Yay! So happy you are reacting to Road to Kingdom! When I first watched it, I only knew a couple of them, but then fell in love with ONF and Oneus!

mel

ROAD TO KINGDOM was for less know group yeahs, it was for them to get more spotlight. Actually after the show, a lot of them were able to finally get their first win on Music Show like PENTAGON, ONF, ONEUS, VERIVERY When you heard about VERIVERY's agency (Jellyfish), it might have ring a bell because Dayeon from KEP1ER is from Jellyfish. VERIVERY is know also for being one of the best group with synchronization dancing. The Justin Bieber hair guy is the leader, you will see more about him in some episode. For ONEUS, you just confused Seoho and RAVN normally For ONF, their team name is spelled "ON and OFF". You had a hard time saying E-TION stage name so if it's help : "Tion" is taken from "Sensation". For J-US, you can call him Seungjun, a lot of fans don't really use his stage name and seem like since he ended his military service, he doesn't seem to use J-US neither at least on the Twitter post. (by the way he is a big Shawol, he love Taemin so much) For the ON TEAM and OFF TEAM, don't bother too much with it, ONF have two leaders and that's it (Seungjun and Hyojin will be easy to recognize in RTK because Hyojin keep his red hair and Seungjun his blond hair. Adding just a little fact, both of them played in a musical with Changyeol during their military service). ON TEAM and OFF TEAM are mostly used when they do covers (ON TEAM is vocal centered and OFF performance centered). ON and OFF TEAM have bsides but they don't make comeback under those teams, they always have comeback with the whole group. Also they have the name ON & OFF because they have ON CONCEPT = Bright, Fun and OFF = darker. However they are well know for summer bop and brights songs (Beautiful Beautiful, Complete, Popping, Sukhumvit Swimming) The Black hair with cross that you pointed out, it's Wyatt. He is very highlighted on ROAD TO KINGDOM, a lot of people ended up loving him. He is the one with the deep voice too but he is an actual sweetheart (that's also why fans call him Princess) MK is in fact really really close to MONSTA X, he actually took the stage name "MK" because that's how Joohoney called him back in the day. He is MONSTA X baby especially for Joohoney. You might see later also but his voice is really unique, people joke about him being naturally autotuned. Both him and Wyatt participate in writing/producing for ONF. During the phone chat, they were in the same room where OH MY GIRLS was because both groups are labelmates. Both ONF and OH MY GIRLS are from WM ENT. You talked about not knowing the agency, WM ENT have groups who are actually more know in Korea than internationally so that's why. Just to say, ROAD TO KINGDOM was actually ONF last chance but fortunately they did well. The song played who had saxophone is their song COMPLETE About the acapella, ONF is a group with a lot of gut, actually they have an acapella part in their song Beautiful Beautiful but also sometime they cover songs who aren't easy like BTOB - Beautiful Pain, Black Swan or Eight (UI, she even shared the cover) For TO1, I think the members that you saw on "ex-members" were the one in RTK,. WAKEONE made TOO change their name to TO1 after RTK, I don't know for every ex-members but people think both Sungmin and Woonggi were actually kicked out and didn't just "left" like the testament of the agency said. The whole announcement was a fucking joke, they even used the excuse of "wanted a new image, changing the concept of the group, didn't fit" and added the Japanese members I think. The fans found it really suspicious. Also the member you pointed out for his hair I think, it's Woonggi, one of the ex-member I just want to say that he is know for showing support to his LGBT fans and the LGBT community in general Honestly for the ranking, it's funny when you see most of the groups who incorporated some singings like ONF, ONEUS and TOO ended up last. They were also in my favorite like you. For ONF, I feel like you need to be a fan but they did such a great introduction that's why it's one of my favorite, it's not just random, it's really introducing them. First they took WE MUST LOVE (one of their most popular song among non-fans/general public) and after LIGHT ON (they introduce themselve with the sentence LIGHT ON to others but it's also a song from their debut, this song use some of their others songs in the lyrics like "If We Dream", "Original,"Difficult", they have a 2021 version and they added more of it)

Also about the vocal aspect, I want just to warn you because it's one of the biggest criticism that RTK received (I think that's why MNET changed it for Kingdom). MNET went for a more performance-based show with ROAD TO KINGDOM because they were no audience and I don't know what went through their minds. So if I remember correctly, there are normally a lot of lipsync from what people said, one group I know did some live vocal are PENTAGON and at some point I think ONF did it too if i'm not wrong. Also, I may be wrong but I think some sing but the backtrack is so loud you don't heard anything? I'm not professionnal and it's been a while since I saw ROAD TO KINGDOM so you will see by yourself

From my point of view, I find this show more entertaining than Kingdom, there is a little more interaction between the groups and the desperation to enter Kingdon is noticeable by what they bring out their best aspect (dance, vocal) on the other hand I think the Most of the groups did not treat oneus well throughout the program because they never voted for them. my top3 in this intro round are The Boyz,Verivery and Oneus in that order.

Kame

I will be honest, after Kingdom LW I had high expectations , but the Intro round wasn`t as good as I expected. The performances were all good, but in Legendary War I was flashed from the very first performance. Oneus and Golden Child were the only ones who showed who they are. I have read in a comment ONF showed it too, I can`t say anything about them, they are new to me. Pentagon`s intro was great and I liked TOO`s intro too. I can´t really rank these performances, they were nearly equal. Verivery`s Entertainment Group Jellyfish doesn`t have much groups, they have more Actors , but maybe you heard of them because of VIXX and Ravi, they are under Jellyfish. Ravi was in VIXX but left the group. I am looking forward to the first round, the teaser showed interesting content.

I think you're going to love ONF. When I watched this show I only knew Pentagon and Oneus. Fell in love with all the groups. ONF's Wyatt is so hilarious and a dork. This is probably the 10th time I've watched this and I'm a little heartbroken. I loved TOO. They're adorable and talented and just were really fun to watch on this show then I learned how some members "left" and they brought in new ones. The ones that left to me were core members that always stuck out to me. I hate to say it kind of turned me away from diving into TO1 more now. As for my main team (I love them all), I rooted hard for Pentagon. You'll get to know more about their journey and why they're doing this and it's kind of heartbreaking. BUT after Road to Kingdom things started getting better for them and they've done so well.

Been watching “boys planet” Lee hoe taek (hui) is a contestant on boys planet!!!!! Apparently he joined boys planet AFTER he served on the military and road to kingdom was before he served . The caliber of the talent on that show is insane.. some of the best I’ve seen w so many all rounders. The group formed from boys planet is very close to debuting! You should maybe check it out and then could be with a group predebut and at debut…. Seeing how the group was made from beginning to end just def makes you have a certain attachment to them .. just something interesting… also it’s super gay friendly first BL (boy love) actor being promoted by literally everyone lol he reminds me visually of a combination of v from BTS and yeonjun from txt …. The super flamboyant boys on the show are so extra and cute… they said “first boy group full of queens” 😂 so fun but the talent caliber is insane

I didn’t know “solo” got hate other than the fact that Jennie Kim gets hate simply for breathing. Poor thing works so hard and has bc to deal with the hate train practically from debut for things completely out of her control. Then of course the constant edited footage of eight seconds of full concerts to shade and hate on her more… than that stuff with tae certainly hasn’t helped. Solo is a bop and honestly it’s till extremely successful… one of black pinks highest charting songs and it’s been out for over 4 years lol that’s not too bad! Every person I’ve ever heard or seen them introduced to it has loved it. I love the solo remix with that r so she wrote for herself .. which had so many fire bars… especially English ones that actually made sense lol I normally hate remixes but that remix is so fire.. extra little dance break section so it’s longer.. her performance at their concert “the show” of that is epic her fit, the music, the stage… gorgeous!!!! I also love ddu du ddu du remix… especially live… rare for me to enjoy a remix. Have you seen her song from this tour? “You and me?” She dances with a partner and you just see their silhouettes for part of the choreo… her outfits have been legendary and the ending part evolved and then she did the remix at Coachella which was also a remix I loved and even though the origins “you and me” is already SO good .. that remix and extra dance break at the end is just too too good. They seem to have the formula for remixes bc the how you like that version for the born pink tour is also amazing, pretty savage from Coachella version is so cool…. They just know how to make amazing dance beats.. but if hip hop… but of trap…. Just always so good. Wow random tangent has nothing to do with the video. My bad.

i'm going to be typing as i watch so i don't forget stuff so this might get disjointed. i went into rtk with the boyz being the only group i didn't know anything about. i was a fan of, or at least heard songs from, all the other groups. golden child was the group i knew the next least about but i'd at least heard a few of their songs beforehand. i would love to see you check out hyunjun's solo stuff, i looked into him after rtk got me into the boyz and i've enjoyed what he's put out so far. i try to keep tabs on the boyz comebacks but they're one of the groups i follow more casually. i loved "maverick", i wasn't a big fan of "she's the boss" but the b-sides for that album were pretty good, and i was absolutely hooked on "whisper" and all of the b-sides for that album. i love verivery, i got to see them in concert in september and it was amazing. i hope that you do get the chance to do a reaction to some of their songs at some point. they have a storyline that carries either loosely or directly through all of their mvs so there are some points that can be confusing for people that are new to them, like the ending of "trigger" leads directly into the beginning of "undercover" for example. ravn's released a few songs on soundcloud and from his cryptic emote usage on instagram he might be working on more songs so he seems to be doing okay. also, you mixed up ravn and seoho a few times but with the video quality at times that's understandable. they usually show who's speaking in hangul so you can check for 레이븐 for ravn and 서호 for seoho. i very much agree with you on the health issues thing and in my experience jellyfish is probably the best i've seen with that. minchan from verivery has taken breaks for his mental health multiple times and been given all the time he needs to recover. he's currently on a break right now, which he started near the tail end of their tour before their latest comeback. i'm glad that he's given the time he needs and they work around his absence where they need to. they even added him missing into the story for their "get away" comeback since he'd been on break since part-way through their previous comeback. onf recently just had all korean members return from enlistment. they all enlisted within days of each other so that they could come back together as a full group quickly. u worked hard to interact with fans and keep things going while everyone else was away. the change from too to to1 happened in 2021. to1 had a very rough start to 2022. woonggi went on hiatus for his mental health, then chihoon left the group for personal reasons (he still makes music that he releases on soundcloud occasionally), soon after that wakeone, in the least tactful way possible, announced that woonggi, jerome, and minsu were all leaving the group and daigo, renta, and yeojeong would be joining the group at the same time. the reason for woonggi, jerome, and minsu leaving is still unclear because while "a change in concept" was the reason wakeone gave for their departure to1's concept hasn't really changed at all. the three new members have received a lot of backlash for "replacing" the members that left which i don't think is really fair to them but they've meshed really well with the rest group and the other members seem to try to protect them from seeing any messages that might hurt them. daigo and renta brought a lot of japanese fans to the group since they were both pretty popular as trainees. jerome now goes by his birth name of sungmin and woonggi recently left wakeone. sadly you won't see yanan in rtk, he had been on hiatus for a while and was feeling better and wanted to come back but cube, being cube, wouldn't let him return to group activities until after rtk was over. i do wish that more of the groups had shown off their vocals during this intro round. for the majority of the performances being dance-only mnet did not do a good job of showcasing the dancing at all so i'm glad that it was just the groups voting amongst themselves. golden child's performance was really good and but mnet mostly just showed the other groups' reactions to the performance rather than the performance itself. sorry for the wall of text but wanted to give some context and info along with my thoughts on this episode

Vixx all left Jellyfish though, starting with Ravi when their first contract ended.

Yes, that's why they concentrate on Verivery, because they don't have any active group except of them.

I'm just happy to see WoongGi
