First up, many apologies for the lateness of the 4K encodes for the Xbox Direct - they are now available to download.

Moving onto this week's Direct proper, the catastrophic launch of MindsEye dominates proceedings - but how does the game actually look and run on PS5 Pro and PC? We'll have a more detailed review soon, but there's good and bad with this one. Meanwhile, legit-looking specs emerge for the next-gen PlayStation handheld, Switch 2 sells through 3.5m units in four days and Rich spends some time looking at Stellar Blade's PC ports. Meanwhile, John has a brace of retro-based stories to share with you.

Not directly related but just getting through the CDPR/Epic interview. Phenomenal stuff from Alex. I only understand like every other word, but it’s been a joy to listen to.

If Xbox essentially becomes a PC next gen, how does Microsoft make any money? If you can load Steam on your “Xbox” why would anyone choose to use the Xbox store over steam? And if Microsoft uses all off the shelf PC parts and doesn’t subsidize the console, how would they ever compete with a PS6 which will be sold at a loss and full of custom hardware and software. And how does this PC “Xbox” play your Xbox library? And what about your old OG, 360, XB1, and XBS discs???

A lot of eggs in the Game Pass basket I imagine…..
