Vanilla Races Expanded is a brand new series of mods to enhance Biotech features, add to the storytelling and the world-building of RimWorld, and to introduce new, cool types ofxenohumans, complete with their own unique genes, behaviors, mechanics and items. This mod adds a new race called Saurids, featuring xenohumans with lizard characteristics. A number of new genes will allow players to turn their pawns into cold-blooded scaly monstrosities, whilst a new Saurid faction will be added alongside the Outlander factions and will provide a steady supply of Saurids for the players that desire it.Genetically spliced with synthesized dinosaur genetic material for improved compatibility with arid environments, saurids are cold-blooded isolationists with harsh voices and extremely low metabolisms. Their sharp claws and hardened scales make them particularly suited to melee encounters. For workers looking for higher-wage jobs, saurid xenogerms are offered alongside employment packages to particularly arid and hot planets. As conditions are quite harsh, they experience an attitude shift to be less social and consume fewer calories which allows them to be more profitable. As they are not excluded from starting families, saurids can communicate with each other using pheromones and are oviparous to reduce medical complications caused by lack of proper social infrastructure.

I really like this mod and would love to see more like it. Will the Hussar and Sangu faction focus on adding more genes or Faction related gear? I would love the former because the gene system seems so new and underutilized in mods. Subtypes of the Hussar and Sangu base xenos would be cool.

I love the idea of the new races and I am curious about what you will introduce/expand on. Regarding the Saurid: Have you (at least shortly) considered to make them a *jungle race*, while designing them? (Impids are desert adopted humans already.) But that's just a sidenote. What I (as a biologist) find rally problematic is, that cold-blooded xenohumans would find heat unpleasant. Have you ever seen a lizard bathing in the sun? They *love* heat and the hotter they are, the better their metabolism works. Obviously, it's too by far late for changes. But possibly even increasing their cold malus (obviously I don't know, how serious it is currently), let them move faster when hot and possibly granting them resistance against tropical deseases (sleeping sickness) might have been a nice concept. Anyway, I will surely love these "reptilians" (the human eggs! :D) and am heading towards Steam now in order to subscribe to yet another Vanilla Expanded mod!

I really like these guys, they look great. Have you guys thought of making like a chameleon person? IDK how plausible it would be, but they could change color randomly when not drafted, then when drafted or hunting they change color to the ground they are standing on, giving an effect on hunting stealth and similar to the ghillie suit in VE clothing. Maybe I just like chameleons. apologies if that is incredibly unplausible, really looking forward to the other races and what else yall have in store for us!

Love the idea of new race packs! So far with Biotech I've enjoyed playing as the Pigskin race. Their immunity to food poisoning and disease resistance really helps out in the early game while their downsides are pretty manageable. Though, I notice with their Trotter Hands disadvantage that the -25% to manipulation doesn't go away if you give them bionic arms. Would it be possible to mod it so that the various races can lose their advantages/disadvantages based on what bionic parts they have? Like the Trotter Hands being 'cured' by just replacing the pawns hands with better prosthetics, or the nearsightedness being fixed with bionic eyes (or even something like glasses)? The idea of Pigskins being more prone to body modding sounds nice due to their boosted immunity, pain reduction, physical disadvantages, and the lore stating that they were originally created as a source of transplantable organs.

Great, I don't even know why I haven't expected that you'd make Vanilla Races Expanded, since I have not followed RimWorld for a while. Thank you, once again. Quick question, since this mod adds a new faction as well, does the faction (as well as other factions from the VE series) have any Ideology limits? I remember rolling peaceful Vikings some time ago and I was wondering if VE introduced factions have limited Ideologies or required Ideologies (like Cannibals have Cannibalism required or Unions have certain Ideologies required - you can see the whole graph on the Ideologion RimWorld wiki tab) and, if not, would you think that as a good feature or is it intended/doesn't matter that you can have peaceful Vikings etc?

As always: might not be the right place, i apologize in advance, but: are there plans to make some vanilla clothing expanded clothes compatible with children, for example the baseballcap?

When I look at the description of Saurids on the Reward Preferences tab, I can read a description of the race. At the bottom, "Member Xenotypes" says "100% Saurid, 10% Impid, 5% Hussar, 2.5% Neanderthal" If those numbers are being pulled from the code, the Saurid colonies might not be behaving the way you wish. If it's just a written statement somewhere, it might be worth updating just for clarity. Please let me know if I can provide information in a different/better way. There's no hugslib report that I've experienced associated with it.

Got some questions about VE Nutrient Paste: - Will there be 3 types of storage tanks, respecting the source ingredient-type (Meat, Vegetable, Animal Product)? - Will there be something akin to a flavour module that can give a marginal (like +1) mood boost for the cost of power and a marginal increased nutrition cost? - Will there be advanced dispensers capable of at least Fine Meal equivalents?
