Hello!

In the latest video, we're recreating a cinematic lighting setup I find myself using quite often. I tend to use it as a starting point for placing shadows in the scene, but it often ends up being the only light source I need for an entire project!

The attatched .blend file contains the empty lighting studio as shown in the video. It also contains my annotations (that you can hide) to give a better understanding of the placement of the objects in the scene.

If you import a model from mixamo (free, but requires an Adobe account), it will be placed perfectly at the point of interest in the scene, just like in the tutorial.

Looking forward to see what you'll create with this simple light setup in Cycles. I think it's so much fun.

Thanks for watching!

Hey man, I made something that I want you to see. It needs to finish rendering so I can't send it now. And I'm not even sure if I can send it to you but I'll try :) Btw I LOVE your vids they're SO GOOD!!!!!

Your work is amazing . I just wanted to ask you , do you use an addon for shot management or do you do it natively . Would love to see more staging and lighting tuts , specially ground setups .

Hey Seth!!! Sorry didn’t see this until now, that looked really cool :D Love that you gave it so many legs, must have taken a while to set up!!

Thanks so much Sameer!! I try and use few addons, so it’s easier for people to follow!! I usually end up not doing so many shots, so shot management haven’t really been something I’ve focused on… But perhaps it’s something I should try and do more of! There will be more lighting tutorials, yes! The next one will be about lighting realistic glass in Cycles
