Hello! Here is the 3D model (no lighting, no textures) of the 2D/3D chess set as created in this video.

The attached blend file is licensed under GPL 3.0 (see attached license document).

Looking forward to see what you will create with this!

these pieces are extraordinary... could I 3D print them?

Polyfjord®

Please feel free to try!! I haven't got much experience with 3D printing, so I'm not sure. But I know some of the pieces has floating parts, so they will need some tweaking before they're possible to use I think

Can I put remeshed versions of these on makerworld.com so everyone can 3d print them?

DC Visuals

Hello Polyfjord, do you think we can animate it with a PGN chess game archive into blender or Davinci Resolve (Fusion) to give a full experience of a real game animation from 3D scene ? :)

DC Visuals

A made a test in blender. Not the perfect way to reproduce a PGN archive but it's the first try : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzh9My2LPhw. Actually I think I will try to make a librarie in Blender and then use Davinci Resolve with PythonChess and PGN to input and make the game works :) If you have some ideas It will be usefull :)

The gpl licence is very confusing. Can this be used in a commercial product like a video game?

Polyfjord®

Hey!! Sorry, I’m not a legal expert :( I just know I had to license it like that since the 2D design I used was GPL
