Laureline is one of my early fictional character crush. I was too young to get the dense storylines of Valerian’s books, but I was loving the art and especially her. That might be why it’s only the second time I tried to draw her in more than 25 years doing this, and I’m still unsatisfied by the result. I like what I’ve done here, but something is missing.

Next time, I think I’ll try to emulate Mézières style. That might be it.

Anyway… Still enjoying the results.
Hope you guys dig it!

It was the same for me. I loved reading all the european comics in the libary from Valerian over Storm to Franka. Newer Stuff I love is Sillage for example. I think I will reread them again. And thanks for the great picture

STORM IS AMAZING, although I think I've only read 2, maybe 3 story in Heavy Metal. I'll admit, I don't know Franka I'm waiting for the fist tome of the integral of Rork as we speak ( amaizing black and white art)

That is the main problem. So much great stuff to read and so little time. Or getting a space problem^^. Franka is a great read but is fairly obscure. I would not know about it if my libary did not have it. The one who decided what to put on the shelf must have been a comic enthusiast^^. Rork is great and the other stuff the artist did is a great read, too.

Speaking of fictional character crushes one of my firsts besides Laureline was Ember from Storm(at least I think that is what she is called in english) and some more. I think that is how I got the thing for redheads^^

I'm one of the few nutcases who actually liked the movie as well. Although I cut about 20 minutes out of the second half. Basically that whole bit with Rihanna. That turns it into quite a watchable romp. By Storm, do you mean the comics drawn by Don Lawrence? I have the complete set digitally if anyone is interested, but only with Dutch dialogue. One of the few comic series I actively tried to collect as a child. https://imgur.com/a/21jKUKv
