A talk about the next maps! - What do you think? (Patreon)

Hey folksss! This is a crazy month for me, but I just wanted to share that I'm super excited about the next map! I see that the poll didn't end yet, but there is a CLEAR excitement about gargoyles! This is cool because it is something I wish to work on for a few years.

I'm still in doubt about the layout of the map itself. On the other hand, I don't want to give too many hints (eheheh, that's a surprise), but I still wonder about a couple of features you would like to find on this or/and future maps.

Like maze-like dungeons OR jumping challenges OR detailed objects/furniture! Maybe why not a themed series (by  clan/culture, by weather, by historical era, etc etc). 

Perhaps something more subtle as... more obstacles, or more tactical outdoor maps!

Just shout! I'm always open to hearing what you think, and don't feel shy to throw in a few challenges about specific elements you would like to see!

Well, as I intend to run a dark sun campaign, I'd love to see desert themed, oasis, cacti, crawling things, etc. Both during the scorching heat, as the cold dark nights. Perhaps something where a treacherous path must delicately be passed to get to the safe oasis. Just throwing in some thoughts. Love your work!

Your thoughts are more than welcome Casper! Knowing more of your actual and planned games does help me to think about proper variations. As i try to stay as generic as possible to fit more games, but i wouldn't regret working on very specific pieces time to time :p

I like to reward adventures who enjoy investigating / searching as much as they enjoy combat. So maps with hidden passages leading to secret rooms containing treasure or rare items are always welcome. Small details on an outdoor map can also be used to reward the curious adventurer. Freshly-disturbed dirt at the base of a tree? Maybe someone hastily buried something. Collection of rocks laid out in a crude arrow? Where are they pointing?

Hey Doof! Nice to read from you! Yay, I feel it. I, as many of us, come from the old school empty grid. :D When a master was describing things accordingly to your curiosity, eheh However, at today we have the luck to play on different maps. I hated for a while having players roaming around and sticking to details that weren't planned to be part of the quest lol. But i healed and started to embrace this aspect. So I'm willing to work on tiny easter eggs. Just i'm afraid to make a map less versatile than it should be. Being honest, I'm also a fan of passages and secret spaces. Stay tuned, the next map will have some :P
