Content

Hi everyone, apologies for the late post - things are very, very busy behind the scenes. The Digital Foundry #content meeting did happen and here's what we've got lined up. Unfortunately, a lot of it will be "embargoed content" but what I can say is that we're catching up for lost time after a somewhat sparse last week. So, here's the deal:

John is still working on the big Tony Hawk Pro-Skater 3+4 video, but - and I bet you're amazingly surprised by this revelation - he's executed a pivot to handle some very exciting embargoed content you'll see later on this week.

Alex had the pleasure of spending an extended amount of time with id Software, discussing the enhancements made to idTech for Doom: The Dark Ages path tracing. He's away next week, but he wants to catch up on some things for the next Direct such as... what on earth is going on with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on PC?

Rich (ie me) has a lot going on, but I do want to continue work on the Strix Halo project - you may have seen a short clip of it in the Strix Halo handheld discussion on the last Direct.

Tom has two projects in development. Currently, he's working on Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on consoles and after that... yeah, I'm sorry, it's (once again) embargoed content. Again though, it's good stuff.

Oliver has just completed his Mac Studio review, looking at the power of the high-end M3 Ultra model. I'm just about to check out the draft edit! After that, there's plenty to choose from, but we are intent on covering No Man's Sky on Switch 2 at some point and it looks like some of the issues we had with handheld mode have been fixed.

Beyond the stuff listed above, there's more: obviously we want to look at Maaafia: The Old Country (though we've not had any code) and we're eagerly anticipating the Xbox version of Helldivers 2. We're also cogniscent that the Battlefield 6 open beta is happening too. And every week we keep talking about the fact that we really should be reviewing Fortnite on Switch 2.

Anyway, that's the update right now - have a great week!

I assume you meant ’Cognisant’, or ’Cognizant’, although the idea of being ’cogniscent’ is certainly interesting, perhaps it could mean being aware of something only by smelling it.

Will John cover Ys Proud Nordics on Switch 2? Would be interesting to see your insights on the 120 fps mode.

Still think you should do a switch 2 dlss video with pc comparisons when you have the time. Ms cost and quality differences (based on hitman and other games)

Rich, I assume you meant to say that John is working on Tony Hawk Professional Skater 3&4. Honest mistake, it could have happened to anyone, chin up lad

"Cogniscent" obviously means they can smell the blood of the (6th) Battlefield

Hi Rich, will DF be covering the PS6 leaks by Moore's Law? Tons of interesting information there and considering we're nearing end-phase of the PS5's lifecycle (which is absolutely insane), would definitely like to hear the crew's thoughts.

Saw some of the discourse about Wuchang Fallen Feathers PC performance or lack thereof namely on the Twitter page comments section and was surprised as I've had a rather great experience with the game on Series X I am running it with 120hz VRR Enabled but have to say it's a gorgeous UE5 effort and runs rather smoothly
