Happy Birthday To MEEE!!!!

I spent this morning watching episode 1 of Bon Voyage!
Sorry this is posted a little later in the day than usual - I decided to sleep in on my b-day!  I pre-recorded all of In The Soop but now these reactions are in real-time!
So i'll be able to see your comments/feedback and make any changes for future videos!

But.  So far I LOVE Bon Voyage!  It's so fun and I love the behind cams!
(not to be confused with Jibooty cams)

Austin!

PS - The audio/video quality gets better.  Episode 0 isn't as good because it's a fan-download.   EP1 is fine.

Happy birthday!!! And I like when someone watches In the Soop first and then watches Bon Voyage because the dichotomy between seeing where they are now to when they were really starting to get poplar is fun. Season 2 & 4 are my personal favorites but season 1 is the one I've seen the most. I rewatched after all the episodes had come out and it was also when I didn't have a full time job so I could just watch it whenever it wanted (had the time).

In South Korea, you are a year older on every January first, and when you are born you're already one year, coming of age day is special because it's only for people that turned 19 Years the Year before. It's on the third Monday of May. He is Officially an Adult now.

Happy Birthday! Watching baby bangtan will be fun for you after seeing them all grown on In the Soop. FYIs as I watch: They call any producer "PD" - so, music producer, video producer, Run BTS producer, etc, will all be referred to as "PD" in the captions. In this case, Bon Voyage is done by the same crew who film and produce Run BTS for them. The only times I can think of when they were like "get the camera out of my face" was once on Run BTS (in a Behind) and once on American Hustle Life (also in a Behind - which I'm not sure you can find legally anymore). For the Run BTS one, they just came into a room too early and the members were all sleeping except for Jin, who promptly pointed the cameramen back out the door, and they left. In AHL, Suga lost his temper and once again Jin told the camera to stop filming while Jin took him aside to calm him down (they were under a LOT of stress in AHL and Suga had good reason to be angry). The members have often said that (especially in the early years) Jin was often the advocate for them in talking with the company, as the oldest and also someone willing to stand his ground when needed. Coming-of-age day is when they become a legal adult - it's not celebrated on their birthday. They filmed this in May 2016 and JK's birthday isn't until September. So, it's celebrated on a different specified day during the year that they're 20 (Korean age). JK is actually 18 (international age) during this trip.

Happy Birthday! I'm excited to watch this with you! Yes it's a bit more chaotic as they've never traveled like this & get to do certain things on their own. Yep at 25:45 that's Converse High from The Most Beautiful Moment in Life pt. 1 album, RM wrote a whole song about liking girls that wear red converse high shoes it's a vibe and I really find Suga's verse funny 😆 you will see what I mean when you get to react to it. They performed it live only a few times that I know of or at least official recordings, one for M Countdown were they had to change the Lyrics to "Lovers High" because of the converse high brand name, also BTS Live Trilogy Episode 1: "BTS Begins" concert tour 2015 https://bts.fandom.com/wiki/BTS_Live_Trilogy_Episode_I:_BTS_Begins and 2015 BTS Live " The Most Beautiful Moment in Life On Stage" (also known as HYYH) where it was just RM, Jhope, and Jin who performed (they split up and did unit song versions) https://www.setlist.fm/stats/average-setlist/bts-3bdd50e4.html?tour=1bd2856c. I'll be honest their early concert tour official names get a little confusing to me lol Their first concert tour ever was the Red Bullet Tour but it's considered "Episode II" of the BTS Live Trilogy even though it was first in 2014 🤷‍♀️ (There is also a "2016 BTS Live "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life on Stage: Epilogue" https://www.setlist.fm/stats/average-setlist/bts-3bdd50e4.html?tour=1bd28560 so gets a little hard to navigate lol) Also at 28:46 is "Can You turn off your phone?" from Dark & Wild album. I don't ever remember seeing this performed live before but it's hard to know because they like to change up concert setlists on different days/locations but I don't remember seeing official recordings. I've been army since 2018 and I'm always learning something new or finding a performance I didn't know about before because they just have so much. I do kinda envy debut and veteran army in that regard because they experienced all these things in real time along with bangtan so they know a lot of info, performance etc I've never heard about.

Happy Birthdayyyy have a wonderfull rest of the dayyy

I'm from Finland. We have a central heating system so we never run out of warm water. I believe Sweden and Norway are the same way. I used to be confused when people said that they will run out of warm water 😅

Genius Yoongi

Happy Birthday, I hope you have a wonderful day and all your wishes come true you deserve it!!

Jungkook celebrated his Coming of Age Day (20 in Korean age), normally the third Monday in May, which denotes certain adult responsibilities that he could assume, including getting his drivers license. [We all know JK's actual birthday is in September.] It's a big deal in Korea, the idol groups that I follow usually do something, at least a cake. So that can give you a timeframe of when BTS took this trip.

Happy birthday 🎈

I'll wish you in French: Joyeux Anniversaire Austin 🌸

Happy Birthday Austin!! Jungkook is 18 (international age) during this trip. Filmed march 2016. BV1 is wild. I love each season. There are pros and co,s for the setups but each is special. Favorite season varies very muche for each person. Here they are all so baby.

Sarah Taylor

Happy Birthday Austin!! Have a fabulous day. xx

Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great day :)

Happy Birthday! I'm so excited for you to watch Bon Voyage from the very beginning to really see their come up. I also always find it funny that Jimin said he didn't think JK would be a good travel companion considering they were the first pair to take a trip together and by all accounts had a great time. JK's first GCF was actually about their trip (to Tokyo). I really do hope Jimin and Tae and Hobi and Joon get to take trips of their own some day, that would be sweet.

Mel

Happy Birthday! I'm glad you enjoyed what you heard of Converse High because you're going to hear it a LOT in Bon Voyage 😂 Seriously, I never realized how much they love to put that song in BV until I started showing it to my spouse and it came on in almost every episode (sometimes multiple times) of the first two seasons! In S3 they play Seesaw a lot instead I love Bon Voyage, but ITS is more my speed. BV stressed me out at times, especially in this season when they were inexperienced with traveling and made a lot of mistakes. I guess that's why S4 is my favorite - it's much more chill and by then they're a lot more seasoned.

Joy

Happy birthday again austin🥳

I'm a little late but happy birthday anyway and thank you for starting Bon voyage !

Mary Leona Weaver

Agreed, Austin....there is simply something wholesome and comforting about watching these 7 people together. And it also makes me feel like it's a safe place. You will see as the series progresses, how they begin to be so proud that they can do the littlest things on their own - things we take for granted that people know how to do. But they've always had someone to do these things for them. It's really lovely to see them gain life experience and have a little taste of "the ordinary life"...Of course, as the show goes on, they get more and more famous and more and more rich, but it doesn't matter one bit to them. I'm late, but Happy Bday!

nicole

Happy Late Birthday 🎉🎉🎉

Happy belated birthday Austin!!! May u have many, many, many more funfilled ones! 💜💜💜

Armystic

Happy belated birthday… it was mine yesterday!! And yes it was jungkooks 18 th birthday but 20 in Korean age lol that’s why they were buying him a flower bc you give someone a flower, perfume and a kiss for that birthday lmao so that’s what they were talking about buying … also if you haven’t seen jungkook and jimin doing “coming of age ceremony” is I’m not sure if you have heard of it but there’s a song that some idols perform to this song that talks about being ready to become a woman basically lol but the choreo is kinda sexy and mature… and some idols do a dance cover to the original song which is actually such a bop but I can’t remember the name… but anyway it’s sexy girl group choreo and usually female or male idols who do it will add some of their choreo in for it and the guys usually change it a lot but I think it’s mostly females who do it… WELL jimin and jungkook did it for jks 20th birthday and there’s a bangtan bomb of the behind the scenes of them kinda learning some of the original choreo and kinda piecing it together to do as a surprise for a special concert I can’t remember if it was a muster or some other special concert type thing… but they actually do a lot of the original kinda female sensual type dance moves and then added their own little section for the other half … and there’s a bangtan bomb of the behind the scenes of them learning and practicing and all the other members are on their learning other dances around them being chaotic and then they kinda do a little half dress rehearsal and the other members watch and giggle it’s super fun and fits perfectly with this!!! You would LOVE to see the behind the scenes and the performance… they’re not too long… but seeing these two doing some sensual more typical female choreo is amazing and supposed to be silly kinda but it’s sexier then it should be lmao Also I love that suga and jk moment with picking the rooms… how adorable are they?!?!

Armystic
>>95777624

And bc jungkook is def more assertive than jimin and is usually the one who has to do all the talking when they’re doing things together and stuff lol it’s why rm sent jimin alone to get his bag.. so he’s be more comfy :) jimin said he wanted to go to Japan with tae… which is where he and jk went lol so that’s fun too. I hoped Jin and jk would go somewhere together… they get along so well

Armystic
>>95767910

They actually give a flower, a perfume and a kiss as a present as well… I’m surprised nobody told Austin about the iconic jungkook and jimin dance cover “coming of age ceremony!!!”

Armystic
>>95756207

Jin got mad and pointed the camera man out of the room in the run BTS bc jungkook was sleeping next to him without a shirt on lol the way Jin kept looking to make sure jk didn’t wake up was so cute…. And suga was actually getting upset… not angry on ahl… and I loved that Jin politely asked them to give them a minute and he comforted suga … that guy they were with infuriated me… but yeah jinnie always has their backs

Armystic

I can’t believe I’m the ONLY one out of all these comments that told you about the jungkook and jimin dance cover of the “coming of age ceremony” performance where they did the kinda sensual girl group choreo to that song that other idols have done for their coming of age as well. The bangtan bomb of them learning it is iconic… and the performance is a bit spicy lol Austin would LOVE it!!!

crispy lil worm

Happy (belated) birthday! Wow I haven't seen Bon Voyage S1 in years, and I agree there's just something so comforting and heartwarming about BTS content like this no matter what era is was filmed in. And OMG watching them put on Coldplay in 2016 knowing that in 2022 they are close collegues and nomited for Grammys together literally gave me goosebumps

Priske

Maybe someone already said it but he probably said 'hallo'. That's hello in dutch. :p

Lane. L.

Agree on what you said. Watching BTS content is my way of destressing. No matter, if I have watched it several times already. I still get the same comfort. Love them! 💜💜💜💜💜

kookmineve

Its interesting because Jimin and Jungkook are the actually the two who travel alone together the most often, most significantly their Tokyo trip which was just the two of them with no managers, GCF Tokyo is about that trip and its honestly the most beautiful video on the internet, I would love to see you react to it

Sunset

You said your state! I call it Central America. I have family from Nebraska. I’ve never been near either. My parents moved from Nebraska to Los Angeles before I was born, so when someone says corn, I think bowl of yellow kernels.I don’t know if region is the reason but I see a similarity between you and my Nebraskan parent’s manner of speaking in a careful thus and so way. That probably makes no sense, but there it is.
