Hey patrons! Next month is coming closer and so it's time to decide what the November tutorial should be about! I got a few requests and tried to include as many of them as I could in the poll, but if your preferred option isn't listed, feel free to drop it in a comment below!

Would painting and rendering in photoshop be a future option as well? I wish I had an iPad, procreate looks like a lot of fun 😭

definitely! there would be a lot of overlap with the procreate process, so you could apply the same principles to photoshop.

Hello! As someone who's just started painting digitally, a rendering tutorial would be very much helpful! I feel like I always tend to overly focus on rendering one area of the artwork more than the others. :<

I've been spending a lot of time in your two books of late. You have shown/explained how you decide or select your portrait colors in the book but an actual video demonstrating this would be amazing. I know you have a color theory video already but something specifically geared for portraits/skin tones would be terrific. Specifically, how you're able to paint with non-skin colours (blues and purples etc) but still have the image read beautifully? That's the secret I would love.

I would love to know how you tackle environments with a bit of explanation in your thought process in deconstructing refs images! I've watched all your videos here, but I wouldn't really mind a bit of an explanation on how you do some things you do!

Enviroments would be the one for me. I don't own an Apple product with Procreate on and whilst I know it's a popular app, I would prefer a tutorial you could use on multiple platforms.

@ Emily. Yes I know that color theory video is there. I mentioned I was aware of that in my O.P. That particular video uses traditional colours for the skin tones. My post described a request for painting portraits in non-realistic colors.

I would love a tutorial on rendering specifically. Establishing different planes and rendering them with a consistent lighting/ coloring is something I’m struggling with.

I'd prefer more general application tutorials since I don't have Procreate and rarely use Photoshop (I can at least use PS if I want to though, I don't have an iPad (or an iAnything for that matter)).

Super sure that hair and procreate are more interesting to your audience here :) I'm an environment artist and seeing your studies was really inspiring. If you ever gert around to environments I'd be super interested in how you approach stylization. Your images have a lot of flow and nice shapes so I'm super curious about your desicion making.

there will definitely be an environment tutorial at some point in the future! might have to wait a little bit in favor of the more popular ideas but I think it would be super fun to make an environment one.

I'm sorry but I don't own an ipad or use procreate so while your videos are good. I cannot follow along and have to think of how to do what you do but in photoshop instead...so my vote goes for the other three...

Wasn't last tutorial on procreate too? I really wish tutorials could always be software-independant, But I understand that some parts of the process are all about some software tools so it ok if that's needed. I do hope not to get two procreate tutorials in a row though, since I don't own an iPad. But democracy. Right? haha. I voted for the other three but I wish environment wins cause I love your backgrounds. I actually voted animals first but that seems unlikely considering the current poll status
