I think that thing on Suga's back was a tape. His whole shoulder was taped, because he was still dealing with the aftermath of his injury. Or it could be scar. although I haven't seen anything similar around his shoulder/armpit area in any other behind the scene content, so I doubt it.

This was before his shoulder surgery, that happened in 2020. The tapes on his shoulder should be because it was hurting, probably really badly considering he told us he got shots at every tour date and then finally did the surgery next year :)

Suga’s red spot was from cupping therapy. I remember the members once talked about the red spots but I forgot which video.

Yes, they let people know ahead of time if a member is injured. Basically as soon as the decision is made that they have to sit for the performances, etc, they'll inform the fans. They don't usually warn for voice issues though, and the members just try to power through, or rearrange their parts so that they're singing less, or they'll mention it themselves on stage with apologies. I think the only time they didn't have time to put out a notice was for one concert in 2015 and Namjoon had to go on stage and explain, and the members who were well enough sang truncated versions of 3 songs, and then gave their repeated apologies, and were just as upset as the audience for sure. That was indeed a cupping mark on Suga's back, likely trying to treat inflammation in his shoulder. When a member is out entirely, they usually just let their part play in the backing track and no one covers it, or they'll put the mics to the audience for the audience to sing that part. But there have been a few times where JK has covered for the rapline when they've been out, and one time that was mentioned in this episode - where they went on the Graham Norton show without Jimin, due to his severe neck/back cramp, so the other vocalists had to take over Jimin's parts.

I know. I was thinking he could potentially have some scarring after the injury, but my initial thought was that, the "thing" was just the tape that was extending from his shoulder to his back.

yoongi had the cupping therapy bruise but also had medical tape and ice on his shoulder in this episode, he also mentioned that he used to get injections for concerts to try to help his shoulder I believe. it's always crazy to be reminded that he didn't get surgery on it till the end of 2020 and just always dealt w the pain

Thank you Austin for planning some Suga/Agust D events. I don't have DISNEY Channel so this will be a gift. Did you see Suga issue of Marie-Claire Korea May 23. MY husband is Divine 🪄💖

PLEASE watch the LY Europe DVD making, it always gets forgotten about by reactors but theres ALOT of more footage in there regarding Jungkooks ankle injury (as well as the Europe concerts as a whole and lots of great moments), you also get to see that Jimin is the one who tells the manager where to take him, sits with him whilst he gets the stitches, and also in the only person with him when he gets the stitches removed too. The London concert was actually when all their parents were there (Jimin and Jungkook had gone out for a meal together with their parents the night before) and Jungkook ended up crying on stage during Anpanman and theres a really sweet moment of Jimin running to him, and then telling the audience to shout I love You Jungkook

kookmineve

The concert was delayed about 30 minutes and they sent our a Big Hit Twitter notice saying that Jungkook would be seated, If I remember right he stayed seated pretty much throughout the whole of the Europe Dates

15:16 lol yeh jungkook just said the same thing … but rms wink distracted you from Jungkooks words 😂 happens to All of us.. but what jk said was that they seem sincere in their music and work … bc it’s who they are… but they understand that army says that their music has helped them so much… and that’s a thought process but it always has been. He mentioned that right when they release an album online… it goes out to the world and it gets translated within such a short period of time…. Bc their message is important to people… and they know that… and take that seriously…. But it made me think about your intro and you talking about wanting to wait for the good lyrics for yoongis album bc of the wordplay and all that which I totally agree… that’s something I love about well BTS music in general but way more in the raps in the rap lines solo stuff … the using words in Korean as a double entendre for something in English bc of how it sounds and stuff like that… it’s something that always stands out to me. The rapline particularly and the clever wordplay and detailed pictures they paint with their words has always baffled me. Yoongis my main bias wrecker and it’s his passion in his music and emotional delivery that just swooped me up .. ya know cheeky, thoughtful, happy, cynical, clap back , sad, angry….he brings emotions out in his rap in such a special way.. and I can’t wait to hear him sing more too!!! So excited for this album but yeh I thought it was funny JK brought up about their albums and ppl translating them and that you were just talking about it 😂 meant to be!!!! Can’t wait for D Day!!!

And jk had to sit out on stage while the others danced to idol… I felt so bad for all of them… it looked uncomfortable… until they sat to talk… but they don’t feel right when they’re missing each other. Solo is one thing.. bc they do solo stages alone…. But 5 of them or even 6 you can feel the empty’s space. I remember watching a fancam of idol and didn’t know Jk was out until it started with this giant whole in the middle of the choreo to start lol doesn’t help when he’s the center of BTS as well.. but I felt the same way with that giant yoongi shaped hole for all those months .. I miss seeing them on stage together

Lol girl you and your jikook info always cracks me up … you’re a very dedicated jikook lover … I always see your comments. It’s cute

kookmineve
>>106180682

Im always here to bring the Jikook information, especially since a lot of people like to discredit their closeness, which is so upsetting, and also since so much of the Jikook that happens tends to happen in the most obscure bits of footage which sometimes never gets reacted to

19:50 all Jin knew was jungkook was hurt and he like turned and went there right away… jimin ran there bc he knew he was going to be upset… jk of course laying there apologizing over and over and tearing up. Earlier before he was packing his bag before they left for Europe and he was the one telling us that they’d always wanted to go to Europe for the fans and they couldn’t but now they finally could do he was so happy and knew army was too… so this was something that really stuck with him. Even the following year during concerts at wembley.. and possibly other ones… he said he felt sorry… bc of last year and that he still felt guilty about being hurt and not being able to perform for them… he’s such a sincere kid.. ya know.. his love for army is so pure .. it’s quite an interesting thing he has with army. They all love army.. but I duno something about the way he talks with and about army just is different.. I don’t know if it was bc he was so young when he started feeling this strong love from fans and having gratitude for fans that it just stuck w him differently. I duno he just said he’s more comfortable on a livestream with army than he is with acquaintances.. which makes me worry for him. I hope he’s experiencing more now and getting out there.. being a troublemaker here and there lol not too much trouble… but just being a young man … for all of them… just want them to be happy.. fulfilled as humans… not just artists.

Hi Austin, you asked if there is a video about BTS success. I personally enjoyed watching the video Essays from Elliott. I don't know if you had something like this in mind but here is a link if you are interested: BTS: More than K- Pop https://youtu.be/C7diyL8ALiM And one if my favorites with Dr. Jiyoung Lee on K-DOC. (Where Elliot analysis from a music Journalist point of view, Dr. Jiyong Lee on the other hand from a sociocultural perspective, she wrote a book about it "BTS, Art Revolution) https://youtu.be/Uaj1X76h2mQ Both helped me to understand some aspects of BTS journey to success. try to watch PIXED in Youtube where Jimin played an impostor provincial fan...it's a lot of fun...there are army/kpop fans sharing their experiences and motivations for fan lifestyle

He seems so much happier & in less pain after the surgery. I often wonder if that's the reason for his new interest in studying dance more because he's not in pain anymore. He's always been a good dancer he just focused more on the music side before. I'm a little nervous but excited to see what he has in store for us with his new album.

roguechevelle

Loved this docu series. They do push themselves very hard but you start to see on this tour and after they really take their choreographer Son Sung Deuk words to heart about if they push themselves too hard because someone else is injured to make up for it that it causes others to get sick or injured and that it's okay if they aren't operating at maximum because the fans are just happy to see them and they are there. I actually really like how they handle things having the person sit in a chair but the other members will interact with them, they were even dancing around JK trying to make him feel better and included. Even though you could tell he felt bad about the situation he was still able to let go a little and have a good experience when previous tours he would have been very upset. But he's aware that him getting upset only upsets the members and the fans who just want to see them on stage.

Cute Bunn

There is a plethera of reasons why we like BTS.

38:36 love the subtle shade comments 🤣🤣

Yes! On monday I felt like crying about the unfairness of it all but it says more about them that they're scared enough to delete/discount 90% of his sales!

Kellzie

I don’t need them to be perfect. What I love about BTS is that they are basically the same people who debuted. Humble, loving and caring, beyond talented, and everything positive and upbuilding. Despite both unprecedented success and all the hatred that has been thrown their way over the years and still today, they have not allowed either to change them. They could have become self-centered and arrogant or become hardened and lowered themselves to the level of the haters. Instead, they shine as beacons of light, hope and encouragement ever brighter year after year. When I see how hard they work and the toll it takes on them, I just want to give them all hugs and tell them we don’t need them to be perfect or give 100% all the time. It’s okay if your arm extension isn’t at maximum length or if you don’t make every movement sharp. We are just happy you are here. 💜

Skye Miques

Seriously? Where is Jimin's cake? You cracked me up. lol. On another note, I think that Jimin's cramps are actually severe muscle spasms that get lost in translation. Just my personal opinion. Either way, he suffers so much pain when they hit.

Farhana

Loving watching this with you Austin! I hope you watch the movie as well! It has different footage and it is worth it. Also just to let you know if you want to go that extra step and mile, on weverse we have boys reacting and doing commentary of the movie too so it will be reactception. I would happily watch you react to the boys reacting to their bring the soul movie lol

Hearing you talk about not feeling a 100%, but feeling guilty over not being protective, hit me. A thought process I am trying to make a natural thought is, "if I'm feeling 40% and I'm working at that level, then at that time, I am giving my 100%". That is helping me not get hard on myself. I think you are doing great, and I enjoy whenever you post videos. So thank you :)
