Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) ✦ MCU First Time Watching Reaction

This is a movie reaction and review to my first time watching Thor: Love and Thunder, released in 2022 and directed by Taiki Waititi. We finally got Jane as Mighty Thor! And a really good villain with Christian Bale as Gorr that sadly didn't seem to really fit in with the rest of the movie. But it's always good to see Chris Hemsworth again. Make sure to stick around to the end of this video for my full thoughts and review and thank you so much for watching! ✦ The reaction was edited by https://milesisediting7.wixsite.com/milesisediting ✦ The intro and review was edited by KL 🎬 FULL-LENGTH WATCHALONG: https://kaiielle.com/mcu-films or you can purchase it directly here: https://shop.kaiielle.com/products/thorlat-reaction ✦ You must bring your own copy of the film to watch along with me. 🦸 ALL OF MY MCU REACTIONS: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJVmazJyGMIS8vXSoc0XCvWnsgBFklW1d 🍿 MORE REACTION VIDEOS: ✦ You can find them through my website using the Menu at the top: https://kaiielle.com ✦ You can also sort through my YouTube playlists: https://youtube.com/c/kaiielle/playlists 🎥 SUGGEST MOVIES & TV SERIES: ✦ https://forms.gle/XZVvZhfhwFzsDpRU9 💳 REQUEST MOVIE REACTIONS: ✦ https://reactr.tv/kaiielle 💰 PATREON: https://patreon.com/kaiielle 🎮 MY GAMING CHANNEL: https://youtube.com/@kaleplays 🗨 JOIN THE KAIIELLE'S CREW DISCORD SERVER: ✦ https://discord.gg/4KQXhXJQVU 📢 MY INFO, FAQ, SOCIALS & MORE: ✦ https://kaiielle.com/links ⏰ TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 - Intro 00:49 - Film Reaction 41:53 - Thoughts & Review 🎶 MUSIC CREATED FOR ME BY ELLINIA: https://youtu.be/Ygq-_qAjd6E ✦ SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/ElliniaMusic 🌌 COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER: Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Ah, Love and Thunder... there's a brilliant movie lost in the editing. Bale and the shadow realm scenes still make it a net positive for me though.

If you (or your editors) edited out every instance of the goats screaming I’ll be your bestest friend and patron for life

Yeah, there are a lot of individual moments in the movie that are cool, fun, funny, cute. I enjoy it a lot, but it's a bit of a mess. A fun mess, but a mess nonetheless.

Love and Thunder feels like three films cobbled together. As you mentioned you have the Gorr stuff with Bale, then you have this beautiful story about love and loss and choosing love regardless of the inevitable heartbreak, and then you have a quippy sort of 80's adventure movie. I think I would have enjoyed any/all three, but smashed together it just feels jarring. The perfect example being when they arrive in the Shadow Realm and all the color fades, and it feels like a serious moment that is then undercut by the ship crashing and the goats screaming. On rewatch I think it gets better but only because you can then enjoy each part as its own thing.

Had to think about it but here's the villains in the MCU I personally loved even moreso than the title hero: 1. Scarlet Witch (Multiverse of Madness) 2. Hela (Ragnarok) 3. Loki (Thor) 4. Ultron (Age of Ultron) 5. Gorr (Thor 4) 6. Kingpin (Daredevil S1) 7. Punisher (-ish?) (Daredevil S2) Punisher I guess would be more of an anti-hero than a villain but I included him anyway lol Some villains, like Thanos and Mysterio for example, I loved just as much as the hero. But the rest def loved the hero more.
