Happy Monday!

Pretty intense week juggling multiple things. While that sounds like complaining, I'm not. I like to think I perform better when my to-do list is stacked. First off, Artemis store page is now live on Steam. The release date shows Q1 2023, though the release is scheduled to go live on Jan 31st, 2023. I placed Q1 2023 in case I need a little more time to wrap up the Steam build. Because 80% of my attention is dedicated to CH5 development, and 10% is focused on Steam. Not a whole lot is left to do for Steam. Achievements, a trailer, and the actual build itself, which seems to be a small handful of adjustments to the code. Not to mention marketing. Once Book One is out the door for Steam, all of my focus can be on development until Book Two is complete, which is when Steam will get the second update.

I also got all the main characters shaders converted over to PBR. And with that, the new backgrounds are rendered for the DataLeak menus. Artemis has two; a re-rendered version of her in her pod after completing CH1. And it will update to what you see below after completing CH4.

You'll notice some are missing. I'll be squeezing in an additional slot for a mix of some girls. Unfortunately for Zoe, I had to make the tough choice of placing her in the backseat. This doesn't mean she's being cut completely. Her "date" was originally planned in CH3, but got moved to CH4 due to not having her model fixed. Squeezing her into CH4 felt out of place in terms of introducing her via a "date" and with how things are planned for Book Two in terms of events, I'm playing it safe by not trying to wedge a character in. With V, she's got core story content laid out, which we'll start to see unfold. And, of course, Cassie... I honestly wish I could see the global stats of what choices everyone makes with her, and regret not adding her to the poll. (I tried to update it but it did not let me.). But 1 out of 100 probably mentioned liking her and that was referring more to liking her as a villain, haha.

I did manage to meet my goal and chomp through the outline last week. This week is a holiday for us in the states, celebrating Thanksgiving. So, progress may feel a little short. But since I still have much of the script to write, I'll be taking that with me to work on.

That said, this week is a week of expressing thanks. And I have a lot to be thankful for. You guys have been amazing and I'm so grateful for your support. More so on top of supporting Artemis, but also my personal life. Last weekend I had my own Koko level crisis. Fortunately, it did not involve a bear, but my doggo suddenly became ill. Last Monday, I took him to the vet and learned he has diabetes and was in real bad shape. I was fortunate enough to be able to take a bit of Artemis funds to get him hospitalized. Last week was a rough adjustment, but just super thankful to be able to afford the hospital bill and also work from home where I can tend to him during the recovery period.

He's home and has the meds and extra care he needs. Doggo and I really want to express our thanks to you all.

Have a great week, and see you all next Monday!

And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating!

Pet the good boy for us. And ya like was talked about can understand having to make some decisions on a girl or two going forward

I love the character of Cassandra. For me it’s always good in a story to have the character who seems to know they are wrong but constantly trying to justify it.

Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all the time effort and hard work you put into the game we really do appreciate it and also tell you poor doggo he is BESTEST BOY and offer him pets from us.

much love to the Doggo, I have kids but love our fur children as well. I was just doing another fresh run through, love your story and your vision. I am so happy to be supporting you in this project Happy Turkey Day

Cassie should be there IMO. If anything it gives the players a sense of uncertainty and mystery about the character, i.e. is there a redemption arc for her, or some dark path where you somehow end up together? The absence of her there could indicate to the player that it is very cut and dry, i.e. she is just the antagonist and that won't change. Plus she's bonkers hot, so including her is still a win, even if just for hate-fuck reasons. Just my 2 cents. Happy Thanksgiving!

She is a really interesting character. It's obvious that her attitude and behavior is emotionally hurting herself as much as others and she still sees no other way. It's like she doesn't understand the concept of love.

Diabetes is a bitch but thankfully there are ways to live with it. Get better doggo.

I love your game. I can't decide if it passed BADIK in my opinion as the best VN I've played or not (I've played over 50). I love your storyline and graphics more and BADIK's minigames and free roam more, although your LIDAR feature is the best map use I've seen. I think I'd say you're my favorite now because I'm really looking forward to your next update more. Thanks for all the work you have put into this. It's awesome.

Great Game - So Glad your pup is doing Better

Agreed! Your #1 may change if you have not played Acting Lessons or Leap of Faith yet. There are many contenders out there depending on what you like. (I have about 200 AVN's under my belt BTW) Kinda have brain freeze or I'd list a few more.

I'm somewhere around 160 to 200 AVN's played now. I've played both of those. Acting Lessons is infamous for us having to make that one awful choice near the end. Others near the top for me are Pale Carnations, Love of Magic, Innocent Witches, Eternum, Lust Academy, Lust Theory, and Fashion Business. LoM has a weird combat system using card matching. I normally hate matching games but it is oddly fun and isn't the focus of the game. Still, Artemis beats all of them for me and I eagerly await the next update.
