Here is the recording of this month's Q&A session! I loved this session, there were so many recurring themes like imposter syndrome, mental health and positivity towards one's own art that kept coming back. These are themes that are so important to me, so it was nice to be able to talk about them!

Some of the topics covered in this session:

How to make stiff sketches more fluid

How drawing at different sizes affected my approach towards art

Contour hatching and conveying volume

Artistic burnout and injuries and how to prevent them

Advice for my 16 year old self

Gatekeeping art, and what is "real" art

Inspiring illustrators that draw everyday topics

How to switch from copying what you see to interpreting what you see

I missed a couple of questions that were posted here in the Patreon comments - my apologies for that! I will take them to the next session ❤ In the meantime you can also post your questions for next month's session in the #ask-loish channel!

Back. Having my coffee and watching from my local Starbuck’s/Loveland, CO. A great way to start my week. Enjoying this Q&A.

You mentioned keeping that human (touch/element) when creating digital art.👍🏻 I’m finding that I use the Procreate tools just as I would when I draw or sketch (and to a degree even ‘paint’) with traditional mediums. I’m thinking you experience this also? Your knowledge and skills with traditional mediums would naturally lend themselves and be incorporated into your digital work…..even when you push your stylization of most of the drawings and paintings you create. That is one (of many reasons) your work is so appealing.👍🏻 That is also one of the reasons Schiele’s work is so interesting. Even today.

Your Sept Q&A just concluded. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

Thank you for answering my question about giving art advice to your teenage self. It would be great to see a video essay expanding on "real/valid art," staying true to yourself, and gatekeeping in the art community.

How does one get access to the Discord?

Thank you for answering my question (first question this vid)! I love that you included the feedback of my example gestures, this was very helpful.

It was such a wonderful session! Really hoping you have a process video for the factory one :)

Thanks for this. There were a lot of questions that resonated with me. I’m on a journey to get into art/illustration after spending the last 20 years as a graphic designer. I look forward to the next one!

Thanks for the lovely Q & A session Loish! Also a big yes from me about doing a whole month of traditional art, would love to see more traditional pieces from you! :D

Thankyou :) Also really appreciate offering the downloads at the end of each month. I have a neuro disease that affects my memory so I can only remember what I learn in tutorials by rewatching them so that helps a lot

1:20:00 - I’m a flame patron and the only thing I could’ve found time to watch this year is your QAs and some tutorials. For me your Patreon is about community and supporting the artist. I can get any content I want for free bc I know how to look for it, but I just simply don’t do that because I want to support everything you do for the community and meet other artists!!
