Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 47 2025) (Patreon)

Week 47... really? Just five more weeks left in the year of our lord 2025? It scarcely seems likely and yet here we are. I've just emerged from a fairly business-like meeting this morning burdened with knowledge on what we are working on this week, so let's get straight to it.
John is working on a couple of projects. He'll be continuing to work hard on his Xbox 360 retrospective, covering all of the launch games. He's also working with Audi on some coverage of the upcoming Outlaws remaster from Nightdive. This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the Xbox 360 and that's when we'll be publishing our retro unboxing video. An original, untouched Xbox 360 is removed from its packaging for your viewing pleasure. You can watch this video now if you're on our Retro Supporter tier! It's also looking like the DF Retro Super Show's third episode will be looking at the Analogue 3D.
Oliver has taken point on STALKER 2, coming to PlayStation consoles this week. You'll get PS5 and PS5 Pro coverage, stacked up against Xbox Series X. And yes, we are still working on the Xbox Ally X stuff. We being Oliver and Rich (ie me).
Tom is working on a sponsored video focusing on Where Winds Meet, which has some interesting technology to discuss. Beyond that, there's a new Kirby game to look at: Kirby Air Riders.
Alex will be taking a quick look at AMD's ray regeneration, as found within Call of Duty: Black Ops 7... in somewhat limited scenarios, namely Zombies and Multiplayer modes. This makes coverage a bit tricky in that we'll need to contend with getting killed by zombies and other players, but we'll figure out something. Similar to prior AMD tech launches, this does seem to be preview-like in nature, it has to be said.
Rich (ie me) will refer you to the Ally X stuff we've been discussing for a while now, but I am also interested in a Steam Machine simulation video. I believe we can get a pretty close match to the Valve spec by using a frequency-capped Ryzen 5 8500g (which has the same make-up of Zen 4 and Zen 4c cores) along with TDP-limited RX 7600 alongside an RX 6600. I still believe that the Steam Machine will slot somewhere in between those two GPUs. Bazzite is the best Linux equivalent for these tests, though I'll be steering clear of ray tracing where Valve is promising improvement over current RADV performance.
Sam will continue to power our new digitalfoundry.net website, and will be providing his own Analogue 3D web coverage, produced in combination with John. We're also aware that there will be some stories that may be great for the web but less for video - feel free to send him any news tips!
We're somewhat overwhelmed right now, so we're still figuring what - if anything - we do with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on consoles beyond the AMD ray regeneration stuff. Truth is, it is looking a little bleak. We are aware of the possibility of a Silent Hill 2 remake launch on Xbox later this week too so we'll try to figure out something there. The 2x performing ShadPS4 build for Bloodborne? We're aware of that too.
Any other things we should be talking about? Feel free to let us know in the comments box below!
