Coming this week on Digital Foundry (Week 24, 2021) (Patreon)

Hey everyone, Rich here with a slightly delayed outlook on how the week is going to play out here at the Foundry. We usually have our weekly content meeting on Monday morning, but yesterday, John, Alex and I scrambled first thing to record the Direct reaction to the excellent Microsoft press event. We (we being me, I guess) wanted it to be a full 4K presentation but perhaps predictably, recording, editing, exporting, encoding and uploading a 50 minute 4K video has proven to have been slightly problematic, but that should be with you today!

Here's what else is going on:

* John is working on a Forza Horizon 5 video, which is shaping up to be quite nice - even if we are limited to just the footage shown at the MS presser.

* John is also up to look at The Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin demo, now that it is actually working!

* Alex is polishing up an embargoed analysis video we can't talk about right now, but will hopefully 'come out of nowhere' and impress you. I'm excited by it!

* Tom is taking a look at Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, now it has received a proper next-gen patch... in addition to its 'back compat plus' enhancement from a while back

* Audi will be working on more Directs, but we've also just shot an E3 retro commentary - and for this one, we went back to E3 2012 to review the last E3 press conference Nintendo ever gave, with Wii U as the focus. This one will go out first to DF Retro supporter tier backers.

* A Watch Dogs Legion 60fps patch video is still happening, and look out for some potentially really special for Final Fantasy 14 now it has arrived on PlayStation 5.

Lots going on, including development of the next full DF Retro Episode and Classic FPS Remastered will also be back, this time looking at GTA4 Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony episodes, which ties into the origin story of DF frame-rate analysis for the original GTA4, so that'll be interesting to share.

As always, thanks for supporting Digital Foundry!
