While we weren't blown away by pre-release media, review code for Ghost of Yōtei does not disappoint. John goes into depth on how the game is enhanced over Ghost of Tsushima with a deep dive into Sucker Punch's ray tracing implementation - something the developer keep quiet about throughout the pre-release period! Graphics modes are discussed and tested, the PS5 Pro advantages are highlighted, with John completing the review with audio and gameplay critiques.

Rich, please take a look at the download link again ;)

Yes, Sony give us the same level of access as other outlets.

Hi Rich the download link points to the Silent Hill F PC Review

Oh I’m aware but the game comes out on October 2nd if I’m not mistaken. Usually review embargo is lifted 3 or so days before launch.

Don't beat yourself up over it. You doing it temporarily Patreon-only is a huge change and you are only human. If you get frustrated again, I'll unsubscribe :P

John, you do amazing work. Thank you for your video. I am pumped for this release.

Sony typically has embargos lift a week before launch, when they know a game will review well. It shows a huge amount of confidence, cause if the game bombs, a week is plenty of time for people to cancel pre-orders.

I'm glad someone else is not a fan of sliding up slopes. The new Saros gameplay trailer just reminded me that sliding up stairs will still be a thing and look silly in the future.

John, just wondering about performance in the Miike mode? I would imagine with more blood and mud performance would be effected at least slightly. Incredible video!! My hype was already at 11, now I'm at 12.

Great Video John! Too bad we couldn't get a little glimps of Takashi Miike's Mode too. I guess we would get much more blood and maybe a bit more moody atmosphere :)

sliding would have both feet planted. This is just feet clipping through stairs and slopes, and most people probably never notice cause they are busy playing the game. And Saros had no clipping up stairs at all. I don't know what you are talking about. I just watched it at 1/4 speed and counted one time when his feet clipped through a rock and it was when he jumped over a projectile and landed on a medium sized rock on the ground, and when he died the bottom of his robe clipped through the floor. All pretty common stuff for a game in development. But there was zero sliding up stairs, unless you are talking about the dash ability
