Patrons!
I'm back with another tutorial!
This time, revisiting side-chain.
I've noticed a lot of demos from Patrons where i am hearing issues with the side-chain which can cause low-end muddyness & messy mixes.
So i wanted to do another tutorial to show you guys a few methods as to how i'd go about side-chaining both the sub and upper mid range elements to the kick.
KICK LENGTH IS KEY!
Shortening down your kicks is essential. We are trying to avoid any 'subby tails' from the kick bleeding over into our sub.
Making sure the kick and sub side-chain slot together in opposite shapes to really make sure it's nice and tight. I call this the 'Jigsaw' effect.
Sticking to these rules should really help you nail down the kick & bass low end relationship, and help the groove in your tracks lock in nicely!
Any questions, drop me a DM!
