Dragon Leveling Ch.22

Summary: The morning after the day he was killed by his girlfriend, Issei woke up and saw two things. First was Rias Gremory sleeping next to him in his bed, and second was a floating blue window congratulating him on becoming The Player and telling him to go work out as a daily quest.

I love all the FF 16 inspiration. Issei HAS kind of been neglecting his devil abilities lately. It would make sense, if experimented with, he would've unlocked his Canon technique 'illegal move Trident' by now. Great work!

Didn't see that coming but can't complain I like the idea he has to struggle against a version of his self that only relide on drags power making him have to combine his other abilities to over come it.in the anime the idea was okay but the execution was terrible he should had to combine his devil nature with the boasted gear to win but they didn't do that.what a miss opportunity.

Minor correction on the skills: Lightning resistance says its due to the pact with Ddraig instead of Rassei.

I’m kinda disappointed issei isn’t using rulers hand as much as his other abilities. It’s such a useful power, especially when it evolves to its final form.

Yeh, I have been neglecting that abilities as well. No worry though, he will start using it more from the next chapter. As you might have not noticed, the whole idea of Issei vs dark Issei in this chapter is to show him that he hasn't been using everything he has at his disposal at their full potential. He has been neglecting a lot of abilities (ruler' hands, Promotions), spamming only what he's used to using.

Why would he just pull out a random sword? He can just call back ascalon and Kamish daggers back to his inventory.

Ooh, that's true. My mistake. Better yet, he can even try to use Ruler's Hand to recall his weapons, but that just slip my mind.
