Originally I skipped this episode because I was more excited to see what happened with Gang Orca. Didn’t watch until after I saw the movie.

So, a little bit of backstory on why this episode is placed where it is in the season... and why Midoria and All Might are wearing yellow shirts: The network that was airing My Hero Academia in Japan at the time had an annual fundraiser (for what, I don't know; and I also don't remember the name of the fundraiser), and it just so happened to fall on the day when MHA usually airs on the network. However, during the fundraiser, only things related to the theme of the fundraiser we're allowed to air. MHA would've had to take the week off. So, instead of doing that, they created this tie-in episode for the movie that fit the theme of the fundraiser and aired it instead. On-camera people also wore the yellow T-shirt, the fundraiser's T-shirt. Edit: I found what the fundraiser's name was. It's a 24-hour marathon titled "Love Saves The Earth" that airs on Nippon TV ("Nippon" being Japanese for, well, Japan), which is why this My Hero Academia episode was themed about love.

thank you for the context! I always thought the placement was weird, and just for a tie-in to the movie.
