Hey everybody! Sorry, this break took a bit longer than expected. I'll explain why in a bit (don't worry, I'm not pregnant), but I want to say first that we're going to try to be back to regular updates on Sunday. We'll have some INCREDIBLY cute and lewd rewards up around Saturday as well which I know you're gonna love, so keep an eye out for that! We're really excited about this next chapter, and we can't wait to get back to work! Just some unexpected developments happened over these last couple weeks to slow us down a bit. Let's get into that now.

So... yeah. As most of you know, we have a house in Louisiana. I inherited some land after my mom passed away a couple decades ago, but we were only able to put a trailer on it five years ago thanks to your amazing support. We cannot thank you enough for this.

But if you've been paying attention to American politics, things have been getting kind of tense lately for adult artists. Oklahoma, our neighbor state northwest of us, is putting forth a bill to criminalize and imprison adult content creators and distributors. It's just a bill, it's not guaranteed to pass, and it's not in Louisiana, but... it's kinda scary, isn't it? There's also the possible gutting of FEMA, an organization that is extremely important in a state that is constantly under assault by hurricanes. Leslie's medication is under threat of being banned here. LGBTQ+ people and their rights are under attack, something we would fall under. And all of this is supported by the majority of people who live here in Louisiana.

And as you might recall a particularly harrowing life update from a couple years ago, Leslie and I lost our entire family. We're completely alone out in these swamps and surrounded by painful memories. We have no friends near us, no one we can rely on if things fall apart. A few months ago, our car broke down in a fast food drive-through, and we've since had to get a AAA membership just to ensure that we had someone, anyone who could help us in another event like that. We have each other, and your incredible financial support is obviously a godsend, but... things are going to be pretty bleak for us out here if things go bad.

After a lot of talk, we made the hard decision to sell our house. We love our house, we love our little peaceful paradise in the woods, but the longer we stay, the more we put ourselves at risk. If Patreon ever goes under or an adult content ban reaches a federal level, we have no employment prospects here in the woods. We have to go.

The good news is that we've had a realtor come out, and they're pretty confident it can sell within 3 months and for more than enough to get us the hell out of here. So that's exactly what we're going to do! We're packing up, selling the house and land, and moving to Portland, Oregon! We've got LOTS of friends up there, several comic places (including Hiveworks/Slipshine) are headquartered there, lots of conventions, and we're in biking distance to EVERYTHING. Friends, prospects, opportunities! Our careers (and ourselves) would be much, much safer up there.

We've already begun to pack and declutter so that the realtor can take good pictures. And unfortunately, this meant that the dick wall had to come down.

If you don't remember, the Dick Wall was a monument to the people who specifically donated more to help us get this house. It's stood tall and hard in our bedroom these last five years. But sadly... the stickers had to be peeled off, and were not salvageable (and in fact, took some of the wall with it. Gotta repaint now).

We still have the list of everyone who donated, though I doubt we can recreate the wall in a Portland apartment. Maybe make a poster out of it? Or maybe a special section on the Rock Cocks site itself? We'll figure out something to do to commemorate these proud dicks, but I just want to thank you all again to those who donated to put your name on a dick. We loved our little house in the woods, and we're going to miss it so much. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. Excited as I might be for a move to Portland, a part of me will always wish we could live in this house forever.

Don't worry, Bart and Nico are coming with us, too.

But that's all for today. We'll see you this weekend with more Rock Cocks!

I'm glad you are getting out of dangerous area, best of luck to you all.

Jock Murphy

I think you will love it up here in Oregon. I have lived in the Aloha/Beaverton area for 30 years (San Francisco before that) and love it here

Byron

I hope you guys have a swift and safe move!

Vee

omgg that’s crazy but i’m glad yall are safe with a promising solution ! wishing the best for yall moving process 🫶🏽🫶🏽

John Goode

I lost all my money and had to move back to the city with friends and security. The ability to bus everywhere within 10 minutes cannot be understated. Good luck!

Nitro The Dog

Best of luck!!! My very best friend moved to Portland a few months ago, and they're loving it out there. The future is scary, but at least in a place like Portland you'll have much better prospects (and easily accessible community) if things ever start to crumble.

rinylvinyl

I wish you both the best. Being in a similar area, it is hard to deal with *broadly waves hands at everything*.

Aeryn Light

Good luck!! Change is hard, but I'm glad you have new opportunities to look forward to.

Jim Avery

I hate that things are like this now and they had absolutely no reason to be. Hopefully Oregon treats you better than Louisiana. Bury my dick in an appropriate location, please.

As someone from and in the UK, I don't think I would have survived the US. You Americans are like superheroes for living there. I pray that you'll be able to have a better life in Oregon. I kinda preconsiously knew you'd have to leave Louisiana. Love from Charlie.

Melissa

The PNW will welcome you 💖

FuuMixALot

This is AMAZING news! I love all of this! (The personal stuff to you not the bleak US stuff) This sounds like it's a big change but one you sorely needed! I can't tell you how happy I am for you. As for the Dicks? I'm sad to see them go but if you need ideas for what to do in the new place or on the site lemme know. I'm down to help with ideas. 😁

Quadrant

Pregancy wasn't the first thing my mind wasn't jumping to :P Sorry to hear about the fascist dictat making things go to shit but you will outlast him I'm sure. Hopefully the move works out well for you, and the comfort that there's a buyer lined up means you don't have to wait. I have a comic artist friend who also lives in Oregon. Not Portland, but around there. Sounds like a much more welcoming state. Sounds like an opportunity for an even bigger and better dick wall... and who knows, maybe one day you can find another peaceful paradise there.

Miss Understands

Take all the time you need! I post your stuff all over the net (https://www.reddit.com/r/sex_comics/comments/1id2jxg/the_autistic_shy_girl_in_orbit_is_back_on_earth/), and I always include a link to your Patreon and tell that I'm a paid subscriber, and suggest that they contribute to your Patreon, too. And while you're studiously taking suggestions from me, WRITE MORE OF THE SHY GIRL WHO WAS IN ORBIT IN THE WINNEBAGO somehow! Have her land the Winnebago and meet the rock group. She was the best character I've ever seen of any comic, Web or otherwise!

It genuinely sucks that it's gotten to a point where people need to leave everything they knew behind just to stay safe and not get imprisoned for doing the things they love. But thankfully, I do not see Oregon EVER becoming a place like that, EVER. We're a weird state, and genuinely are kinda all freaks up here so honestly I think we're safe. Still, I welcome you to the PNW! Trust me when I say it, as an Oregon Resident for all of my life, you're going to love it here. A word of warning: DON'T GO INTO EASTERN AND SOUTHERN OREGON OUTSIDE OF MAJOR CITIES LIKE BEND, REDMOND, PRINEVILLE, AND KLAMATH FALLS. IT IS H E L L OUT THERE. ONE MOUNTAIN RANGE IS ALL IT TAKES FOR SOME REASON. Christmas Valley might be chill { i have family out there that fully support me as Transgender } so, no idea.

Populuxe

Hey, I’m one of those dicks on your wall! The green one in the bottom left. I completely understand the necessity of getting yourselves to a safer place. I know this sucks for you, but it’s what we need to do while half of America masturbates to the dumbest dictator ever. I’m in the Seattle area, but I’ll be in Portland in early June to see They Might Be Giants. Maybe we can meet up at Powell’s Bookstore and get a beer or something. I’m pretty sure you already know about Powell’s but if not, welcome to the greatest bookstore in the US. It will blow your mind.

Michael Butchin

I am so sorry that you have to uproot yourselves and travel far afield to find new and more pleasant pastures. I know what it feels like, as I recently had to leave a comfortable little home I had carved out for myself in Beijing to return to Philadelphia PA. It was not easy, and I have all empathy for you. I am glad that my monthly subscription to your webcomic is able to help keep you guys going. Have a safe and smooth transition! I hope you have all success in the rest of this year.

Ama

I'm so so sorry you have to move in order to feel safe 😞 but i hope you all love Portland!

Mae

These are scary times. Glad you’re moving closer to your circle, even if the circumstances are rough it’s going to be so nice. I’m a bi trans person living in FL and aiming for NorCal- being in a similar spot I’m extra happy for you 🥰 Community is so important for our well-being! Happy moving!

While I am NOT the target demographic (at least, not yet), I have plenty of friends - both online and IRL - that are. Then there are the creators I love to support here. Some have adult-themed comics. Some do not. Doesn't matter to me - I like their work and I support as I am able. For any in those groups that are in the US, I am concerned. Very concerned. The entire state of the US political systems and those that support the current state of affairs have me concerned about those I mentioned - and the rest of the decent people of this country. While it would be nice for none of these horrible ideas, proposals, and laws to actually become effective, I also know that is not realistic. I very much hope and pray that the most horrible of these die on the vine and never make it to a point where they can be abused to hurt those that are 'different' - which is what it comes down to. I also hope and pray that my friends, those creators I support, creators I do not currently support, and anyone that is facing potential persecution - or worse - as a result of who they are, what they do, or for anything, really, are able to be and stay safe and ride out this storm. There are still decent people in this world, and in this country. Too bad the rest drown us out.

Peter G

I can understand why you want to move. My Niece decided to move to Vancouver, WA across the river for the same reason. Good luck!

OlivePeanuts

I don't mind delays if it means you guys can move safely to somewhere with actual freedom to do your art. What happened to "The land of the free" we were supposed to be proud off.

ADHDavy

If y’all pass through Nebraska in your way to Oregon, HMU and food’s on us! Sad to see the dick wall coming down but that just means it can come back even stronger and cockier than ever! (I think mine faded anyway so this just means it’ll be rejuvenated lol)

Totes Not Thea

I was on that wall! Good luck with the move!

Carol

We moved to North Carolina kind of naively thinking the state is purple enough to be safe. Gerrymandering threw all of that out of the window so we're moving to Seattle. We have family there, and some friends. It's a heartbreaking thing to have to do.

Uniquitous

Sorry you have to move but it is definitely the right call.

Justin Wood

I, too, was a dick on that wall, though I can't really make it out in the picture. I'm sorry you folks need to move, but hopefully it serves the purpose of bringing a sense of stability and belonging to your lives, and allows your creativity to truly blossom!

Garrett

The PNW is the shit. You'll love it here!

Liam Barksdale

Good luck! Portland is great. Amazing food and art and music! I left Seattle 3 years ago for the greener pastures (and way more chill shores ) of Europe (Basque Country [Spain side]). I am appalled by the current state of the US, being run by a bullying orange moronic child and his even more childish South African idiot little brother. At least the west coast has some cushion of protection from him for now.

Aaron Crabtree

Times are forcing us to make hard decisions. I wish we'll on you journey!

Ben Burch

I know folks there and will introduce you once you are there.

Jesse Jones

What an incredibly challenging decision, but also exciting. Sounds like you'll find a good community there.

Felis Cactus

I had to go back and find this post because the more recent post mentioned moving - Wednesday was my birthday too but with all the anti-trans stuff this past week I did not have a happy birthday. Anyway, I didn't get on the dick wall, but I've been following you both and this comic since you were in the New Orleans apartment, so I'm glad to see you both taking care of yourself. I bet you'll LOVE Portland. I'm still stuck in Florida, but I do have friends and family here, which is what makes it hard to imagine moving. You'll definitely have a chosen family there in Portland, and that matters the most. Beautiful pictures of the nature though. (And I think it's so unfair that such beautiful states like Louisiana, Florida, and other southern states are so politically red!!)

Dennis Groome

I was born in New Orleans and left LA for work a decade ago (for Missouri, so I didn't get much of a political upgrade). I will always love Louisiana, but I totally know I won't ever live there again. I have close friends, a married couple, that have a trans son and they made the choice to leave for Spokane to give their son a better life. It's big and scary leaving your home for a new one, but don't stay where the landscape is becoming hostile. Much love from someone who's made a big move.
