The FINALE!  Congrats to the winner!

(not saying their name in case you haven't seen it yet).

I like this but will probably take a break before reacting to my next competition show.  It's a lot to keep up with long episodes.  But there definitely are some other shows I want to watch soon.

Also my energy is a little weird & all over the place.  I recorded this after working all day and was kind of tired.  LOL.  Just me rambling more often than normal.  Fast forward if it annoys you.  :D

Don't feel intimidated by ONF! I think the one line descriptions about the group can be a little misleading. Yes they have 2 sub-units ON being more vocal and OFF being more performance based. You will get b-sides that are of those subunits like you get with SVT but the title tracks are the whole group. So instead of having one leader the two subunit leaders work together. But yes they do have a story line that this finale song fit in with. I would say theirs is a little bit less intense? than some other groups where people go so hard for the storyline and its a little more oh cool that connects. They definitely grew in popularity after the show but maybe why you haven't heard of them much is in end of 2021 5 members enlisted together, being the first "full group" to enlist together (excluding Japanese member U) and then they just were discharged so expect to hear of them soon! Their pre-recorded album they released while enlisted was their highest selling and their songs have become far more popular on Korean TV (including shows like Boys Planet). For RTK it was groups with like 0-1 wins, who yeah weren't the bigger groups, and Pentagon fit with the 0 wins at the time. While performance wise I would have biasedly said they should have been saved for Kingdom but this was a good step for them and we wouldn't have gotten their sunbaes BTOB on Kingdom. Also not Hui getting them to perform BTOB's song at the end for the vocal performance lol.

If you liked ONF's song New world, I totally recommend checking out their other songs, they have a really cool discography. There is also a performance video for New world that is also pretty awesome!

Like the first comment said, don't be intimidated by ONF especially with the ON/OFF sub-units, their title tracks are always full groups and the two leaders just work together. ON teams and OFF teams are just for covers sometimes or bsides but they don't even actually have much bsides. ON team have Thermometer and OFF Team have SECRET TRIANGLE but that's it for now Even their storyline isn't as intense as others groups, you often see the same theme coming back which really help (dystopia, end of the world, time travel, parallel world, robots, pandora box) and you just connect but that's it you don't have to try too much to understand. ONF have a bigger koreans fanbase than internationals that's why you might not have heard about them that much. They mostly gained their internationals fans thank to ROAD TO KINGDOM actually and some during their military service because some of their videos got viral like J-US / E-TION dancing to HYPE BOYS or the group performing BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL at a military festival (but went more viral on the koreans sides). Also their internationals fans tend to not be as loud as others, I feel like they like to stay on their sides together If you are afraid about the MV I will just describe some because it might help : - WE MUST LOVE You heard it often on the show, non-fans are more accostumed to this song - WHY / BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL There are fans favorites I would say. WHY is more cinematographic / darker. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL is one of the most liked even with non fans, a bright one, covered on some survivals show like PEAK TIME (where Tiffany was) and BOYS PLANET. ONF also won first place for the first time on music show with this song - COMPLETE / POPPING / SUKHUMVIT SWIMMING There are bright songs, fit for summer, some of my favorites actually, I love ONF bright concept more, a lot of people like when ONF do brights concept. COMPLETE was the one mixed with It's Raining, you liked the Saxophone. POPPING my summer bop. SUKHUMVIT SWIMMING is my favorite title track, they released it after ROAD TO KINGOM - UGLY DANCE It's more of a performance MV - GOOSEBUMP A bit more experimental, also more darker concept - YOUR SONG You will see, it's the most viewed but the MV is more simple because they didn't have much time for this one because they were preparing concerts + the other title track GOOSEBUMP at the same. It's what they released during military service, it's a song for the fans but I really love the song, I would also say it's bright. - ON / OFF Their debut but I don't think it's the most liked but still a cute/okay song - MY NAME IS You might see this one pass by maybe, low views it's mostly just a cute song to introduce the member not a big title track The channel ReactToTheK also liked NEW WORLD, I think it's one of their favorite, they talked about ONF performance on ROAD TO KINGDOM with the composer/producer. He mentionned how ONF go throught differents era with their stages kind off, so if you go back the first performance with EVERYBODY it was like medieval and the final is NEW WORLD, it's more cyberpunk so ONF storyline is incorporated. You talked about the cube? It's the pandora box, you might see it in some MVs later but it can also symbolise memories. I like how ONF show themselves + their storyline on ROAD TO KINGDOM but also change/try differents genres. ONF discography is very versatile, their lives are also very good it's always so much fun I just want to point out that they have keys in the performance, those keys actually spelled out "RTK ONF" Funny thing, the ONF member you found cute was the same as last time it's J-US / Seungjun I will always be glad VERIVERY did a bright song/performance because a lot of groups tend to avoid doing it for a final especially boysgroups. They actually dedicated this performance for their fans and I find it so sweet. My favorites were ONF, PENTAGON and ONEUS. I think THE BOYZ song was my least favorite, It didn't catch me but I liked their final song for KINGDOM a lot Wooseok PENTAGON's maknae going to ONF will never not be funny, it's even more funny when you see the size difference between him and the group especially when he is next to Yuto (ONF maknae). ONF are so small. Not too long ago the fans laughed again because PENTAGON and ONF had a event together and this time, ONF maknae went with PENTAGON. The fans ended up remembering this moment during ROAD TO KINGDOM

Also you mentionned the eliminated group, I don't know for TOO but after ROAD TO KINGDOM, Golden Child prepared a comeback so even if they were invited they might have not make it because of that

Sarcastic_Sara

Oh no...not me over here trying to remember the color of my game boy color (because of the album you saw in the ONF scene). I think it was the light purple or white one you could see through. And I had that stupid little plug in light for it so I could see the screen and play at night in bed lol

RevanTheRebel

I am so grateful to this show for exposing me to all of these groups, but especially ONF and Pentagon. ONF in particular is in my top 5 favorite groups of all time, they have really great music. I have no doubt it's the kind of stuff you would vibe with, especially since you're a fan of TBZ's brighter concepts. MK is my bias, he's so adorable and has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard, like someone singing you a sweet lullaby. I can't get enough of it. Thank you RTK for bringing this group, as well as the others, into my life! :D

MK is so adorable. I love that he was on the survival show that created Monsta X and you can tell how much he loves the boys since he kept wanting to perform their music during RtK lol

vega

Thanks for reacting to this it was fun :) I hope you'll try to react to ONF and Pentagon I love their music. A suggestion for the next survival is street women fighter or street men fighter. But I would love to watch your reaction to Boys Planet too

Sannie

ONF my favorite boys! Fuse, please correct me if I'm wrong in saying that they were thinking about disbanding before this show? RTK really helped them with international fans. Including me. Thank goodness.

Derian Ortiz

austin the guy you always ask about was kevin (the boyz) that hair style was so iconic in him.

Kame

This was great! I had a hard tie to rank them this time. But now after sleeping I remember just 2 performances and that are Verivery's and Pentagon's. So I think they are my favourite. The Boyz grew through the show and I think they became better in Legendary War. I am happy that I watched both shows because I discovered new groups. In RTK it was ONF and TOO, in Legendary war I started to look more into BTOB. Thank you for posting your reactions for both shows. It was a great journey and I had a lot of fun to watch it with you. I am curious what will be next. But take your time, I need to catch up with the TXT and BTS contents...lol

If you're still up for some RTK/Kingdom content you can watch TBZ, ateez, and skz MAMA 2020 performances. They did somewhat of a "collab" for the preview of Kingdom(it was just when Mnet confirmed some of the lineup for Kingdom). It was pretty epic too. TBZ set the standard for the whole series and I think that's why a lot of people admired them throughout the whole show(and you can tell just from hearing other groups talk about them). I'd say their RTK performances were their best but their final stage kinda fell short for me(their MAMA performance for Checkmate was way way better). If they weren't obliged to go to Kingdom, I think it would've been better for them to not go tbh. You can tell how drained they were during Kingdom. Besides them, I think Oneus and ONF had the best growth from the show. Thanks for taking your time to check out RTK. Hope to see more of tbz content if you have time~ (and soshi perhaps?? XD)

Mr Clean

Alright im finally done with the kingdom series, after almos like 10 whole months of being away of patreon omg, shcool was just beating my ass but now i was able to get free from it for some months before college starts beating me too haha, ANYWAYS. This show was actually really good too, i originally just watched kingdom becuase of The boyz and never really got to watch this because i was TIRED after follwing kingdom while it was airing, watching it with you was much easier though <3, i knew pretty much all the groups in this season, except for TOO, and even in that i know that Woongki was there (i know him from boys planet), I now really understand why The boyz had it a bit harder in kingdom when they kept trying not to repeat what they did in road to kingdom. I already knew oneus and pentagon, but other than tbz, they were my stand out contestants of the show! Hui is such a talented and hardworking man, love him sm lol. Okaaaay sorry for my ranting i hope you're having a nice day <33333.
