LET HER DO IT

So unfortunately, bit of a bummer this week. Some of you probably know that in addition to writing hot comics like this and my work helping over at Slipshine, I also help out over on the publishing site Hiveworks, which I've been a part of since the earliest days of Blaster Nation. After a very hellish few months helping the team there do everything possible in trying to prevent it, Hiveworks has sadly closed its print and publishing divisions. It will still live on as a general web host, but my role at Hiveworks is officially over after 13 years.

It's a weird feeling with a lot of weird circumstances around it that I'm probably not gonna be able to articulate for quite some time, but I'm sad it ended the way it did. I'll still be doing what I can to help out the affected artists and staff, of course. But in a sense, it's a bit freeing. Hiveworks took up a lot of my time, and I want to put that new free time back into networking with other artists and building up a community of adult artists (y'know, when I'm not writing other comics and games). I'll be tinkering away at the free Rock Cocks site to try to get some new stuff going, so stay tuned for more!

Wow. Fuckin' MAD props for Seth! He's really looking out for his clients. Now, that said, we already know from that makeout/chat session Suria had with Elizabeth that this is something Suria really wants to do. If I understand her intentions correctly, Suria wants to do something special that the average rock band just does not do. But, if she understands that the King wants, first and foremost, a sex act, maybe she can find a way to make her music something integral- something that the average sex act just would not do. H'mmm. This could be really interesting if the gang can flesh out (-heh. 'Flesh....') a truly unique musical sex act. I hope that Coral and Clover and Elizabeth stick with them; they're such a great team. And again- I am impressed with Seth. He really is doing his best to look out for Steg and Suria. He's a Good Guy. I hope that even if The Rock Cocks make the transition into a sex show, he sticks with them. They need a guy like him to protect them from the worse elements of the industry.

Remember, Seth is their manager. His job is to promote and protect his clients. This is a massive red flag. Nudist, sex clubs, exhibitionism, all personal and their choice. This is paid sex work and money is a massively Influential thing. this can be dangerous as this kinda work isn't regulated or legal (nor is the sex club). He needs to make sure they understand and it might even be a step to far for him. That being said, we're all here for it. This is everything the Rock Cocks have been heading towards. Say your piece and let them perform.

I get Seth is trying to look out for both Suria and Steg, because this would be scandalous and he has to handle their PR. It crosses over from being a music act into a sex act, and that would be red flags for a lot of venues. But it also feels like he's learned nothing from them on this. Not helped by passing everything off on Lizzie. They're exhibitionists. They would love the opportunity to fuck and play music on the stage. Shame to hear that from Hiveworks but it seems as though print is dying / becoming more niche, or making less economic sense for the indie publishers.

I understand why this conversation needs to happen, but god does this entire scene make Seth look like he has no idea what he is even doing.
