Finished Romeo Is A Deadman this week, and... man. I like Suda51 games. I've played a lot of 'em. I like killer7. Was amused by Flower, Sun and Rain. LOVED Travis Strikes Again and No More Heroes 1. But Romeo... just did nothing for me. I didn't vibe with the characters, the gameplay, the story, nothing. It just felt so unfocused, meandering, and yet also rushed to completion. It feels like the least confident Suda game, just kinda throwing shit at a wall. And maybe that's the point? I dunno. Maybe I need to finally play The Silver Case and see if I'm just missing something... Great menu design and some really nice music tracks, at least.

But immediately after, I started Final Fantasy: Stranger of Paradise and holy shit I can't believe how much I'm loving this game. Like, genuinely. When I'm not playing it, I kinda want to be playing it. I'm still really early in, but I'll have a lot more thoughts on it next post.

That's all for today, though! Coming up soon will be supporter rewards! I think you're REALLY gonna like these... but until then, see you on Sunday!

Oh shit, Brad is in his Chaos killing arc. We love to see it!

oh, silver case is kind of core to most of suda's games, thematically and sometimes chronologically. i definitely had people surprised to hear i played flower sun and rain before the silver case, and while i think they underestimate how self-contained fsr is, there's definitely a lot of stuff that comes from the context of it being a sequel to the silver case. i haven't played romeo is a dead man yet, but i know at least one character from the 25th ward is in the recurring cast. anyway, definitely play the silver case, and make sure you alternate between transmission and placebo chapters, since they're mostly dealing with the same events from different perspectives, often feeding context into each other. and once you're done you can play the 25th ward, which was made after the team really found their creative footing and really feels it. 25th ward is really good.

Been hearing a lot of mixed things about Romeo, some funny others frustrating. Thinking of revisiting the No More Heroes trilogy before playing to get a good comparison for it
