100% agree with Montana's take on the injury.

Matt Lievens

I agree with Montana 100% on Iida's arm. It being an anime trope doesn't make it make sense in the context of the universe.

Gestrid

I kinda understand the whole Iida arm thing. It's a physical reminder to help keep him on the right track. Every time he has to deal with it, he'll be reminded of his goal and and he reminded of what he almost became.

Fukkyu Bisch

Hey, kenny and/or Montana, just hopping into the comments to ask if you guys still plan to watch the legend of Vox Machina once you finish gravity falls?

Gwendolyn Vrisala

I wonder if the stockpile quirk was a test on a quirkless person to see how multiple quirks worked in a host body without prior powers.

Marcb92

Kenny and All Might stay cheeked up! 😂

Thyodor Cloudbreath

I see the "AFO giving his younger brother a quirk" like this: The younger brother was sickly and weak, so he gave him a body-strengthening quirk, you do a pushup, you gain 1 strength. The stockpiling quirk itself isn't that powerful. That's why All Might was the first one who won against AFO. The COMBINATION of stockpile and pass-on and time spent adding power is what makes it powerful. As for why AFO didn't see that coming? He genuinely thought his brother was quirkless (and from a meta perspective If villains never make mistakes they're unbeatable, so that's AFO's required Folly)

Rhys Smith

Are you going to be watching the movies ?

Darthwin Wright

Speaking of the peephole, it does raise the question of how long it was potentially there and how long it would have gone unnoticed without someone loudly declaring it existed.

thevoidbender

I love that Montana is on DIY TikTok drama LOL not the kitchen colors

Gestrid

Seeing that you've posted question posts for the first MHA movie, after which episode are you planning to watch it? Because the episode of the show that ties into the movie isn't until the second half of S3.

Looks like it. They just posted question posts for the first movie.

Yeah, that's how I interpreted it as well. He was being a cheeky dickhead and ended up sowing the seeds of his own downfall

Christopher Collier

Hey Kenny, after demon slayer ends are you guys gonna do another poll, or have you guys decided on the next show the way you did with gravity falls? Cause if not you should probably put up that poll. Not trying to bug, just trying to help :)

>>120171837

They generally do voting ahead of time to decide on the new shows, unless they say otherwise

Fukkyu Bisch
>>120171837

Well, Vox Machina did place 2nd in the poll, and they did say they were somewhat curious, and that they would, so I'm just making sure it's still the plan.

T Parker

I think All for One gave his brother the stockpiling quirk as a "join me"/corruption/"see how good the power feels" type thing.

fr0st

My opinion of the reason was that the younger brother was kind of like Deku and the compounding power was assumed to be something that he would feel compelled to use and it would destroy his body and that's why the older brother thought it would be an ironic gift that destroys you if you use it but joke's on him.

Given historical anime, I feel like it would absolutely be a thing that all the guys knew existed and never reported and it was a funny little benefit (based on historical shonen anime finding the idea of peeping on women bathing being super funny and normal to do) :/

Yeah this is what I think too. AFO can give anyone as many quirks as he wants so I think it's also possible he could give the stockpile quirk on it's own without also giving all the powers connected to it. Alternatively maybe he just gave it to his brother right after he stole it. Since he's practically immortal (or at least thinks he is) that probably seemed like a useless quirk to him- he can just keep stealing quirks forever that have much greater power from the start. On it's own the Stockpile quirk wasn't that great, it's only because it can be passed down that it became so strong.

monkeyman

i always thought he gave his brother stockpiling as a way to use him as a back up spot to hold quirks that he didn't need atm. more of fu your now my back pack

DthDisguise

My interpretation of the situation with All For One and One For All's origin was that the Power Accumulation Quirk was that AFO was giving his brother a "Useless" quirk. Like, it allows you to save up power like winding up a spring, but he'd only be able to store up his one lifetime's worth of power. It was meant as like a sick joke: Giving his quirkless brother who wanted to fight against him a "useless" ability.

One for all is kinda busted

L.C.

You guys react to this kind of stuff without thinking about the fact that these series are originally made for teenage or young adult MALES. You have the option to not like mineta but their isn't any need to act like it is a terrible thing to have horny comedy. Its always been a thing. Much much worse horny perverted anime/manga compared to this. Mainstream American audience don't understand how manga and anime work unfortunately. I understand you both aren't fans of it though and that is fine. Just don't try to act like the series needs to be defended like they are trying to make a character like mineta the bad person. He is the horny comedic relief type of character. Nothing new to shonen series made for young boys

I don't expect everyone to think the same way though. And it can be said that putting that type of content in boys entertainment is a bad thing but the amount of stupid shit teenage boys do along with myself is not far from how mineta can act. Mineta is an exaggerated version but no matter who it was all the boys at some point a few years back in middle and high school were horny and weird about it and acted stupid with that type of stuff. Its more harmless than anything else is what I mean.

yeah that makes the most sense. Stockpiling isnt really any good if what youre stockpiling is super weak, so to AFO, his brother wouldnt be able to gain much

Martin M

It was a big "fuck you" from his brother because to give a sickly weak person a stockpiling power would be like giving a homeless man a savings account. You have no power to stockpile and unlikely ever will.

Blaster man1129

I busted out laughing out loud when Montana said one for all was a collection of several quirks and Kenny couldn't say ANYTHING

ryan davis

i always thought, that because all for ones brother was so set against him, he might of hoped giving his brother a quirk would fry his brain and force him into servitude, and giving him a stockpile quirk would be the safest option

Ferret

So the thing about the stockpiling quirk is that I don't think the "power" being stockpiled is quirks, I think it's just raw energy. Like, it just builds up a reservoir of energy that can be used to supercharge your existing quirk, or in the case of All Might and Deku, be converted into raw physical strength. That's also why Full Cowling also comes with an aura of lightning, because Deku (shredded as he is) isn't nearly on the level of Muscles McGee that All Might is, the energy he's channeling manifests around him instead of all being contained in his body.

Marina B

I CANNOT BELIEVE that Montana’s mind immediately went to that and already called it IM SCREAMING LOL
