"Thrust a pun them" sounds like a joke Arthur Fleck would bring before sex

Assuming Jeff meant “The Man with the Golden Gun”, the Bond film from 1974, and not the 1955 western “Man with the Gun”

Nervous_NRG

I walked into my screening of Monkey Man (in Wisconsin lol) and the only other people in the theater were an older couple that were one seat away from me in the row I had selected earlier in the day. I ended up sitting a row back and little to the right of the original seat. No one else showed up for the screening.

Derek Cheng

If you’re holding seats for other people before a movie, how do you avoid the trailers? Asking for a friend.

Matthew Walker

Re: Ripley: you may recognize Johnny Flynn as one of the leads of the show Lovesick. He's also recently been in Emma, The Outfit, and some other movies—and I'm excited to see the direction his career is taking!

“4 Body Problem” made me spit out my drink. Thank you Jeff.

I burst out laughing at fourth body problem. Well played Jeff!

Michael Hein

I'm with Jeff on this. The feeling of waiting in line, as I get closer and closer to the cashier while I wait for my wife/kid/friends to get back from the bathroom (or wherever they've gone) is absolutely anxiety-inducing lol. Normally it's an emergency trip to the bathroom and the response is "sorry, there was a SUPER long line at the bathrooms"

If you haven't seen Dev Patel's interview with Ali Plumb for BBC Radio 1 I recommend it - he talks through all the huge setbacks he faced when making Monkey Man and I now think it's even more impressive he even made that movie.

Linus

This was a real ride to listen to as someone living in a civilized country (i.e. one in which reserved seating in cinema is the norm).

Tyrel

Why’s no one talking about the dang fallout series? It’s arguably better than the dang video game. Gosh dangit.

I saw him recently in a play on the West End directed by Sam Mendes - he was incredible

Ripley is amazing. Jeff, your high praises weren’t high enough. Literally every cut away scene could be printed as an art piece. Thanks for the recommendation!

“The Man With the GOLDEN* Gun” *my emphasis

J Hay

I don’t give people I don’t know the benefit of a doubt when it comes to sitting next to a stranger at a movie. Most people who do so are assholes, so that’s my default.
