Some dragons retain their predatory instincts even after death, feeding on the living as they once did in life. Those unfortunate enough to be swallowed whole by one will find that their stomachs no longer have the muscular or chemical means of digesting food, but instead rely on their prey decomposing in their belly and assimilating it as it does so - a typical adventurer meal taking several years on average to digest. Surprisingly the material absorbed can actually repair the dragon's decaying body and in theory they could restore most if not all of their original form, though the significant amount of time spent digesting a meal combined with the scarcity of suitable prey ensures this remains just a theory. So, earlier in the year I had a very odd predator on the mind every night as I went to sleep: Undead Dragons! I eventually drew this up, but drawing and shading this ended up being just as agonizing a process as the aforementioned digestion in the flavor text - worked on sporadically for months and half-abandoned at a few points.I so dearly wanted it to look real nice and then use it as a "Come see this on Patreon!" sort of thing but I just couldn't finish it. Even now I still look at it as being only half finished, but not knowing how to even continue at the same time. But, I still mostly like how it came out even still :>
