It's not weird to be fascinated by mental illness. It's like someone being fascinated by serial killers. Why certain people have a certain derangement in the brain and why other people don't have the same disorder depite having similar trauma... It absolutely IS fascinating.

I just dropped a recommendation for United States of Tara through the suggestion form. Great Cable original from 2009-2011 about a family where the mom has DID. How they deal with it, how it affects the children, how the community sees her and them. Also features a very young Brie Larson. If you haven’t seen it, sounds like it’s right up your alley.

You probably read about this back when you reacted to the movie, but if nobody mentioned it, Mad Max: Fury Road was edited by director George Miller's wife, Margaret Sixel (and she won an Oscar for it).
