Hey folks, it’s only been a few days, but I’ve managed to get a lot done! As you can see in the pictures, there are four new EPMX models ready to start animating.
All of them needed quite a bit of cleanup and adjustments before I could even attach my rig, so here’s what’s new:
YYB Miku
This is the same model I’ve been using so far, but with a few changes. There are now three versions of her EPMX model.
Model re-centered
Center and Groove bones repositioned
Added “Legacy” Center bone morph
EPMX version has fewer materials and morphs than the regular model
Kaat 2.0
Like Miku, this model needed several adjustments to work properly with my rig. There are two versions of her EPMX model.
Model re-centered
Center and Groove bones repositioned
Added “Legacy” Center bone morph
Arm bone positions adjusted
Non-functional foot and toe bones removed
“D” deformation bones removed (weights transferred to standard leg bones)
Functional toe bones added (one per foot)
Updated bone and display panel translations for MMD
Buff Sin Sack
The old big Sin Sack has evolved into Buff Sinsack and now has two EPMX versions.
Model re-centered
Center and Groove bones repositioned
Added “Legacy” Center bone morph
New removable part (same system as previous male models)
Head and neck bone positions adjusted
Suit Sin Sack
This one is essentially a regular Sin Sack in a suit. Only one version for him.
Model re-centered
Center and Groove bones repositioned
Added “Legacy” Center bone morph
Simplified the leg deformation rig, Blender didn’t like the old one
Leg weights transferred to IK bones
Knee and upper body 2 bones repositioned
Other Updates
Rin’s models: Arm pole target bones repositioned. Functionality is the same, but this slightly changes elbow direction in existing animations. Recommendation: stick with your current version for ongoing projects and use the new one for future work.
Izumi’s models and the standalone rig: Same arm pole target change applied. Izumi also received improved butt helper bone constraints for smoother function, this is automatic and does not require any user action.
What’s Next
With these models prepped, it’s finally time to dive into the final episode of Izumi’s Part-Time Jobs. I’ll also be creating some new animations for use in the episode, but first I need to take care of a bit more groundwork before moving on to the fun part.
I’ll keep you updated along the way. Thanks as always for your support.
Couple extra things, newer EPMX models were made with blender 4.5.2 and also, the standalone regular PMX models of this 4 will be publicly available in my public models link.
