A new patch has "dropped" for Metal Gear Solid Delta and there are big performance and feature improvements in some areas, but is the game actually fixed? Meanwhile, Oliver gets to grips with Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 and comes away disappointed, while John is highly impressed with Lumines Arise. The team try to work their way through a puzzling interview from Microsoft's Satya Nadella, while a promising game that first started development in 2012 now actually has a launch trailer - but what is Routine? And 13 years on, why should you be interested?

Ooh look forward to watching this. Not sure if it's mentioned but I've noticed the PC version of Delta Snake Eater makes me recompile 17,619 shaders every time I boot it now which didn't happen before. On my 9950X3D this takes just under a minute which is quite annoying, but I imagine this could be particularly punishing on less capable CPUs.

One thing I think is largely ignored when it comes to Xbox Series S and X is the absurdity of the names. I was out of the loop from gaming from 2020-2024 and had no idea what these were especially after the Xbox One X. I think they share a bit of the issue with the Wii U being named terribly.

The fact that X & S sound so similar is a huge issue. I'm so glad Nintendo is now on the right path with numbering system

Poor Oliver. Feel better soon!

I was so surprised to see a segment on Routine, I wishlisted that ages ago because Mick Gordon did some sound work for it I believe (EDIT: The devs stated while most of what he worked on will be included he is no longer involved, unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts. DANG) Didn't know DF felt strongly about it! Awesome! :)

Rich, another thing you are overlooking about the power saver mode vs. the handheld, is the handheld will presumably be rendering the games at a far lower resolution, maybe 640p or even lower and then it will use the next gen version of PSSR to upscale it to 1080p, which as we know will look fantastic on that small screen

Mild oops: footage of Routine says Lumines Arise in the corner
