Another episode of Sixteen. Nice! I'm always down for more JYP girl groups. I stan them all.

Excited for the next one! <3

I think most onces wouldn't mind it, Itzy has some good music and yeah Lee Chaeyeon is a crazy good dancer, she was the main dancer for Iz*one as well.

30:13 they have some theads on twitter and compilation videos on yt, my favorite moment was when they performed born this way (nayeon, jeongyeon, chaeyoung and mina) on their first world tour 😂

I know you're mostly just asking about whether there'd be a backlash from Onces if you react to Itzy because you don't want to start unnecessary fandom drama. But my god does that line of thinking drive me INSANE. Personally, I feel like engaging in that side of toxic fandom has only led to regret in the long term. Like I could've enjoyed 2ne1 while they were active but decided not to because I was a Sone and therefore 'wasn't allowed'. And then it was the same with A Pink. And theoretically I suppose, should've been the same with Twice, but for whatever reason, I didn't bother boycotting. It's a completely meaningless thing to do. These newly debuted children aren't hurting your group and checking them out ISN'T disloyalty to your bias group. I just wish people who DO engage in this behaviour would realise that they're the only ones they could be hurting by doing this and maybe they might be depriving themselves of something they'd really love.

Tzuyu's photo actually makes the most sense to me as an idol photo. I keep seeing that golf club and thinking it's a mic. Personally I think she nailed it.

What's particularly annoying about the Jihyo weight comments is that JYP should KNOW that isn't where her weight normally sits. There's nothing wrong with her weight but she gained extra weight due to the stress of 6Mix's debut falling apart. Everyone's weight fluctuates anyhow and it doesn't matter but it's a non-issue because JYP has seen her grow up and should KNOW that this is not the norm for her and once she debuts and starts actively promoting, that weight would fall right off of her...

Chaeyeon is, I think, the queen of survival shows at this point. Prior to Sixteen, she was on K-Pop Star, then Sixteen, then Produce 48, then Street Woman Fighter and then Queendom Puzzle. I think she must be an incredibly strong young woman. JYP never debuts siblings together. Ostensibly because it would knock off group dynamics to debut a group who are still getting to know one another, meanwhile you have siblings there who are thick as thieves. However personally I think it's probably so that one family won't have oversized influence on contract negotiations. Knowing that, Chaeyeon left JYP so that Chaeryoung could debut with Itzy. She knowingly took the more riskier and uncertain path in order for her sister to debut.

The female judge is Son GaIn. She's the maknae of Brown Eyed Girls, one of the very first second gen girl groups (2006. Although if you consider 2007 with WonSoKa the beginning of 2nd gen, I guess they're very late first gen). They're iconic for having a sexy grown woman concept at a time that groups like S.E.S were going for a clean, fresh fairy concept. If you remember Momo's 'Paradise Lost' cover from episode 2, that was one of GaIn's solo songs.

I wouldn't be too concerned about your opinions lining up a lot with JYP at the moment. Now, if you suddenly decide you need to invest in plastic pants & leather underwear and/or see through shirts and nipple tape...maybe that should give you pause. But for the moment I think you're fine lol.

Let me tell you, Nayeon recorded Santa Tell Me a few years later and her improvement was astounding! She was every bit as good as Ariana! And she did another Ariana cover that is also on the same level. So don't even try to tell me she doesn't have that kind of voice!! Ugh

Minyoung's problem this entire show is her confidence. I think JYP started to see that before their initial group was to debut and that's why he pulled them into this competition. I don't know what you were listening to, but her performance was bad. And you could tell from Jihyo and Nayeon's reaction, they knew it too.

14:05 yes yes, onces and mitzys get a long pretty well
