RPGs! I get together with a group of friends and play weekly. One of my favorite things. Right now we're playing Seventh Sea (a pirate game), Cyberpunk Red, Lancer (mech game), D&D, and we're about to do a one-shot of Pathfinder :D

Chimezie Meregini

Played a few games, currently working up the courage to run one though

Soup

DND is great I've been playing it twice a week for four year and it has never lost my interest. Shadowrun and Call of Cthulhu are also great TTRPGs if you want more of a sci-fi or horror spin on things. They're also interesting since they are d6 and d100 systems.

Robin B

Not a player but mostly because I don't have friends who play. Would love to try some campaigns someday!

Silver Kyrie

Love d&d and other tabletop rpgs. Been playing as a player and dm both for maybe 4 or 5 years now

Silver Kyrie
>>109138755

Look online, it’s not too hard to find other people looking to play, and it may some looking around to find a group you connect well with, but eventually you should. It’s a great way to find new friends too

Soup
>>109134748

My groups have had more luck using Foundry VTT, but we've used Fantasy Grounds in the past

Nev

love dnd, playing it for around 12 years now. Also pathfinder starfinder Call of Cuthulu DSA and many more p&p. :D

JennatheBreadQueen

Absolutely love dnd!!! I’ve been playing with a group of my friends for over a year now. It’s a blast

Thomas Shaw

We played through the beginner box to see what the system is like. I really like the 3-action system they introduced. But from our testing, I highly recommend DMs be flexible with it, so when players come up with cool things they want to try, the DM just tells them how many actions it will take. I think that will work out a lot better than being super rigid with the action economy. The one thing I haven't played around with yet is character creation, so I don't know how much or little customization you get with that. But if that process feels good, then I think I will really like the system.

dan bissell

TTRPGS ARE THE BEST! Just fished DMing my first game and absolutely loved it

David Portnov

I enjoy playing it, but I don't like watching it be played.

Alix

i love d&d! i've been playing it since college, and i also watch a lot of d&d liveplay shows (critical role + all of the dimension 20 shows mostly, though i've seen lots of other good ones as well)

JHB

Plenty of D&D (and other fantasy RPG systems) back in HS and college, though as time went on my group tended toward Traveller (which, like D&D, was/is a foundational RPG, but it's science-fiction based, not fantasy based).

Is playing online via Discord not an option? Ofcourse if scheduling could be okay, even for 1 day in the week. My friends and me play via discord from 19:30 till 22:00 usually because we all have our own lives. Most of the time it works well.

Roy Meulblok
>>109135414

Calamity was such a rollercoaster of emotions, holy shit and that ending, amazing.

Roy Meulblok
>>109131022

Most of the time only half the people have their cams on and only the cam of the DM is what really matters to us. We all have good enough headsets and a good working mic isn't hard to get for a cheap price nowadays. I knew almost nothing when I joined those guys, they were really helpful with explaining and the D&D beyond website helps aswell with alot of things. and why do you think you'd be annoying to the others? basicly what I am trying to say is, if there is a will, there is a way. The choice however is yours ofcourse. Nobody, including me can force you to do anything you don't want, since I understand how much it can take you outta your comfort zone. I had a hard time feeling comfy myself at the start.^^

pedro meneghin

D&D and orther TTRPGs are so fun, i might be a little biased but the brazilian ones are my favorite ones

Official Sofzx

I really like D&D And other RPG Systems

Nathan Ganesan

The moment when a new player first says "I" do the thing rather than "my character" does the thing is truly special.

Casey Turner

Love d&d! Usually play once a week

Carl Shotwell

Yea love dnd! Playing and dming several games :)

Jamal Cheatham

I love ttrpgs. Started on pathfinder and Critical Role for D&D. Wish I could play in some games

Alex Wheeler

love it. I just wish I could play more often 🥲

Daniela Marín

I LOVE It!!! I Start playing just a couple months ago 🎉🎉

Ian Cowden

Yes, I am a forever DM

Daolord Badlands

I've participated in one session and watched some videos about it. I like it, it was pretty fun the one time I got to play.

Eclipse_Corp.

Been awhile, but yes I am. Recently though I have moved to Pathfinder.

TheBilbyGuy

I've been running the first game I DM'd for something like 8 years going now, with other games mixed in along the way. Love the game.

Aggro

D&D is so fun, always fun and silly things going on like saving our whole crew from a intergalactic worm dragon thing with a bag of unlimited macaroni and cheese 😂

Data001

I'm also into DnD as in 2 groups. If you want some DnD content to react to then I suggest Jocat's a Crap Guide to DnD.

Placbo2.0

Only have been able to play one good campaign before college ended. Still need to find more people to play with

ADHD_Selkie

I've always been a forever DM for my friends (I grew up playing it with my dad so when my friends in high-school wanted to play I was the only one who knew how it worked lol), but now I'm a player in a regular campaign that's been going for over a year and having the best time. I've been watching Critical Role for 7 years, and also watch/listen to loads of other actual play shows. I love DnD!! 😊

Caseman

I am a DM with about 5 years experience, I love it!

Jaé-De Milton

I'm a huge DnD Fan I got into it by actually being a big fan of several anime Dub voice actors (in particular Travis and Laura who played Roy mustang and Lust in FMA) when I saw a group of voice actors were playing a game together I decided to check out a little show called Critical Role and fell in love with DnD. I've now been DMing for several years and the experience has even helped me make new friends and even get a promotion at work. (Thanks Anime 😅)

Kim Zwiers

i am a dnd player and dm 5 jear every weak like 4/5 ours playing time love it so mutch. i like to look at anime dnd sesions for insperation just fun times

Dso nics

Just last week I finished a 4 year long campaign with my friends and it was so much fun! While I definitely don’t think dnd need to be year long stories, it was well worth the journey for us and I can’t wait to start another one next month.

Magedidelphi

Yes! I've been playing since I first went to undergrad and have been playing since! I'm currently DM-ing my own homebrew world/game (5e) and am in another game run by a friend as a player! Its a big hyperfixation of mine and I enjoy worldbuilding, drawing and writing for DnD! :>

Ashley Garcia

I tried DnD by playing with my brother and my friends, but it took up too much tiiime I couldn’t fully dedicate unfortunately/: but the little bit I did play was super fun I must say

Ela

Meeee

Trutek

You should react to the legend of Vox machina

BLUEMONKEY18

Been DMing for 8 years now, started that way and have loved it ever since!

Bradley Hall

Idk how I missed this but yeah I've been a d&d fan awhile currently working on finishing a campaign for my best friends I've been working on for like 10 years
