Dear Patrons,

I hope this message finds you well. As the holiday season approaches, I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your continuous support and encouragement. Your help has been invaluable to us, and we truly appreciate all that you do.

Without your support, we wouldn't be where we are today. We are constantly amazed by the enthusiasm and dedication of our community, and we are truly grateful to have such wonderful people backing us.

As you may know, our team will be taking a short break over the holidays to recharge and spend time with our loved ones. We'll be back in 2023 with new ideas and plans for our mods.

We have big plans for the next year, and we're excited to share them with you. First up, we'll be releasing Vanilla Factions Expanded - Empire, a mod that overhauls the Empire faction added by the Royalty DLC. We've been working hard on this mod and we can't wait for you to try it out. We're also working on Vanilla Vehicles Expanded, a mod that everyone has been waiting for, which will add vehicles to RimWorld. This has been a highly requested feature, and we're thrilled to finally be able to bring it to you. I expect it to release shortly after Vanilla Factions Expanded - Empire!

In addition to these, we'll be focusing on supporting Biotech with new content, such as new xenotype mods, and continuing work on the Ultratech faction and eventually Arkology. We're also considering either a Tribal faction mod or Archotech faction mod, but this is still undecided.

We're also planning to release a massive diplomacy overhaul in 2023, which will completely change how faction diplomacy works and breathe new life into the political games in RimWorld. We've received a lot of feedback and requests on this aspect of the game, and we believe this mod will make a huge difference. If we have enough time, we'd also like to tackle a Vanilla Medical Expanded mod, which will revamp the medical system and introduce new diseases and health conditions. This is another highly requested feature, and we're excited to finally be able to bring it to you.

Finally, I'm excited to announce that Cursed Crew, the game I'm working on, is scheduled to release a demo version within the next days, followed by an Early Access version in 2023. This has been a labor of love for me, personally, and I can't wait for you to try it out.

We understand that the speed of mod releases has slowed down recently, but we want to assure you that this is because we've decided to favor quality over quantity. We want to ensure that everything we release is top notch, both in terms of design and code. We know that you have high expectations for our mods, and we want to deliver the best possible experience. We will soon host a creative competition where winners will receive a physical copy of Vanilla Lore Expanded, a book we have written a few months ago. The competition will have several categories, and a winner of each will be awarded with a book - so don't worry if you're not good at art, or writing. There will be something for everyone!

Thank you again for your support. We look forward to continuing to bring you new and exciting content in the coming year.

Wishing you all a happy holiday season and a fantastic 2023.

Best regards, Oskar Potocki

Guy, I have been WANTING to play rimworld, the way I want to, nearly 10 years now. Every year I graduate, or get a new job, or transfer another state, and every year i put off buying tbis screaming single core machine ill need to have my 3/4 colomy mega complex. Every mobth since ive subscribed, youve kept me knowing this isnt a stupid endeavor. Someday, Ill get to do what I want. Your mods let me know Im not the only one. Your mods let me know people also want what I want. You kept me sane during covid despite the 4 pawn max my laptop had. I owe YOU. Happy Holidays. You are loved from Chicago, previously Louisiana, prevuously D.C. , previously a biochem student. Yes, thats how long rimrowrld/tbis community has kept me going. Cheers sir.

Apologies for asking, and I do not do it with the intention of breaking the happy spirit, but will the toxic attacks/freezing psycasts be fixed? Since empire and diplomacy overhauls will come out soon/eventually, it means that if we make an enemy of them, we'll be more likely to see psycasts on the rim and the freezing ones apply hypothermia to insects and robots as much as they do to others, while toxic attacks can inflict poison upon your mechs (from what I've last had last time I've been attacked by cave crawlers and used my psyker) Anyways, I wish you guys a nice break and fun with your family! You guys all deserve it

Thank you so much. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Love how the vanilla expanded series has grown and expanded. The only thing I’ve found to be a consistent issue/nuisance is the “bloat” that occurs when a majority of the mods are active. What I’m trying to ask is do you have any long term plans to make vanilla expanded mods feel better when all of them are active.l

Guns Galore

Hope you and everyone else have an exciting Christmas and New Year! You guys are the best. Intriguing to hear that you're considering a Tribal faction - last I heard it asked about, I remember you (or maybe another VE dev) saying the tribal content wasn't deep enough to make a new faction experience worthwhile. Excited to see what new ideas you've cooked up that could've changed that.

Noisy Koi

Will the diplomacy revamp do anything like Stellaris' war mechanic?

TheFirstLuka

I would definitely love to see a archotech mod. Happy holidays!

Happy holidays, All of this news is fantastic to hear. Particularly excited to hear about the political expansion, but all of this is great news! Enjoy your holidays and time away, its a well deserved break!

God I love Rimworld

Can confirm (for those interested in the contest) the book is quite nice. Also, am I right in assuming ultratech is above glitterworld, but beneath archotech?

Comton

Happy holidays to you guys ! Will it be possible to compete without the book award ? I have one but I'm willing to participate just for the fun !

Stim

You guys enjoy yourselves in the break. I am still eagerly awaiting vehicles, but nice to hear empire is getting a hit. That throne was spiffy. And a diplomacy mod? Damn... keep up the good work, happy new year and I'll see you guys when you get back.

Marwin33

thank for all your work. have a pleasant end of the year.

The_F

Thank you very much for the huge amount of content you and your team brought to rimworld with the VE-Series. Rimworld is a great game in itself but with your mods it has become even better. I hope you have great festive days and a nice little break from modding until 'recreation fully satisfied' (+10).

PaperClipChip

Happy holidays Vanilla Expanded. Thanks for the amazing year!

I CANNOT WAIT!!! So much good stuff coming. My modlist will be overflowing!

Would you ever consider adding new body types/shapes to the game as genes? For example, maybe another faction of reptilian xenohumans than have the lower half of a snake as their bodies? This would lead to new attacks like coiling around enemies to stun them??? Idk, I think it would add a lot of aesthetics and usefulness to the game… what do you think?
