Mr Clean

Really cool episode, my favorite one was WJSN (and also one of my favorites out of the entire show), then i cant decide between kepler and viviz

jenn_sone

Chaeyhun's vocals! I knew you'll love her voclas because she used to be a trainee in SM. She actually trained with the Aespa girls and is very close to them still to this day. Also, a lot of people were really looking forward to Bona appearing in Queendom. Her drama 'Twenty-five twenty-one" aired around the time the other WJSN members were doing Queendom. And the drama was really really popular at that time. 😉

I forgot until they mentioned it in this episode, but Tiffany was a judge/mentor on the show that created Kep1er, Girls Planet 999. If you do watch it maybe your Sone heart can get you through the long episodes and mnet wild edits. About Kep1er’s performance: I think they fell in a trap that was basically the opposite of Lovelyz mistake last season. Lovelyz covered Brown Eyed Girl “Sixth Sense” which is ICONIC and also every specific to them. I can’t imagine many groups covering that song and “making it their own.” Lovelyz stuck to the song’s original sound and concept so much that it basically just showed how much they aren’t Brown Eyed Girls. I think Kep1er tried to change the sound and concept too much and lost a lot of what people like in the original song/performance. If I hear a cover of “The Boys” want Yuri’s breakdown, I want harmonies, I was the “my heeeeaaarrrt” section on the bridge to brilliantly blend into an electric guitar solo. Kep1er’s performance was fine, but they are such a new group that they don’t have much of an identity. They’re basically just branded as “cute” or “refreshing” which is okay. But it doesn’t give them much room to do anything other than something Kidz Bop adjacent. Viviz didn’t mean it was the first time they preformed “Bop Bop.” But their first time preforming in front of fans. Their promotion and debut were during Covid restrictions, so there were no live audiences on music shows. Then, during Queendom, they preformed different songs and covers so far. It was the first time actually hearing a fan chant for their debut track. You mentioned wanting Viviz to cover Girls Generation’s “Into the New World”. They Have! Interestingly enough, there was a lot of buzz, good and bad, when Gfriend debuted because the debut reminded so many people of “Into the New World.” It even had a big kick in the choreo. Actually there are a couple different SNSD covers from Queendom 2 participants you might want to checkout ,either for a video or on your own time. -Wjsn covered Genie (https://youtube.com/watch?v=V_8r5qSAKyU) -Yuna from Brave Girls did a cover of “Way to Go” with other groups’ members (https://youtube.com/watch?v=ky2AAWOIvVs) -SinB Eunha and Umji from Viviz/Gfriend did a cover of “Gee” with Twice(https://youtube.com/watch?v=3kva3820DDw) -They also did a cover of “Into the New World” (https://youtube.com/watch?v=OqBDGktrAKQ) -Yeonjung (the vocalist you like) from Wjsn and Gfriend did an “Into the New World” Cover with other groups (https://youtu.be/-P3rZOmau-g?t=151) bonus Seventeen jumpscare of them cheering before the performance -Yeonjung from Wjsn was also on a competition where she and her group (of trainees, not WJSN members) covered “Into the New World” and I saved her for last because she did any AMAZING job, especially with the adlibs. The rival team covered the same song and had more popular members but this performance was like 10 million more views because people come back to watch Yeonjung’s vocals bring the house down (https://youtube.com/watch?v=OxPPdI9AqX4)

WJSN's pantomime was definitely my fav from this episode as well. They really pulled out all the stops. The other 2 performances were also well done i think kep1er picked a good song in The Boys as i think it is quite similar to the type of energy that fits their dynamic the best. Viviz did a good job as well the mixing was definately shot which is unfortunate but i think they did a good job of changing the vibe of the song to fit the concept they were going with. All in all this episode was pretty good cant wait for the next.
