Finally! Another update for Dragon Leveling. The start of the long awaited Kyoto Arc, chapter 63, the Kyoto Trip, is here!

Have a good time reading, everyone! And I'm so sorry for the long wait. Having a bit too much fun with My Hero Leveling, but I did promise some of you that Dragon Leveling will still be updated regularly, and I'm here to deliver and keep that promise!

I'm sure that I can squeeze out another update for this one and maybe My Hero Leveling as well before the month ends. But of course, I hope that you guys will have a great time reading this chapter. There are some major changes to the arc that you can already see in this chapter compare to canon, and it's gonna be one intense arc.

As always, make sure to leave me a heart and a review in the comment once you have finished reading. I love how well recieved the first chapter was, so I hope that this one will do just as well.

I will come back really soon with the next updates!

Dragon Leveling Ch.63

Summary: The morning after the day he was killed by his girlfriend, Issei woke up and saw two things. First was Rias Gremory sleeping next to him in his bed, and second was a floating blue window congratulating him on becoming The Player and telling him to go work out as a daily quest.

I've been waiting for this arc ever since I started reading the story and even if things just started and there's a lot of setup, I can't say I'm disappointed. I genuinely felt like the character interactions really carried this chapter even more so than usual. Rias managed to get herself involved in the trip and her being a japan otaku really helped out in addition to her heightened physical abilities. I also really like how you had Kiyome involved as well considering the fact that yokai are involved here. So overall a good role for her to fill. There's also making sure that Rias stays focused on what they're here to do since she is quite eager to be here and that has been shown throughout the chapter. The addition of the camera was not exactly important but I feel like it was a key aspect of the chapter since Iseei's doing what Rias asked by taking pictures and I am glad to see that we actually see him doing it several times. Due to the importance of Kyoto we actually got to see some key figures such as Serafall and Aphrodite join in and we also get introduced to Yasaka properly. The photo the former two join in was a favorite moment of mine and I really like how Aphrodite changed the girls' outfits and to fitting kimonos. Issei still got the same lackluster room he got in Canon but this time there's a good explanation for that and also he really was meant to share The room Rias got. Not much to say here other than well played. Ingvild in particular was one of my favorite parts of this chapter since this is very new to her and you have Issei going out of his way to be as helpful as possible all throughout the chapter. Always nice to see our protagonist act like the nice guy he really is, especially to someone who is in essentially a whole new world due to the time she spent unconscious. So yeah, there was a lot to like in this chapter as far as I'm concerned.

Great chapter, but I think that even though it works, you shouldn't have included Rias on the trip because she'll take up time that Issei could be spending with other characters. Besides, the previous arc was literally all about her, so you could have used this arc to introduce the other characters without Rias's interference.
