The Filmcast: After Dark is the bonus show where we talk about a variety of random topics that didn't make it into the main podcast - including your questions and what's going on in our lives.

In this episode, David, Devindra, and Jeff react to the How to Train Your Dragon live action trailer, react to the concept of these live action remakes, and discuss the phenomenon of people singing Wicked in theaters.

PATRONS: You can get this audio in your podcast app by going to patreon.com/filmpodcast, going to the "My Membership" section, and copying and pasting the RSS link to your podcast app.

“Forcening” sounds awesome!

Papool Chaudhari

Maybe we can finally get Jeff to watch more than one episode of "Preacher" 😁

Tyler Sexton

Red One might be a fun trailer to take down if y’all aren’t gonna watch it. That thing is a monstrosity.

Cian (key-in)

I'm sorry but that "Sound of Silence" cover is from 2016, not the 90s or early 2000s. Truly a sign that things were about to change for the worst lol

Foxhound

Forget The Mummy I'm still waiting for that "Oldboy" review 😭

David Stripinis

One forcening each, one Patreon poll. Every three months. That’s everyone gets one per year

DarmineDoggyDoor

Love the forcening idea… maybe once a year a Patreon member could be chosen at random, then they get to choose something for you to watch & review

Donald Ward

Sometimes I can’t tell if my Patreon player is running on 1.5x speed when you start these.

Peter Tribe

I agree with Devindra, you guys should use the Patreon polls more. Screen drafts do regular polls and it’s awesome.

Matthew

The Forcening might finally get Dave to watch Firefly.

Shawn Tomkin

Hey, David quoted my Bluesky post. Now I can go into the west, and remain Galadriel. I think the best case scenario for a "live action" reminaging is to tell a different story in the same world. For example, a much better Avatar: The Last Airbender Netflix series might have explored the adventures of a not-Aang Avatar. There are even books they could have adapted. That way, fans of the world get more, rather than a hackish remake of what already existed.

Honestly, this should be the series they start with first.

I like drawing pigeons

Did Dave say he'd tell us his thoughts on "Nobody Wants This" and then forget to get around to it? I can't sleep now.

Shane Driscoll

Eventually one has to assume that David and Jeff haven't watched Interview with a Vampire solely because they've agreed that Devindra's irritation is far more entertaining than the show could ever be.

Patrick Neon

The Forcening sounds like the best idea!! How about making it a Patreon poll every time, so we, the audience, have some say in the process? We’d likely end up choosing movies we’ve already seen. Of course, you, the hosts, might try to influence the Patreons by suggesting movies you think would get picked. I think episodes like this could be some of the most entertaining—especially when one host is really passionate about a movie, while the others aren’t as into it.

Jay Wood

Jeffffff! You must watch a man on the inside with ted danson on Netflix. 100% Jeff coded good vibes nice comedy 🤌🤌🤌❤️

Nervous_NRG

Paramount+ is worth it for Players, the esports mockumentary. (and Survivor lol)

Reynaldo K. Cruz

Omg I forgot Jeff doesn’t like MIB, which is easily the best of those three movies (gladiator, the mummy, MIB)

J Hay

I’m not liking the Turkey comments. I’m vegan, and I’ve previously mentioned how our hosts (and a lot of people in this Patreon group) should go vegan. Not only is meat and dairy consumption horrific for billions of animals and trillions of fish/sea animals yearly, it’s also significantly responsible for part of our planet’s climate chaos.

Outlandish Beats

Yay! You liked my idea! :-D Also, it was extremely weird to just hear your username start a whole new segment, felt like that part in The Game when the news anchor starts talking to Michael Douglas..

Amanda

In our house we do "Club DannyGo" 🤣
