Before moving on I come to a bit of a problem, so to speak, I think the outfit looks better without the garterbel so I might save it for something else, and thus I will most likely take it out, but the question I have is, what do you think looks better, black semi transparent or white thigh highs?

Hm, black semi transparent could look more interesting if you use an sph texture for the transparency. If I remember correctly MMD should use the alpha channel from an sph texture that's set to multiply like a regular texture's alpha channel. If the sph has a circular gradient, with the middle semi transparent, and the border opaque, it should produce the typical nylon stocking look. So you should be able to get a glimpse of her skin when viewing her legs frontally, but it should turn opaque as the surface of the stockings curves away.

In the images the white looks better, but it's hard to do a comparison for this specific case without seeing how it looks with the transparency. It's usually case by case with me and since she has a lot of white and a lot of black already could go either way. Since it's more of a setting change than additional modeling, you could do both and just add a slider.

personally i prefer black because maid outfits are usually black with white accessories to compliment it.
