Hey everyone!

Temps are rising but the render box is holding strong. Pretty much the primary reason I even watercooled the system because I have to store it in the garage. Because I don't want that thing dumping hot air inside.

I wanted to discuss file hosting and possible alternatives.

I've officially gotten rid of GDRIVE. That seemed the best until you hit a download limit. And yes, there are tricks to get around it. But I just want you guys to click a button and the download starts.

MEGA I still support since some have expressed that as their preferred host. Some have a subscription there for their own reasons. Others, like with GDRIVE, have their methods of getting around the 5GB quota. MEGA gave me some issues this last release. The initial upload was quick. Then as I tried to upload the patch, things slowed dramatically. I'm talking from 90+ MB/s down 1-5Kb/s. Which was annoying as I was trying to stay on top of the uploads.

WeTransfer seems to be great for most. I do get a few replies that the download fails after a certain point, so that's concerning.

PixelDrain is the newest I've been using. PD is kind of the reverse MEGA. Free accounts have a 5GB limit. But I'm supporter of the creator's Patreon and because of that, there's no download quota for you guys. PD will be my main platform as there's a lot more I can do with it and I plan on setting more of it up as I go through development.

I wanted to get opinions on other file hosts. I'm looking for something that offers clean interfaces with no popups or anything malicious. Good speeds. I don't mind having to pay to host if it means convenience for you guys. I pay for WeTransfer and PixelDrain and those two have had the least issues.

Have yourselves a great week and be sure to hydrate!

Hello Digi, I would suggest to use aws s3, or equivalent object storage solutions. These are much more robust than consumer grade platforms. These might be associated costs to calculate though.

GoFile has been by far the most reliable for me.

Vilesh Darothar

Definitely mega for me as I have a sub there

I do appreciate you keeping Mega. I maintain a subscription and have had no problems using them over the years. GoFile has always been nice. PD, minus the limits that you have fortunately taken care of, is nice but typically slow.

Thank you 4 the update, im the odd one i guess i use Mega, yes i pay for it but like there cloud storage to save my games, etc.. There still cheaper than ms arg! Yeah not a micro-softy fan was great not seams now a for profit. not testing shat just push a update let us then tell them what is wrong ? lol./ Mega cloud storage and no forced updates or spam. Worth it at least for me.

I typically use PD or mega since I personally never had any issues with those. But I've seen people getting quite bad speeds from mega unfortunately.

Why not use Torrents?

Drako07Spyder

I use mega for me, I'll just use a vpn to change locations when I hit the 5gb limit

Schobbob .

pixeldrain is great, had no issues with it so far, other options have had some issues like GDrive being at capacity or mega randomly not working

JEH

Thanks for the DevLog.👍😊 If possible I use Mega, as I have a sub there.

Hello digi.B, Thanks for the DevLog. I find GoFile the best myself, but I'm sure you'll find a good solution. Thanks for the great picture. Immediately gets the air back on Artemis. I wish you and everyone else a good time and stay healthy.

Some of my other favorite AVN authors seem to use the store at oppaiman.com for downloads, since it ties into patreon's membership levels and allows downloads based on what you're supposed to be able to access. And I have noticed that their downloads are not as rate limited as other download services seem to be. That said, I don't know how much they end up charging the authors to be able to host the downloads, since it's a store. I'm guessing they like to charge a portion of the subscribership costs for the people that actually download through their store, but that is a guess.
