Hey guys! I’m recovered from my (non-covid) cold, so I’m back at it this week! Thanks for your kind words on my last post! Here are some super quick studies of skies in photoshop, based on reference images taken on my phone. Trying to challenge myself to draw quickly and not get stuck on the details. I want to do more of these and improve my skills with these quick speedpaints. I always find clouds to be difficult, I usually end up over-rendering them! Hope you like these.

Please upload a cloud tutorial 🥺

The shapes are amazing! Did you use a specific brush or did you outline them?

Fizzbit

Glad you're feeling better!

I love the dynamics of your artwork. Even clouds sketches have movement in them. You’ve used lasso tool here as well, I presume?

I'd love to get tutorials or process videos on your landscape-esque paintings like these, they look amazing!

Rachel Hanke

These are lovely, did you set a time limit for yourself when working on them?

Lois, I'm going through your previous cloud speedpaints and wow, the things I've learned from you. You're such a giving person and I hope other artists with large platforms also follow your openness and transparency

Welcome back! I love the softness of these clouds, it gives it a exaggerated feel to make the viewer really experience the clouds in a different way. I have always admired the way you paint and wish to not over render my own works haha.

Your sky studies are stunning! It’s interesting how they give off different vibes. I hope you stay well!

Loish

for these I did! i had about an hour and 20 mn to work on them so that's how long they took to make - about 40 mn each.

Loish

thanks so much scott!

Loish

yep! i'm addicted to it now haha.

Something that I could do with my pictures of sky ...

Nathammer

It happens the same to me. I get lost over-rendering background elements and in the end I don't usually like how they turn out :/

Do you have any skies tutorials or process videos?
