Hello there! This reaction is available as part of my "Try Before You Buy" reaction videos here on Patreon. For the TV series that I react to, I give the first episode out for free so you can experience it with me and see if you're up for joining us to continue! You must have your own copy of the episodes to watchalong as I do blur the episodes and have the audio muted. There is 45 seconds of syncing time at the start of the episode. I am not allowed to distribute the entire episodes in my videos, as this is illegal. Thank you for watching along with me!

YES, let's heckin go! So hooked in already with this first episode and can't wait to continue! 😊 Please remember to avoid ALL kinds of spoilers, hints, etc. I think there will be some other members watching for the first time too.

If anyone wants to discuss Severance freely with spoilers as I make my way through the series, a thread for that can be started in my Discord server that myself and other folks can stay out of.

For now, my plan is one episode per week, but this could potentially be bumped up to two per week later on.

Please enjoy, thank you for watching, and I'm looking forward to your comments! Direct link here.

OH yeah. This is gonna be fun.

Steve Mercier

It seems like everyone's on this bandwagon now, but holy fuck, what a bandwagon to be on. Welcome to one of the weirdest, wonkiest, best shows out there. It just gets weirder from here (but, you know...in a good way).

Steve Mercier

Pssst...hey...link ain't working. That is all.

Christopher simeon

I am ready to watch a long with everyone. Just had to get the episode.

Movies with KL

WELL that is weird. YouTube is taking forever to process a video today I guess. (This was a scheduled post.)

Movies with KL

YouTube says around 30-40 more mins for the video to process - so sorry! I don't know why it's taking so long to process today.

Christopher simeon

I can hear your audio but don't have visuals but that is ok since I mostly listen to you talk instead of watching you watch the episode lol.

Movies with KL

Hahaha anytime I make a silent facial expression only reaction I always wonder how many people are missing those. 😂 Enjoy the listen!

Steve Mercier

Pssst...hey...link is working now. That is all.

Christopher simeon

I do go back to watch your expressions at big moments tho so please don't stop making those fun expressions.

Christopher simeon

Ok first expressions. Love the episode. It feels very much like a black mirror type of episode. You bring up a interesting idea about the "Outside" world and i have my theories about both sides but I don't want to say it this early just in case I am right and may ruin any surprises. I will wait until I see more evidence in the story to say it but I think you are on the same wavelength. I have trouble with names but I think it goes Mark - Adam scott character Helly - redhead newbie Pete - Best friend to Mark Everyone else I didn't catch or remember. Can you guys tell me if I missed anyone. I know I missed boss neighbor for sure. It was Mrs. Something.

Movies with KL

Cool! Yes you're right it does feel like Black Mirror a little bit!

Zachary Ketcham-Sorg

So many moments I'm looking forward to, to see your reaction.

Christopher simeon

Mark was crying the first time we see him in the outside world so what do you think happened? Did he betray Pete maybe in the outside world? 🤔 Pete's work self would not remember his outside self memories so that is possible right?

I first watched this with Cinebinge not too long ago. Excited for a proper rewatch, this show is a treat.

Thadman

This show, with a simple premise, opens up a LOT of thoughts of possibilities and consequences and theorizing and you're right, like you said that at first, you might hear the concept and say, "Oh, cool," but then you quickly start thinking of the practicality of it and go, "Oh, yeah...never mind." The show is great on rewatches since a lot of it is mystery and seeing it again, things register when they didn't very much at all, at first. Season 2 is done. I believe it completed a couple of months ago. I didn't watch this show when it first came out 'cause I kept relating it to "Succession" which I have NO desire to watch. My friend, who I just showed this show to, thought the same thing. Anyway, I watched this 1st season about a year before season 2 came out and those who watched it when it aired will tell you (loudly 😁) that they had to wait almost THREE YEARS from the end of S1 to S2. It was mostly because of pandemic issues, but still, that's a long time. I don't think it put a damper on their feelings for the show though.

Nathan Jasper

I love how they use a steady pace to tell the story. It lets the characters breathe and the situations play out. We have to sit in these moments and really think about them and feel them. In a way, the audience is just as much a "captive" at Lumon as the workers. This show is like a favorite ride at a theme park. It just never gets old no matter how many times it's ridden. Excited to join you for this!

Movies with KL

Awesome! 😊 Happy to have you along for the ride.

Movies with KL

I'm so excited to find a new show where rewatching is even better than a first watch. A three year wait is painful - glad I won't have that. 😅

Movies with KL

Yeah, the pacing is great so far. Super stoked for more!
