Hey everyone!

Great week going through what's left on the to-do list for this chapter. The scene I went back to and fix was pretty fun. It did give me thought on how to plan my workflow posing in Blender. Definitely pros and cons, but the pros certainly outweighed the cons. Probably my favorite thing is being able to do the entire scene in one file, meaning instead of saving 100+ files for a scene. I just work in the one file. So if I need to correct something, instead of opening all those files. I just make the edits I need and everything in the timeline adjusts. Here's Paige doing her best Violet Beauregarde impression.

It's also nice having proper tools to fix those clippings on her arms.

Me and Puggy also had a sit down to discuss more about the animation I'm having him do. The creative process was refreshing, and we came up with a better sequence than originally planned. I'm more excited to see the final product. Whenever there's a major shift in the story, I like to change up main menu sequence. After finishing CH6's content, there will be another change in the main menu. I'll look into coding something in the preferences menu so you can change between the different main menus, should you want that option.

that wraps things up for now. Back to the grind I go.

Remember to stay safe and cozy.

> I'll look into coding something in the preferences menu so you can change between the different main menus, should you want that option. Not to devalue the intention and idea, but wouldn't it be more... IDK, time- and effort-effective to focus on things more relevant to Chapter 6? I mean, small cosmetic stuff is nice to have, but if it's it VS the actual game, I'd choose the actual game any day.

I was going to also write “I’ll save the extra stuff for next development “ as I’ve always been saying these last few updates when referring to out of scope things. As you can imagine I’m doing what I can keep on track and with everything going on trying to get this out, I’m sure you can understand a slip of the tongue every now and then.

S T

I can for sure. And I wasn't trying to attack you or something. Only to remind about priorities, which we all need now and then. Especially when developing a game AND being our own PM, producer, and game director for us the programmer and game designer. That can be tough.

Thanks for the update Digi! I hope development continues to go well 👍👍 Have a great week and stay safe out there 🙏❤️

Thanks, I apologize for snapping back like that. It’s just been an exhausting development cycle and trust me when I say I want to get this one out ASAP so I can start fresh on footing with the next update.

I know :) "Been there, done that," as they say. And really looking forward to getting Ch6. So good luck out there and stay strong.

Hi digi.B, please excuse my late reply, but it's been a long day. First of all, thanks for the DevLog. Thank you for the work you put into the update. I'm glad that the to-do list is getting smaller as the release gets closer. I think it's really good that you're looking for creative exchange even in this phase and that you're still dealing with the little things. These are the difference at the end between standard and a milestone like Artemis, even if it delays the update a little. But only when you are satisfied with the update should you publish it, because only then will we be satisfied with it. I wish you and everyone else a good time and stay healthy.

Lilatentakel

Hey ST, I see it a little differently than you do. Firstly, I'm sure that digi.B is working consistently on the update. But creating a game is a creative process and every creative person needs to take a step back from what they're doing. Furthermore, like everyone else, they also need input from third parties and need to exchange ideas. What's more, at the end of an update, every developer is already planning for the next update. And then there are phases where you have to wait (keyword renders) and have time for other things. I could list more, but that would go beyond the scope here. Just to conclude: I'm not trying to say that you're wrong or anything like that, but just to express that I have a different opinion here.

S T

>And then there are phases where you have to wait (keyword renders) and have time for other things. If you have a dedicated rendering workstation or at least a second GPU specifically for rendering. Otherwise you'd probably want not to touch the PC rendering a lot of stuff to avoid possible glitches and/or freezing and/or overloads and/or other things. The rendering periods are good time to think, though. Then again, I don't know, maybe digi.B indeed has a dedicated rendering PC and actually can work on other stuff while it's rendering.

Thanks for the Devlog 😊

Always love hearing how things are developing!!
