This one is going public later today, but all Supporters can watch - and download - now.

Unreal Engine 5 is swiftly become the middleware engine of choice for the generation - but there's no denying that its cutting-edge feature set can be highly demanding... so where does that leave Switch 2? In this video, Oliver Mackenzie and Alex Battaglia tackle a trio of UE5 titles, from Bloober Studios' Cronos: The New Dawn through to Hazelight Studios' Split Fiction. And of course, Epic itself has delivered a Switch 2 port of Fortnite at 60fps - surely the standard bearer for the engine?

Alex, blink twice if you're being forced at gunpoint to touch Nintendo hardware

First thing I do on Fortnite on a new pc handheld is turn off the lumen and nanite. Definitely want the frames over those features for this game. I like the switch 2 version of the game. Nice and consistent for a handheld.

We need proof of life at this stage. A newspaper clipping that shows the date should be enough.

Every time I see Cronos the horribly washed out colour grading makes me sad. The art looks good, and who knows, maybe the game is good, but I'm so sick of games with raised black floors I avoid them at all costs now. What on earth is going on in the minds of the lighting artists responsible for this nonsense? They make a mockery of OLED sreens.

Cronos is more impressive just because it's a day and date release with the other console versions, meaning porting to it was viable for Bloober to do without a massive effort or extensive time.

Oh no. Alex is going to be putting the Switch 2 under the microscope?! 🤣

Analysis of low powered hardware like the Switches and pc handhelds are so my jam. Love this deep dive. Keep it up y’all
