Keyblade

I am just a few arcs ahead. I couldn't hold myself back and watched the entire Shie Hassaikai arc in one go. Waiting for the reactions now will be so agonizing >.<

Scar

Interesting thought to share with Kenny but have you ever made the connection like I have with Aizawa talking to his students near the end telling them he wanted to suspend their work studies when he learned the LOV was involved? That made me immediately think of his work study we learned about in season 5…

Ryan Tolbert

this arc is really some of the best of mha 🤍🤍🤍

NasOKM

Moments like this are what make Deku a great character. There are often moments where he does things 100% right and there are good outcomes and bad outcomes, but you can see his growth throughout the show on how he handles them

Danny C

Man, hearing Montana get emotional just thinking about Eri’s situation was pretty heartbreaking. This just feels like one of those arcs that are designed to have an amazing payoff from the get-go. Can’t wait for the rest of the story to play out

elle_pichouette

This episode was the beginning of my still huge Aizawa (Dadzawa) obsession 😅

Danny C
>>130383014

Couldn’t agree more 🥲 But at least we get 2 episodes a week!

Danny C
>>130383029

What’s the connection you’re trying to make? I never realized they were specifically connected. More so he was traumatized and wants to look out for the kids

Scar
>>130383029

That’s exactly the connection I was making lol. He doesn’t want what happened to him to happen to any of his students. It’s just a theory but I think it’s interesting he was fine with the work studies until he learned they could be targeted again then changed his mind again when he saw how determined Deku was to save someone that he sees as he failed to do

Assel Haider

Momo does not create things out of nothing, She uses her body fat, or something like this. So the quirks are a bit more similar than you implied. But of course not the same.

Gdawg88

I totally agree that they should have saved Eri then and there, especially given later events; however what would they have done? They had no evidence of Chisaki doing anything. At best they believe Eri, otherwise they would have had to given her back to Chisaki, putting her in the same situation except now he is even more strict given the fact he knows the heroes are watching him, making it even harder to save her again. Although I don't necessarily agree, it probably was for the best that they didn't save her then.

Casey Turner

So excited we are finally in this season! Unrelated, but are you guys still considering Hazbin Hotel?

Mark Romero

I heard a Percy Jackson reference. When are we getting the reactions?!?!?

Letts React
>>130387192

I guess you’re right, but it’s not like her body fat=the mass of what she creates, so in a way she is generating things

Danny C
>>130383029

Ahh gotcha. Yeah I've noticed that's pretty much his whole character arc (for the moment), which is really nice to see, cause at the end of the day, they're all still kids.

Danny C
>>130387192

Yeah, Momo's quirk isn't a 1:1 mass reproduction, it's more so like an energy meter? Overhaul is more so like alchemy, but without changing chemical properties

Seth

This could be a fun little series you should go back to threw the series intro and re listen and rank them tier list style i feel that would be fun

the raven

I think it will be hard to only do 1 reaction as you have scheduled it. The next few episodes are cliff hangers till the climate

Robin B

Hey Kenny, about what you hear in the intro song: You're right the syllabus "DEKU" are said, however it's not about Izuku, the full word is "DEKURE" (I can read the hiraganas in the subtitles). However, I have absolutely no idea what it means lmao

Jinchuriki87
>>130396451

My exact thoughts when they brought it up! I LOVE the books, but have yet to watch the series because the trailers made me weary of it. Would definitely be cool with a Lett's react to Percy Jackson!

Jinchuriki87

This arc is so incredibly deep with the roller coaster of emotions it puts you though until the end. Can't wait to see more reactions!!! (Thanks for answering my question!)

Gestrid
>>130387192

More specifically, it's the lipids in her body. Wikipedia describes lipids as, "a broad group of organic compounds which include fats, waxes, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins (such as vitamins A, D, E and K), monoglycerides, diglycerides, phospholipids, and others." So it's not *just* fats, but also a bunch of other stuff the body uses in various processes.

Gestrid

Percy Jackson reference spotted. 👀

Looking at the "Anime Song Lyrics" website (anime song lyrics dot com) , it's not "dekure". It's actually part of two separate words, "kienaide kure". According to their translation, the full line that that phrase is apart of says, "So please don't give up on me and disappear." From what I can tell, the full song might be from Deku's point of view.

Mark Romero
>>130396451

Really? The trailers are what made me excited for it! Look, is it one to one.. No of course not. Did the writers take some creative liberties.. Yeah, I suppose so. But honestly as an adaptation, it takes what was great about the books and really does it justice. If you go into it expecting a recreation of what your mental image of the books is then of course you're going to be disappointed.

Edwin Andrade

I'm so excited for montanas (and Kenny's let's be real) inevitable tears this arc

Red reader

Beatles reference at 3:07 :D

Rick

I've always went under the assumption overhaul works on the rule of equivalent exchange

Rick
>>130388243

foolishness. you have a child holding on to you saying don't let him take me. you get her away from him she starts saying more, hes not my dad, hes a bad man who hurt me, no record of the man having a daughter. plenty of reason not to give her back

Assel Haider
>>130387192

i just wanted to make clear that the stuff does not come from nothing. And my englisch is good by hearing, but writing......i was just to lazy to write more details xD. (i am from Austria. But i live in Germany)

Markub El Jaden

A good way to understand Overhaul's Quirk is to think about it like how Alchemy works in FMA:B.

Blake N
>>130388243

Rick, you need to think more. I'll ignore the fact that you gave a spoiler just now and speak in more general terms. But she didn't say any of that. She just said "Please don't go." Nothing else. And they didn't know anything about Overhaul. You just made up a ton of stuff. The decision was right in the moment. They found a little girl running away from her dad. She was bandaged, but you have no evidence she was harmed by her father, and she doesn't say anything about that. She also runs back to be with him. If they tried to stop her, not only do they ruin the investigation (when they have no evidence), and try to arrest a man without any probable cause (meaning they'd lose their license), the would have almost certainly died then and there. Deku could not do a thing against Overhaul in that alley. Mirio is amazing, but unclear what he could do with a bunch of civilians he needs to protect and without even knowing what Overhaul's quirk is. Your entire argument is illogical.

Shynerdycactus

Honestly I always get so emotional about Eri too. It would have been so easy for him to actually act as a father figure and raise her to be loyal but even that would have been too much of an effort I guess. At the shallowest level any affection would be an investment in her future with the organization. It just shows how she means literally nothing to him beyond her quirk, not even as a human being let alone a child.

Jake Clerico

That scene with Deku and Aizawa is one of my favorites😭

Rob Carlstrom
>>130396451

Definitely give it a shot! Every complaint I have about it comes back to it being a little childish... but like it should be lol. Very fun and it really was about as faithful you could get, it has the same spirt of the book and that (in my opinion) is what makes a great adaptation!

Jake Clerico
>>130396451

I really enjoyed the show, even with the changes that were made! I actually think some of those changes made for a better overall story

Jake Clerico

I also wanna say that it's a little unfair to say Deku and Mirio made the wrong decision there. Knowing what we know about Chisaki's quirk, the chances they'd have made it out alive are slim to none. Giving Nighteye and the other heroes time to prepare and plan gives them a much higher chance of success. Obviously it's an awful situation and an impossible decision to make, but ultimately they did the right thing

Christopher Johnson
>>130588725

I'd actually put their chance of beating Chisaki at like 70% at a minimum in that situation. The problem is more about civilian casualties than Deku and Mirio.

Mekar

The line you're talking about is お願いどうか消えないでくれ onegai お願い　- strong wish douka どうか - please kienai 消えない - Don't disappear dekure でくれ - Can The full sentence is along the lines of "My great wish is that you please won't disappear." The whole song sounds like Deku speaking to Eri lyrically. This is similar to the できる dekiru that Uraraka assumes he takes his name from. As far as tone in Japanese: No, it doesn't have it. At least not the same way that Mandarin does. Japanese has pitch accent and mores. Pitch accent is something that English has informally though so it's not as weird as it seems and mores are kinda weird at first coming from English but if you've studied Mandarin you're already surely familiar with them.

>>130588725

Deku and Mirio were aware of Chisaki’s quirk it’s why Mirio wanted to back down and play it safe. By all means Deku and Mirio had the advantage as Chisaki didn’t know their quirks and was all alone. Civilian casualties were a concern, but given how well Mirio did in his 3v1 they most likely would have won

Knight

Overhaul quirk alchemy 😂

H-Bomb 24

Man, the reveal of what Overhaul was really doing with Eri gets me every time. It makes me so sad and SO PISSED OFF.

joshua

Just realized a massive plot hole in the show, Nighteye can only use his quirk on one person a day..... He definitely uses it on multiple people though in later episodes.

Logan Prime

Gran Torino only worked as a hero for a year and mainly got into hero work because of Nana. That's why he's not well known

Logan Prime
>>131937381

He can see someone's whole future per day in that one moment he uses it. But there is a loophole that most people didn't see in later episode. Its not a plot hole

Isis
>>131674995

oh my god i know like look at shigaraki if he had done what all for one had done he could have done what he had wanted

Aug

Nighteyes fears are valid. I think with knowing the future the fear is not knowing if stepping in or doing nothing causes that future. It’s like with shrodingers cat. Until you open that box theres no way of knowing if you are making the correct decisions to get the future you want or if youre playing into the future you saw.
