Still unsure how to best share lengthy written work with people on sites such as Bsky which have very limited space, for now I feel Free/Public Patreon posts are a good compromise and a place I won't accidentally delete later while cleaning, like I had happen with Google Drive.

We didn't hear it approaching, the only sign something was amiss was our companion suddenly disappearing.  Just by chance I turned around in time to see the mystery creature myself, catching it in the act of devouring our missing member. The ghostly creature bobbed its head, working them into the back of its mouth, the spectral form of their upper half visible beyond those skeletal jaws and inside what would be its throat were it a flesh and blood creature.Once they were fully inside the ghost rex tossed its head back to swallow, accompanied by a muted gulp sound in spite of its skeletal appearance. The ghostly figure of its prey then slid steadily down its neck and the undead beast let out a low hiss-like rumble, clearly pleased with its catch.I watched in dread as their wriggling passed through the chest and into its ribcage where our other companion resided, still alive and struggling in the undead monster's belly. The skeletal beast burped, pulling my attention away from the view of my companions in its stomach. That's when it noticed my presence. It tilted its head nonchalantly in my direction, glaring at me in silence as if considering what to do with the last member of the party.  Rather than flee and abandon my companions, or give the undead beast the opportunity to take a free bite at me as well,  I materialized a weapon in my free hand and prepared to fight. It didn't do us any good though. After a brief confrontation the ghostrex had me in its jaws and I was witnessing first-hand what the others had gone through only a while ago, and saw that the interior of the beast was almost normal looking flesh. Victorious the ghostly monster tilted its head back slowly and I slid out of its maw and into its gullet, letting the slick surface of its throat and gravity do all the work rather than swallow.Sliding into the fleshy interior I was hit with a sudden change in temperature – the beast's interior being strikingly colder than the air of the crypt we had been exploring. I shivered as I slowly made my way down its throat, plopping into an even chillier stomach where my companions waited. Re-summoning my weapon I tried to thrust it into the stomach walls but to no effect. My companions pitched in too and together we repeatedly pushed the blade into the walls with as much force as we could,  but despite our best efforts we were rewarded only with another burp. The soft gel-like surface of the stomach walls rippled gently and began to glow faintly, a sign that the creature's unique digestive processes had warmed up and were ready to take on its latest meal. These creatures fed on energy, consuming whatever provided them with such sustenance - be it magical artifacts or living creatures that could be eaten whole. The ghostflesh would siphon and absorb its prey's energy and magic.  Once fully drained it would disgorge the indigestible physical matter, leaving lifeless organic bodies to be consumed by other creatures and once magical artifacts as useless junk.Well-fed and satisfied, the beast lazily settled down in a dark corner of the chamber to rest after its meal, enjoying the feeling of a full belly. For Halloween we needed something spooky to do and this ghostly dinosaur was happy to play along with us for the spirit of the holiday. It'll 'graze' off us and then release us once Halloween's passed. Happy Halloween everyone! :D
